Best, healthiest food you will ever have out. Mykha is an absolute gem. as a person and a restaurant owner. I do wish she’d get a different waiter as he’s a little odd. But he knows the menu and there must be something Mykha sees in him… We celebrate special occasions there and always feel so good!

The food was overpriced and not very good. At 9pm they came around and kicked us out. Bad customer service.

The family came here after a day at the Autobahn … Pluses: 1. Pretty location in downtown Glen Ellyn 2. Menu looked interesting and refreshing 3. Host was very flexible in reservation time on a Sat evening 4. The beef dishes were terrific and very tender –Grandma’s noodles were the best Negatives: 1. Wait staff did not command the caliber expected at restaurant with avg plate charge of $ 25 to $ 30 2. Wait staff argued about what is traditional egg rolls vs spring rolls with us(after awhile, I’m not sure it was relevant — since we wanted spring rolls) 3. Husband’s calamari was chewy and too over-cooked 4. Agree with other reviewers as to what ethnic food we were eating — there were avacado salsa served with our vietnamese pork chops? 5. Back to the spring rolls. my good buddy who is not vietnamese can make better spring rolls than the ones we had here. 6. Husband commented the restaurant had an initial strange smell when we first arrived. Overall, I don’t think I will go back again. but worth a try — on anything new — at least once. Value wasn’t so great for the experience or food.

My husband & I had the most amazing dinner at Mykha’s … First time we had dinner there and we were so impressed… ambiance, service, food, tea, just could go on & on… Mykha came out to meet us and welcome us to her restaurant… I wanted to just stay there all nite, it was like being in someones home for dinner… She is going to be serving buffet lunches soon, mon-fri, then opening for a sunday brunch, incorporating pakistanian & indian food with her speical touch… I asked her, where did you learn such unique cooking, she smiled with a glow & said ‚ my Gramma … You will love it … please treat yourself…

Best restaurant ever! The food is AMAZING! Vietnamese with French and Southwestern influences. The eggrolls are superb. My favorite dishes are veggie delight and spicey basil chicken. I have never had a bad meal here. Mmm mmm delicious! I also appreciate Mykha’s devotion to supporting an orphanage in Vietnam. She is a wonderful kind person, and her staff are all delightful. Can’t miss with Mykha’s!

Vietnamese-French-Mexican fusion… or, more appropriately, confusion. This place is a classic lesson in contradictions. Let me explain. I walked up on a Saturday night at 7pm and 90% of the tables were empty. Not such a good sign. The restaurant’s build-out and décor are weak. Bad indoor/outdoor carpet. A portable air conditioning unit(the looked like R2D2) sitting on the floor. Just devoid of all style. There was one person working the entire dining room. As a host, server and bus person. And he was spread pretty thin. He was definitely stressed and not so up beat, but his knowledge of the food and it’s preparation was stellar. That’s when the experience started to turn around. And I almost did not make it there that long as I was tempted to hit the«bail out» switch multiple times. Admittedly, I have limited knowledge of and experience with Vietnamese food. To a lesser extent, Vietnamese-French-Mexican fusion. However, I have to tell you that everything presented to my table was fit for the cover of Bön Apetit magazine. And the flavors, while sometimes difficult to define, were excellent and atypical. Bottom line: Get over the un-décor and stressed out server. Go for the food.

Mykha, I love you. I have been going to Mykha’s for oh so many years and I can not believe how wonderful it is every time I go. The food is made with love and consideration. Mykha cares about every item that comes out of her kitchen. The lunch buffet is an amazing deal with a great amount of expertly prepared produce sometimes presented in the simplest ways and somehow resulting in a variety of complex flavors. The egg rolls are one of my greatest food finds. They have been my personal comfort food through sickness, health, heartbreak, love and serious pregnancy cravings. The soups are all delicious and thoughtfully crafted. The beef with grandma noodles is a favorite at dinner. The service has always been spoty and can be slow but sit back and relax and enjoy yourself the food is worth the wait.

Definitely a great place to eat with great environment, but don’t expect the usual Asian fare. The food is a blend of Asian and French influences, which I personally found to be a great mix. If you’re looking for the standard every day Asian food, it might not be what you’re looking for and will definitely cost you more. Definitely try some of the more unique dishes here and expand your horizons. The ambiance and service was great. They were able to offer several recommendations which I found to be very helpful. I think the smaller footprint of the restaurant also helps the ambiance and keeps it from getting too crowded or loud. Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant and would definitely go there again. But for the price, I probably won’t be going every week.

This is my favorite restaurant. I have never been there for lunch, only for dinner, so it’s a little pricey, but worth it! It is probably noteworthy that I am a vegetarian, but I always go with meat-eaters and the restaurant is not by any means primarily vegetarian. Mykha loves to be inventive with all kinds of meats and fish, but she doesn’t want the tofu-lovers to be left behind and she manages to equally please both worlds; that is a unique talent! The spring rolls are what I dream of in between visits … they are incredible! The Grandma noodles are delicious, too! There are only a couple main entrees that are vegetarian but they will not disappoint. The atmosphere is somewhat subdued and probably most appropriate for date night or small groups, but I have seen bigger groups and families and that’s always fine, too. Oh — and Mykha is just an incredible person with an incredible story. You’ll have to visit to hear about it, but it feels good to support a business with a mission.

Every time I’ve been to Mykha’s I’ve loved it. The plate presentation is like no plate presentation I’ve seen. I love the fact that Mykha hand picks her vegetables and how she tells her story through her menu. Every once in a while you can see her in the kitchen, she is a tiny, older lady… she is beautiful. The food is fresh, healthy, and unique. Mykha’s dream was«to have a restaurant where she could cook with her heart.» She has succeeded.

YUM. This is a little gem out in the burbs. It is a bit pricey but it’s delicious and it’s a restaurant desert out there… and you don’t have to drive an hour to get authentic food in the city. The grandmas noodles w/beef or w/veggies & tofu are my fave. Also love the crispy spring rolls, which you roll up in lettuce. Mykha is darling and they are really friendly and sweet there.

Lunch buffet. Unenthusiastic waiter. Didn’t offer a beverage other than water. Buffet items were unique, wish they would label them so we could tell what we were eating. Need a better warming tray. Egg rolls and soup were very tasty. Would like to try ordering from the menu, but that option seemed to be absent at lunch.

What a find! I am always on the lookout for the unique and different. Mykha’s fits the bill. I went with my food club(we try ethnic restaurants) so I had a good sampling of the menu. Don’t expect traditional Vietnamese at Mykha’s — I would call it fusion food. The flavors are fantastic, the food is creatively and beautifully prepared. The beef phở — out of this world! Prices are a bit steep, but I’m willing to pay since it’s so hard to find food like this in the suburbs. As a small neighborhood place one cannot expect perfect service, but the staff is always super friendly. Go for the unique food, overlook the prices…

OVERPRICED! WAYTOOEXPENSIVE We went there 2 years ago when we first moved here from California, only because we didn’t know any better and in need of some Phở. So we ordered 2 Phở, it came with several small(2 bite) side dish. That was $ 25 each! There was probably 3 pcs of meat, it was such a subpar food. I’m sorry but I don’t care how sweet this lady is, this is robbery! What the hell, $ 25 for a bowl of noodle and some side dish? Never again, not worth it.

Came here because of the positive reviews on Unilocal.First off, this place in incredibly hard to find. The map on Unilocal is not accurate, and it does not help that the restaurant is tucked away between other buildings and does not have any kind of banner(that I could see). We walked in around 8:30pm on a Saturday night and waited around 2 minutes at an empty host stand while we watched a crazed waiter run around the tiny dining room and another waitress/host act confused. Apparently they were two people short that night. I guess at least tonight there was an excuse for what was seems to be consistently slow service. Appetizers were very nice. We ordered the papaya salad and the duck rolls. The flavors in the papaya salad were great, but they lacked that extra punch that many south Asians like to use in their cuisine. The duck rolls, while tasty, were way too small. Entrees were very disappointing. I got the Chicken with Tropical Fruits(w/a water cress salad on the side according to the menu) and my boyfriend ordered the Beef with Crispy Grandma Noodles(w/a side of Kai Lim). What the menu fails to mention is that the word with is used loosely. My chicken was tasty, but had absolutely nothing to do with the uncooked pieces of mango, papaya, and kiwi that were placed beside it. The 3rd part to my dish was an unseasoned, undressed salad of greens. My watercress salad was exactly identical to my boyfriends identical Kai Lim salad. The presentation of these salad, while beautiful, was completely useless and tasteless. I did enjoy the taste I did get of Grandma’s crispy noodles. Much more than the food, the whole ambiance of the restaurant was inconsistent. Service was neither casual, nor fine dining. The décor was eclectic, but the table settings were nice. Once I looked down at the menu, I couldn’t help but notice all the strips of white tape and handwritten corrections — blatant disregards to the price point of the restaurant. The appetizers were not timed to go out together. Then the busser came buy and cleared our plates and half our silverware without replacing it. When we asked the waiter for more silver, he brought us two table settings, napkins and all. In general, I felt that I had experienced what seemed to be a poor attempt at avant garde fusion food, but I would have much rather just gotten something at a cheaper more authentic Vietnamese restaurant for half the price.

I have known Mykha for over 15 years. She is the sweetest old lady you will ever meet. She cooks all the food and comes out to see you enjoy it. I’m pretty sure every time I’ve seen her she has cried, she’s just that sweet. Egg rolls. Best I’ve EVER had. I usually get the fish special which has been amazing every time. The fried catfish is über delicious and is served with fresh fruit. The presentation is always breath taking and edible. I know you’re scared, but you can eat those flowers. Oh yeah, the desserts! There’s this peanut butter torte that we have to get every time we go. I don’t know what else to say… just look at the photo.

The food is out of this world. The only downside was I had trouble finding the website. Their official website is Outstanding.(I don’t understand why anyone would give this place anything less than 5 stars.)

Mykha’s lunch buffet makes my heart sing. I love the abundant range of veggies enhanced by generous use of fresh herbs. The preparations are simple, yet highly creative. She has the magic touch of blending flavors in ways that always works. I always feel so lucky to have this place in Glen Ellyn. As others said, her egg rolls are the best anywhere and she will make them vegetarian if you ask. On the regular menu I love the Grandma Noodles with tofu and veggies. You can request the Grandma noodles not be fried and it is still delicious.

This is my favorite restaurant in all of Chicagoland. Mykha is as sweet as sweet can be, and her cooking is absolutely amazing. My favorite dish is the Basil Tofu, which would melt the heart of the most adamant carnivore. I love the small locally-owned feel of this restaurant; its perfect for a small groups. You won’t want to miss the lettuce wraps or the ice cream!
