My lovely companion and I came for the kalbi, which was delicious. The panchan was plentiful and we got other side dishes including kimchee jigae. Would highly recommend this place. Can’t address the language barrier issue since my companion was Korean born.

SOOOOOGOOOD. There was a bit of a language barrier, but we made it though okay! There wasn’t a single banchan dish that wasn’t super tasty. We got the bulgogi and pork belly bbq and oh man! The bulgogi just melts in your mouth and the pork belly was so fresh and beautifully caramelized on the edges. The portions were huge. My hubby and I could have gotten away with one order of food but oh gosh it was awesome tearing into it all. Def order a beer, it washes it down oh so nicely. Will be back. So glad to have moved closer to a bunch of tasty places. :D

Love this little mom & pop Korean restaurant. The food was tasty and we were so pleased with all the great side dishes!

Solid Korean food! They have a nice variety of little side dishes and their jungols(stews) are good for sharing. My favorite is the tang soo yook(fried pork with sweet and sour sauce) and the sa chul tang(goat stew). Service is pretty good and their prices are slightly high for this area.

Went here for the first time yesterday for lunch. I had the dinner portion of the Bugolgi. It was really good! The ban ham was varied and tasty. Couldn’t even finish it all. Also, the service was excellent. I think the waitress thought it was my first Korean restaurant experience because she asked if I had any questions and if I know how to eat the dish with the lettuce. She also offered to refill my lettuce when I ran out. Great place.

Delicious Korean food. After we ordered, our waitress, who might be the owner, brought out 8 small appetizer dishes. Awesome variety! Perfect to hold us off until our food came out after a long flight from San Diego, Ca. Very generous, hospitable, and pleasant lady. I had the bibimbap and my boyfriend had the codfish casserole which seemed to have endless fish. Shockingly, it was a lot of tasty nonfishy fish even for his giant appetite. The broth was very good and nonfishy. Lots of healthy, delicious veggies. She checked on us regularly. Yummy yogurt dessert drinks. We will stop by again when we’re in the area.

Food looked old and it was cold! my egg on my bee bin bop was dry and hard and it had almost no meat ! If you want great Korean food, go to Mona’s Gourmet takeout… fresh food at the same price! They don’t even have a menu in their web page???

The food is great, the place is definitely a dive, but the food is really really good. We ordered bulgogi, a seafood bi bim bap, pork tonkatsu, and a seafood scallion pancake(haemui pajeon). It was SO much food. The pancake was the size of a medium pizza(and the stand out of dinner). Go hungry, or go with several people and order one, or two, less meals than people. They also start you with a bunch of small sides before the meal, which is traditional, but I’m still not sure how to assemble them or what they all were. As long as you don’t mind it being a little sketchy, yum!

No more driving all the way to Honey Pig for good Korean! Now I just come here. Service is fast, you get a ton of sides that’re delish as well as all-you-can-eat. The dinner prices are so much more expensive than the lunch specials, so I try to just come for lunch. I have no idea what I am ordering most of the time, but it’s amazingly good and comes in huge, shareable portions, so I never complain. They have hot pot, but I’ve yet to try it yet. The sterile white lights are always annoying, but the good food distracts me. The music is very strange here. All three times I’ve been, I’ve heard the Bloodhound Gang’s «The Bad Touch»… a strangely sexual song– I’m not sure what radio station they got going on. O. O When the bring you the check, they will bring you little tiny sweet drinks that’re fruity. Cute!

I think I may have discovered a new pitstop for a great meal whenever I’m jetsetting from BWI(Baltimore Washington International) airport. Having recently returned from vacationing in Iceland, there was an hour plus delay heading back to my place and I was in need of some serious comfort food sustenance after a long flight minus any on-board refreshments. After doing a quick Unilocal search, Woo Chon popped up as a nearby option in Glen Burnie. While the restaurant exterior and internal décor left something to be desired, they definitely made up for it in terms of friendly and prompt service and quality Korean classics, including a bonus selection of Korean/Chinese items such as jjampong, jyajyangmyeon, and tangsuyuk. For our first outing, we went traditional with a cool spicy nyangmyeon, which I was surprised was still available given the time of the year, and a piping hot bowl of duk mandu guk(rice cake/dumpling soup). The most impressive aspects of the meal are the bookends: the opening banchan for its sheer variety/quality and the closing of the meal with a complimentary Yakult palate cleanser. In terms of the main courses, compared to neighboring Korean enclaves with a wider selection of eateries and subspecialists, the offerings here cannot compete with the best in each category, but nonetheless they could hold their own across the board if this place was located within any one of them. For example, both the cold nyangmyeon broth and the guk broth were missing that additional layer of complexity(I suspect MSG but cannot confirm) and the dumpling filling consisted of meat that was not of the highest quality and was a tad overcooked, but these could have been easily overlooked depending on one’s level of hunger or if you are spoiled with having sampled finer renditions. But factoring in its location and exemplary service/speed/portions/price, I would not hesitate to return for a meal prior to takeoff or landing from BWI on any given day. Hope to return with an update on their Korean/Chinese menu items. Verdict(3.5 stars with a half star bump): unquestionably acceptable but just under exceptional

Will never gonna come back here! I ordered over the phone, pick up the food, PAIDFORIT!, came home and come to find out it’s a wrong order. Someone called me and want’s us to pick up the ordered i placed and paid for it. Seriously??? I told them that they gave us the wrong order and since we paid for it, we didn’t bother coming back. She doesn’t care! And insist it’s our fault. The hell!!!

Great authentic Korean food. The lunch specials are the best. Huge portions for $ 10. And they come with a variety of ban chan(side dishes). My lunch favorite is the spicy pork bulgogi. Sometimes it can be almost too spicy for my American palate, even after 5 years in Korea. But the flavor is always great! The dinner prices are a little steep, but the food is still good and the side dishes are more numerous and refillable. At dinner we prefer to get the Chinese dishes like sweet & sour pork, fried rice, and maybe a nice hot Korean soup. If it gets crowded service can suffer a bit because they only have a couple of wait staff. The building and furnishings are also old, but overall the food is worth it. So they changed up my usual lunch combo of spicy pork, rice, salad, soup, and fried dumplings by replacing the dumplings with fresh kimbop. One of the most authentic kimbops I’ve had in America. Yum!

We go here at least once a week for Korean food. Great price. It needs little renovation but all the waitresses are very sweet. Food is okay. I recommend lunch special during weekdays. Portions are huge for only 10 bucks! If you want to try original Korean food other than BBQ on table, try Yook gae jang, spicy soup. Gop dol bibimbop.

This was a great decision on hot Sunday afternoon, the service and the food was really good. I had beef bimbap which was really seasoned good and plenty of vegetables. The owners are very nice and really to pride on their dishes they serve. They serve Ob beer and other Korean drinks as well. If you go to a restaurant based on appearance then maybe it’s not not for you, the food was fresh and seasoned not too hot.

When it comes to international cuisine, one has to rate the eatery based on the location. For example, if Woo Chon served their food in Flushing or L.A., they would go out of business in a matter of months. But, we are talking about a Korean restaurant in Glen Burnie, MD, so I would say that if you are having a desperate craving for Korean food, this place will do at lunch special prices. What we’ve tried here: Jjamppong(spicy seafood noodle soup): –the broth was good(with the help of MSG, of course) –the seafood tasted like they’ve been sitting in the freezer for awhile –noodles — they used kalguksu noodles(rather than jjamppong/jjajangmeon noodles) — not cool Kimchi Soup: –the broth was really bland tasting –they really skimped out on ingredients as in a few pieces kimchi, a few pieces of pork, and a few pieces of rice cake floating around Soondubu Soup(soft tofu): –tasted like a non-Korean person attempted to make this for the very first time in his/her life, who never had it before and therefore, had no idea what the soup was supposed to taste like –had a little bit of cinnamon flavor(WHY!!!) Yukgaejang(spicy soup with beef and veggies): –surprisingly good(I will most likely only order this going forward when I have a desperate Korean food craving) Banchan(side dishes): –NO –really bad — flavorless is one thing but they actually tasted bad Only go to Woo Chon if you have no other choice for Korean food.

Bul go gi has too much sauce. Lunch bul go gi, because of the sides, is plenty enough food for the average person though. Sides are wonderful! Not one of the best Korean restaurants I’ve been to, but overall… average, if you’re craving Korean. Service was perfect though!

Great food! I ordered the kimchi with beef and tofu. Perhaps most people will not like it but I lived in Japan for a couple of years, have to Korean and China. The service was extremely good and fast. I thought I was going to wait there forever. I don’t normally order the things that everybody else would order just to see what the other food tastes like. The restaurant looks like it’s been there for a while but that’s how I kind of knew it was going to be better than others. Although I loved I have it give it 4 stars because it wasn’t korean spicy. Even the Kimchi in Korea I remember it was burning my mouth. This was just overpowered vinegar.

I was a little nervous walking in for lunch because the outside of the restaurant doesn’t look great(it still has private parking signs up from a previous Korean restaurant), but I’m so glad I did. The inside was very nice. I was quickly seated and served very fresh banchan(side dishes). The kimchi was some of the best tasting side dish kimchi I’ve had. I ordered the Haemul Gobdol Bibimbap(seafood, bibimbap, hot stone bowl) and it was delicious and a very large portion. I left feeling very full after a healthy meal that only cost $ 11. Great Korean food spot and probably a great place to take someone if they’re trying Korean food for the first time.

Ok, so I have been super busy with this thing called«Life» and I have been seriously lagging with my reviews but nothing lights a fire under me like a bad experience and I have to Unilocal about it quickly as to warn others or at least go in with caution. My Family and I went in on a weekend during a late lunch hour and we were starving, starving for some good Korean and being that it was closer then all the Korean hot spots I was familiar with. this Unilocaler was practically giddy if it was a good turnout. WRONG… the place on the outside looked as if it had been abandoned for years and the inside seemed to match. That’s ok though because I read the reviews about it’s appearance and I was going to be good so as long as the food was great. I didn’t realize that you could have such bad customer service that it could make one forget the food was not that bad. So we had in mind what we wanted to order prior to coming in, our go-to’s when ordering Korean to get a feel on their menu. I asked for the spicy pork BBQ(Which btw, figured out I wasn’t going to cook it myself once it arrived already cooked in front of my face) and my husband ordered the Dolsot Bibimbap to which we specifically asked if we could have it with a raw egg on the side or on top so we may mix it on ourselves into the hot pot… the only way we know and enjoy it. She reassured us after repeating our order to us that we would get it that way. I then at the end debated but asked if we could get half an order of the Seafood pancake instead of the full order since we had a lot of food already. She said she couldn’t do that but that’s fine, we wanted it anyways. For our daughters, we asked for simple jap chae noodles tossed in just some soy and nothing else. She said she couldn’t do that either. So we just ordered some steamed rice for the girls with the idea we would get them something, somewhere else afterwards. The bon chon side dishes came in and those were actually really good and some I had never had before so it’s hard for me to comment on them(I have pics). Then the rice for the girls came and it was obviously way over cooked(I have a close up pic of that as well). An Asian restaurant that can’t make steamed rice??? I should’ve gotten up right there and left. I was hungry so I overlooked it. Then our main dishes came out, mine was abundant and looked great, tasted great with a good kick to it already. My husband’s Dolsot Bibimbap had a hard fried egg on top. Are you kidding me? We called her over and asked for the the raw egg and she shook her to and said«no». Had we known she had no intention of giving us our food, the way we wanted. we would’ve opted for something else on the menu. So we start eating and realized.“Where is our Seafood Pancake appetizer and how come we didn’t have it before our entrees?” I actually had to get up to find her because she was the only one working the floor for the whole place. She walked me back to my table and she said«too much food»…wth? Did she just make an executive decision to NOT bring us the appetizer that we ordered? You have to be kidding me?! We just stared at her, like«Are you serious?» At this point, I had just had it and I contained myself because she just looked at us like she didn’t understand the problem. Then about 5 mins later my husband noticed a dead gnat in his water. I just got up, went to the water counter and got some more water in my glass so I could share with him. She had seen me and quickly came over. I just told her that there was a bug in his glass and she went over to see, nodded her head and went back out on the floor. This place I will NEVER come back to because having that kind of multiple frustration over lunch on our weekend is so not worth it.

I have found a new favorite dish on their menu… so, I will be first to take back the 2 stars I previously gave them and upgrade to 4 stars! The sam gyup bo sam aka steamed pork belly, assorted veggies, and oyster heaven on earth… is HOLYWOW! I lived in Korea several years ago, and I’m so mad that I did not discover this dish there. But… thanks to Woo Chon, I have re-discovered my sense of adventure when it comes to Korean food. The galbi bibimbap(beef mixed rice bowl) was also a hit! Although, they could have(as I’ve mentioned before) made it with a fried egg so you don’t have to ask for it. The haemul pajun(seafood pancake) is delicious and perfect, as always. I’m glad we came back, and I’m even more glad that I’ve found a new favorite! BTW, portions are massive. Come hungry or bring a really adventurous friend
