I am not a golfer and know nothing about golf. This place showed up when I typed in ‘children golf Portland’ on Google and that’s why we went. The entrance is kind of hard to find. My GPS didn’t behave well and, had my kid not noticed the sign for ‘kid golf’, we’d have just passed it. It’s behind an apartment complex off the road. My kid was excited for being in a ‘real’(not mini) golf course. Yes, as jahbless says, the place gives you a feeling that you’re in someone’s backyard(or actually on some empty land with grass and tree)

Great starter course for our boys. They learned to respect the course and other golfers here, but you get what you pay for. It’s like playing in someone’s well kept backyard for a few bucks. On a crowded day you’ll get a few old folks or 5 year olds slowing things down, but that’s when you play a couple of balls and enjoy the sun. Nobody is here to train for Augusta. And well worth it. You’ll never feel self-conscious here unless you’re intimidated by the 2 cats that wander the course. My older boys have outgrown it, but my 4 year old is still right at home. It’s a bit of a haul from our house, but no worse than the soccer, football, and basketball expeditions we have take every weekend. And of you show up without clubs or a ball, just buy a donated iron and putter for $ 4 in the back of the«clubhouse» and keep them in your trunk. I’m certain my golf loving friends would rather raise their youth at Pumpkin Ridge solely, but this place made the game fun and relaxed for our entire family until we got good enough to keep the ball on our fairway. .. most of the time.

Good starter course to take kids to. Certainly worth the cheap price.
