This place was a disappointment. Overpriced, horrible customer service. You’d do better going to Chili’s…Ordered oysters, prosciutto w goat cheese, crab cakes and risotto and seabass. Incredibly slow service. Prosciutto app was the best thing we had. Oysters were not chilled, risotto was way under cooked and seabass tasted like cheap burnt tilapia. After discussing the issues with the waiter he offered a side dish? Really? No apologies, no attempt to make it right. Ambience was basically a bunch of large birthday parties, complete with whistles, drunks and obnoxious people. Not classy at all for the price your paying. They obviously do not care about their customers and I certainly will not be back.

I came here on a Tuesday night… The chicken noodle soup had an eerie Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup taste to it, but the chicken was better and it had a kick. The seared Ahi steak was a bit dry while the crust they rolled it in was amazing, it was also a bit tough for Ahi. The rice was riddled with uncooked pieces, while the squash was over cooked and the broccoli was undercooked. The garlic twist on all of it was pleasant and not too overpowering. The atmosphere was a delight, the band was pleasant, but not too boisterous. The lighting was ideal. The staff tries. It appears to be busy for a Tuesday night as there are only three servers for the whole restaurant and while it’s not packed, it is busy. I am actually impressed as my server succeeded at being personable and wasn’t cookie cutter about it either. The bar appeared well stocked with several higher end alcohol while the wine list was absolutely mesmerizing. All in all, I’d say that the meal was worth it. I would recommend it to my friends.

My wife and I went here for her company Xmas party. Service was extremely slow. Took about 30 – 45 mins from the time we ordered to receiving our main dish. There were about 30 in our group and my wife’s chicken caesar salad was the last dish to arrive. Seriously, It’s a salad. That’s not even the worse part. Myself and three others in the group got food poisoning from their Chicken Marsala. You would think that would be a pretty safe dish. I had horrible symptoms for two days(i’ll spare you the details). You’d expect food poisoning from maybe a seafood dish, but not chicken. Makes me questions about their other dishes. DON’T EATHERE!

My husband and I stumbled across this restaurant and were pleasantly surprise. The food, service, and ambiance was great. We decided to eat at the bar because the access to the TV and the live music. The service at the bar was good. The food was so good. We had the NY steak and the Rib eye and we enjoyed every bite. The mac and cheese is a must! The portions were perfect. The live music was perfect and the people around made our dinner so nice to enjoy. My husband and I will like to make this stop a weekly date for us.

Their lunch and dinner is delicious. Cocktails are great and correctly poured. Their live music on weekends is great. The atmosphere of the music, people having a good time, and the aroma of great tasting food warms one up. Enjoy anything on their menu! I personally love the grilled shrimp and avocado for a start.

We ate here on Thanksgiving Day with a 4PM reservation. We were seated immediately. There were plenty of tables left and only a few more folks arrived between 4PM and 5PM. Milias uses an abbreviated menu on those holidays that they are open. Choices were limited to turkey, ham, or prime rib dinners. Our delightful server transported our meals in a timely fashion. Portions were large enough that we took about half of our food home for two future meals. Note: Their«take home» cartons are a bit flimsy. With tax and tip our tab(including two glasses of wine) was $ 76. All in all, a pleasant experience and much needed break for the lady of the house that prepares our dinner meals 360 days out of the year.

Really wanted to like this place. The food is good if you can get it. Came for bday dinner. After waiting forever just to give our order my Mother in law didn’t get her food, told it was on its way. Finally after half the table was done eating we where told they had forgotten her meal and it should be out any min. We spoke with waiter and expressed that we shouldn’t have to pay for her meal,(most restaurants would have already offered) the waiter argued with us! Then finally only gave us half off here meal!!! We then spoke to the manager we finally comped the meal. Never an apology for horrible service from anyone!!! Manager just said ok and walked off. What?! Will not be back.

My husband and I took his daughter and husband to dinner on Tuesday night, November 3. We had a lovely dinner there: sand dabs, lamb shank, fish and chips, lamb chops. But at 2 am the next morning, both my husband and i were struck with diarrhea and head aches. The only food that we both had was their delicious house salad, dressed with their house tarragon/citrus dressing. I was hesitant to post this, as I know this restaurant takes their craft seriously. I did call the restaurant and speak to them; the woman I spoke to indicated that it may have been the greens delivered by their supplier, but another guest in our party also had a salad and did not get sick. I also called the Health Department and they said there had never been any complaints or problems before but that they would inspect the restaurant. They did and the owner told me that they had passed all the tests, which is good. The owner did call and speak to me and said they were sorry I was ill, which shows a good attention to detail. I am glad we are feeling better and I am glad it is over. I wish The Milias Restaurant the best.

The reason why I am writing 4 stars instead of 2 is because the wait staff was amazing, our waiter’s name was James and even though our reservation was at 530 and we finally got our food at 650 he made it tolerable. The food ended up being good but if it wasn’t for our incredibly attentive waiter waiting that long would have been irritating to me. He went above and beyond.

Unfortunately for what restaurant charges it is subpar. The food was not good and the bartender did not make good drinks. For example I ordered a grey goose vodka club soda with lime and I expected like at most restaurants in Morgan hill a vodka with club soda and lime wedges on the side, except they gave me a vodka and club soda with lime syrup. Then when I ordered a glass of champagne it was incredibly flat. I ordered the filet medium rare and it was rare and there was a hair on it. The vegetables on the side weren’t crisp and the macaroni and cheese was flavorless. I have also been there for brunch and the omelettes are not flavorful or impressive. For the price you pay they absolutely need to step up their game.

Art the waiter made the experience. The food above average. The low rating was the music in the bar! Either put up a full wall or stop calling it a restaurant. It was Sunday night at 6 pm. The bar was noisy and the singer with sound and guitar was even louder. We couldn’t talk at our table. What happened to nice background music while people eat their dinner. Then music around 8 or 9 pm?

Great start, learning History of this 133 year old establishment. Beautiful floors and restoration. Drinks and notable wine selection. Appetizers are fabulous.

Okay guys so we came to gilroy for the outlets and garlic… And to be honest I was very very satisfied with the outlets… The restaurants not so much, the downtown gilroy has a ton of restaurants but mostly mexican and restaurants that doesn’t serve food with garlic the Milias was supposedly one of the best nicest restaurants in the town! Don’t get me wrong the atmosphere is awesome, they had a live DJ and the place was packed, but the food was okay… I mean where is the garlic??? The food was something I can make at home… If you are stationed in the worlds garlic Capitol pls be mindful of your tourists… After all your town is the garlic Capitol of the world and if your the best restaurant of the town then we expect garlic!!! Well if the the fanciest restaurant pls serve more garlic, I can’t speak for the locals because I’m sure they love you guys! The restaurant is seriously awesome and the servers are great! Good wine list and decent price but food— well I’m only one person but the food is okay. Anyways if I come back to gilroy for shopping, I will come back for the atmosphere… Hopefully this restaurant will have the basics.: like roasted garlic for appetizers? Anything garlic?! Well it’s your restaurant you do what you want. So if your comming to gilroy and you don’t care in Their menu, then this restaurant is great! I had the blackened chicken pasta! The whole dish had no freaken garlic on it…

It has been a few years since I was here last hoping they have worked out the«start-up» bugs. The food and service was just average. The live music was just overpowering. Not sure why the owners think loud music is what dinners want. You just can not hear the person you are with. In the future we will continue to eat at Old City Hall… just across the street.

This is the only«upscale» restaurant in downtown Gilroy which says a lot about this struggling area. You’d think with all the gated and golf course communities moving in that this little downtown would really prosper but it continues to struggle agains the bustling Morgan Hill. Mila’s opened its doors a few years ago and I’ve dined here several times. The decore is confusing to say the least. As you walk in the front door, the large bar is to you left. I feel like it just doesn’t fit with the rest of the restaurant. First of all, it’s HUGE and clunky for the modern, classy feel I think they are striving for. The dinning area is cold, bare and when we came last week … empty and lunch. There was literally one other table dinning for lunch and a large part having their Holiday luncheon. Maybe it’s the lighting? There absolutely needs to be candles on the tables and maybe a bud vase with a single red rosé or something to add softness and color against the plane black and white color palate. But I do love the beautiful chandaler. Although the ambiance needs tweaking, the service is great. We were warmly greeted and seated quickly. Our waiter took our drink orders right away and kept checking on us until we knew what lunch items we wanted to order. I’ve had the soup and sandwich combo a few times which is alway yummy and a great value. This time I wanted something different so I ordered the French dip with a side salad and my boss ordered the pesto pasta. The pasta plate was HUGE. Enough for 2 for sure so bring your appetite. It was creamy and flavorful. My French dip was initially very disappointing. At $ 10 I was shocked to see the size and gerth of my sandwich. It was so SMALL and hardly any meat inside. Although it was tasty, I just couldn’t get over the size and I really felt cheated, for the price, it should be twice as large. The salad was good size, fresh and perfect to replace the fries. Overall, I think the food is good but the lunch priced are a tad high for the size. The ambiance is confusing but with minor tweaking it could be great. Suggestion on the menu … include a few of the dinner items. I would have loved to have been able to order the scallops.

The food is not worth $ 13 for a small omelet with few pieces of ham, bacon and veggies inside and home fries, nor does it worth $ 18 for a small piece of steak, two eggs and home fries. Half of your plate is stuffed with home fries. Half of your plate is the protein. Service is friendly, but not very proactive. They seated us to a corner where they couldn’t see us, and we had to go to the front to return our check.
