Premium Cabinets

I bought about 6K worth of cabinetry from David in June and had his friend Ray (from Montana) install them. Ray did a fairly good job but did not totally complete the install even though I paid him in full. He never returned to finish the job as promised many times. Also the cabinets are now starting to have some quality and cracking issues and I have emailed David several times with no response. I have tried calling as well but his number is now non functional which probably means he is no longer in business. I will be filing complaints with the BBB about both of these guys but to anyone considering a transaction with either one consider this post a fair warning!

I called and had a question about something related to cabinets, and David pointed me in the right direction to resolve the issue on my own, rather than telling me I should pay him to take care of the issue. That shows a lot of integrity.

You are correct David W. I am not a customer of yours and NEVER will be. I WAS a potential customer of yours. As stated in my initial review. I called and scheduled an appt. With you, not your «competitor w a close name», at the same time I took the whole day off work to meet you. You never even had the courtesy to call me and let me know you weren’t going to make it. Guess I should of known better to even call someone advertising on Craigslist. Live and learn.
What really boggles my mind at this point is a couple things. First contact made to me on this review was from Kate W. Her review goes into how great you are and even included multiple pictures. I’m asking myself while reading her response, how in the world could a customer contact me about a negative review on this company unless she actually works for or is affiliated in some way with this company? Then David W owner of premium cabinets contacts me via email claiming to never of even talked to me? Now a couple days later premium cabinets has two more 5 star reviews? Neither one of which are from the PHOENIX metro area? Owner of Premium cabinets calls me out as a liar! Wow!!! Completely lies about scheduling me in, self posted positive reviews (I believe), and calling me the liar. David W I’m guessing I’m not the only one that feels this way about your business practices. Wonder how many more self reviews he’ll post. As I stated in my initial review, we went with a much better, professional company that does what they say they’re going to do. David W being in business myself for many years, this is NOT how you handle customers. I hope you learn this some day.

This is a long one, get your reading glasses!
We have several apartment buildings in the Gilbert and surrounding Phoenix areas. When it was time to upgrade one of our buildings we had to really watch our budget since there were 7 units to remodel. We shopped around at the regular big box stores and a few specialty kitchen and bath stores when we stumbled across Premium Cabinets and David. NOT TO BE MISTAKEN FOR Premium Wholesale Cabinets (See my review of them on their page).
David is new to the cabinet business, but that didn’t turn us off, in fact we felt he was eager to learn and help us understand about anything we weren’t clear about. He has a really great support system with other dealers around the country, and we thank «Ray in Montana» for his efforts helping us as well.
Once we were comfortable with the product we’d chosen, which was really great quality btw, we gave David our floor plan for each unit. 3 units were unique, and 4 units had the same layout. It’s a good thing David came out to our units to do a final measure though. What we thought were 4 of the same units turned out to have subtle differences that if you hadn’t put a tape measure on it you’d think it was the same. It wasn’t. Thankfully David was aware that though they looked the same, builders often «fudge» walls and make on site changes to work around issues in original plans. If he hadn’t come to do that we would have had at least a dozen cabinets that would not have fit, and that would have killed our budget. Our cabinet budget for this job was $ 25,000 not including labor. Just cabinets and hardware. Every single place we shopped priced us well over our budget, some more than double what we planned. Premium came in at a surprising $ 22,222 which was not only below budget, but a number we won’t soon forget!
Order time was very reasonable and our cabinets arrived in about 4 weeks. Definitely on the quicker end of our experiences with other cabinet shops where 6 – 8 weeks was standard. There was one broken cabinet in the shipment, but David informed us, and quickly got a replacement on his next shipment.
Here’s where «Ray from Montana» came back into the scene. David refers/​uses Ray, another premium cabinets dealer who is also a contractor, to install cabinets. Ray is always working this area and the reason David’s got started and set up the location here in Gilbert. You get to know these people pretty well on projects this big.
Ray was able to install all of the cabinets for us in just over 2 weeks, about 2 days per unit, and took care of some of the «hidden» issues behind the old cabinets we didn’t know about till we took them out. That probably added 2 – 3 days to the installation time.
When all was said and done we saved more money and dealt with less heartache dealing with these guys than any other trade we used in our building.
All in all our experience with the guys at Premium Cabinets was wonderful. We have 7 really great looking units that we know tenant will be proud to come home to. It’s rare these days to find businesses that truly care about the outcome of your project and aren’t just there for a sale.
We have other buildings in the Phoenix area and when we update the next vacant units there’s no doubt where we’ll make our cabinet purchase.

My husband and I recently relocated to the area and were told about Premium Cabinets through close friends. Spoke with the owner and had a great experience. Not only was he professional, but he kept us in the loop the entire way, and was very accommodating. We couldn’t be happier with the service or the end result. If you shop around as much as I do, include them in your list of companies to call! 5 stars all the way!
