If zero stars were possible that’s what they would get. 24 hours after my workout at Orange theory I was put in the hospital with Rhabdomylosis, a serious medical condition caused by much TOO strenuous of a workout in an UNTRAINED body. The muscle fibers begin to break down into a toxin that destroys your kidneys and can cause kidney damage and eventual death if not treated promptly. Thankfully I was put on IV therapy along with other medications. However, the pain and suffering that come along with this diagnosis was absolutely unnecessary had someone assessed me and my current fitness level and then taken APPROPRIATEACTION prior to the work out at Orange theory, this should never have happened. When I spoke to Sunny on the phone she acted like she had no idea what Rhabdomylosis was stating she thought it was«just when you worked out too hard»… The so-called certifications that these people carry ensure that they are properly trained and educated thoroughly on Rhabdomylosis and my issue was quickly swept under the rug with a statement of «I guess this work out just is not for you». My membership fee is set to be voided, where had she returned my call on the day I had called, rather than waiting, it never would have been charged in the first place… But that’s neither here nor there at this point. Orange theory needs to seriously assess their new clients current fitness levels better and provide modifications without being asked for them(I was personally never provided modifications by an instructor)… I was able to do most of the work out… Should I have done that? No! If you look up the history of this condition there are people dying from it doing CrossFit etc. and I think Orange theory has another thing coming to them if they don’t change some things up! Luckily, I’m not a fatality. Be very careful.

Originally I went kicking and screaming because my wife wanted to try it out. I am a weight lifter not an «aerobics class» guy. This is NOTHING like I expected. It’s great for beginners and advanced athletes weight lifters and Ironmen/women. Best workout since the military I’ve ever had. Highly recommend.

The theory behind orange theory is that you burn more fat if you work out in an «orange» zone. It goes: grey, green, orange, and red. Grey is resting, green is comfortable working out, orange is pushing it, and red is craziness. They give you a heart rate monitor so you can see exactly what level you are at every minute of the workout on large screens throughout the gym. Nobody needs to tell you to go harder or push more, because you can look up and see that you need to go harder or faster. It’s fascinating. At first, I thought I was dying when I started out. Well, I still think I’m dying. But I keep coming back for more. I definitely recommend it to everyone I know. It’s fun to physically see your progress and know 100% how you did at the end of each class. I’ve only really interacted with the trainer Sunny, but I’ve heard the rest of the Gilbert trainers are fun. I adore Sunny though. One thing I should mention! They have cancellation fees. If you don’t cancel or reschedule your class within 12 hours, you’ll have to pay a fee. I personally like that, because it makes you more accountable, but I can see that some people would have issues with it.

Love this place! Originally I signed up for 8 sessions a month but after a few intro classes I was hooked. In 6 weeks I’m down 10 lbs and several inches. And honestly feel healthier. I’ve noticed my stretching has improved, my technique, weight size(for strength training) and running speed on the treadmill. Most of the staff already knows me on a first name basis. I feel I get real individual attention with motivation of working out in small groups. I’ve been a weekend runner the past handful of years but this place is truly helping me build my strength training knowledge. They’re motivating, patient, energetic and encouraging. And each coach brings their own personality to their class. Highly recommended! Thanks OTF!

Great workout! Super clean and fresh studio. I love the 3 part format and heart monitor to track my progress. I’ve trained with Jason, Kenpo and Champ. They all have slightly different styles but all are knowledgeable and encouraging. It might seem pricey, but if you break it down to per workout cost it’s a good deal. Having to sign up for class keeps me accountable. There’s an app for that which makes it easy! One area for improvement could be to offer a brief explanation of the numbers on the screen, rowing numbers«101».like an Orange Theory Basics class. When you’re in the class working out it takes awhile to catch on to all terminology. Oh also last positive note… front desk help Shelby is always welcoming and helpful.
