DVR is excellent. I bought a DVR+ and a wifi adapter from them. Had good service from the unit.

last week I bought the Channel Master DVR+ and the smartenna, along with a new TV. The antenna brings in 67 channels from the antennas at South Mountain and about 10 are broadcast in HD — and it’s FREE. I’m paying NO monthly fees to anyone. I Installed on Thursday, and Friday a friend wanted to come over for some scotch and talk about his Dad’s impending Big Exit — so I went to the system and looked at the on-screen program guide, and it said«Watch this program or Record this program» — clicked one button and walked away and everything worked out fine — excellent quality picture and really simple, intuitive commands and remote control system. I am a HUGE fan — will post more later as I find out all the qualities of the system. Oh BTW — the customer service is EXCELLENT — I asked how to delete the preachers and Spanish-language channels and got a response same day with simple instructions — much easier to channel surf now.

The Channel Master DVR arrived as advertised. It worked right out of the box as advertised. The remote, while nothing to write home about, is functional and controls the DVR just fine. If the remote was backlit, I would add another star, but nobody’s perfect. Half of my other remotes aren’t backlit either. So far, the picture is crisp and the functionality is everything they said it would be

I purchased a DVR through Amazon it was a Channel Master DVR. I bought it September 18th of 2014 and I just called today which is December 5th. The reason for my call was my remote is not working. Living in Mesa and finding out the location is in Gilbert(3 miles away) they sent me through an entire process of a warranty claim, and service call for somebody to call me back and set up an appointment just to get me a new remote. Within 24 hours of a work day. So that means Monday for me. How insane is that? I just need a new remote. The product isn’t even four months old!!! I have a year warranty. The way the DVR was made it does not have any buttons on the machine itself, so you have to use the remote to turn on your TV and the DVR. Now I have to dismantle my DVR, losing all my prescheduled recorded programs and hook my HD antenna directly to my TV, thus losing everything on my DVR that is going to be recorded in the next few days.(Or until a service tech calls?). This is such an inconvenience I can’t believe they won’t just replace my remote. I can drive there! I will update this review as it takes place, I am not happy about this! I will also be writing a review on Amazon.

Don’t believe CM’s hype about how carefully«open box» items are tested, inspected and restored. I have three CM products. Two years ago I bought the 4 bay bowtie from ebay and am very happy with it. A couple of weeks ago, I bought the 8 bay as an «open box» from CM because of their good reputation and their restoration claims. NOT restored to original cond. Shabby. Antenna arrived with bent elements, missing hardware and poor packaging. I had to go to the Home Depot to shop for missing hardware. Two days later, I found the missing hardware at the curb where it fell out of the box due to poor packaging(not sealed at the corners), wingnuts not screwed into antenna or placed into a plastic bag. This weekend I ordered a CM-7777 pre-amp but I bought it from ebay because I no longer trust CM.
