This place is freaking awsome! We stayed the night just a perfect nights sleep. Restaurant is decked out in all things space. A Trekies nirvana! Eggs and bacon and hashbrowns complimentary but prepared to perfection. Staff here are a hoot. I love this place. Its a true American travel gem

Stopped in here for a late breakfast and was not disappointed. Everything was as ordered. The bacon was perfect and the coffee fresh. It’s a fun little place with some funky UFO themed decorating.

The food was not good. Too much meat in the burritos and burned rice. The water had an after taste and did not seem to be filtered. We won’t come back here. Absolutely disgusting meal.

This is NOT a good place to eat. Prices are enormously high, portions exceptionally small, service annoyingly slow. I paid over $ 25 for two small omelet and coffee. This restaurant would not survive if there were other competing restaurants in the area. Be prepared to pay up for small portions and poor servive

Pretty fly for a space guy. We had the pleasure of stopping by on our way through town, which I highly recommend if you’re in a like situation; for a leg stretcher and cup of coffee. The ambience of this place is enough to share alone and almost equally confusing. The coffee was delightful and completely satisfying the service was pleasant and the place was clean. Based on fellow diners selections I would highly recommend the burger, it still leaves mouthwatering memories. From what I saw this place is nothing gourmet but it’s executed well.

This place is great for one reason: it’s connected to the space age lodge best western. I will visit this place each and every time I come through here. Love this place so much my god. Space is so cool. I love space. Is this review long enough yet. Lord. Ok I’ll keep typing for a second

Standard boring roadside diner with a good story and not enough kitch. You’d think it’d be spaced out to deep space 9, but it’s not :(The premise from the sixties is excitement for the Man’s exploration of the next frontier. What we’ve got is a remodel with decent bones & good murals, a little green man trinket area, & mediocre to poor truck stop fare. With respect to the restaurant. Food — boring. Service — could be better. This place is all about space & they need to embrace it! Follow nasa news, get a Mars rover model & a pic with the guys outta ASU that helped design it. Add murals as we make discoveries. Make the bathroom unforgettable — a must for any roadside attraction if you want people to keep coming back on their way by. I wanted to see a mix of the Jetsons, sixties space craziness, hard astronomy, & on going imagination. What I got was a mug with a flying saucer & an option to buy.

To start with, stood around in Libby 5 min before anyone acknowledged us. The after order took 40 min to get order for 2 hamburger. Waitress never stopped by in 40 mins. Portion were small, prices were high. Nothing good to say about this place.

We were sight seeing in Gila Bend and wanted to try a local restaurant. We had to wait for ten minutes for the wait staff to clean a table. Once we set down it took about fifteen minute before they took our drink order. When the waitress brought our drinks my wife’s tea had a fly floating on top. We cancelled our order and left.

What a great place to eat. Nice variety menu with inexpensive meals, great service, and very clean and updated facility. I had french toast with bacon, 7.49. 6 halves of toast, 3 slices of bacon. Partner had biscuits and gravy, 3.99 + chicken fried steak, 2.99. Very good. Good portions, good coffee and cute souvenirs.

We walked in ordered a soda and left after looking at the prices and reviews. The salad bar was not worth $ 7.99. It looked old and dirty. The waitress was sweet but I couldn’t eat there for those prices and after we saw the reviews!

Seems like the only show in town and it’s fair with decent coffee. The gift shop is adorable. The bathrooms were clean too. Service was friendly. See my review of the hotel as my breakfast was included with my stay.

Sadly a much hyped spot in Gila Bend that doesn’t deliver on the promise. Poor service, long wait times, wrong orders when food finally arrives. Avoid this place for food. But do use as a toilet pit stop. Clean bathrooms are the only redeeming feature. You will get better food and service at Sophia’s down the road.

We came in for the salad bar, but it wasn’t worth the $ 7.99 they were asking. The atmosphere is great with space related paintings and photos on the walls. I had a Double Jupiter burger which was massive. My wife had the French Dip. The au jus was bland. We had a side of ranch dressing for the onion rings that didn’t taste right. It was like tartar sauce without the pickles. The waitress was sweet, but never came back to our table after she served us. Overall, it was okay.

We’ve driven past this place a million times when we drive to and from Mexico but have never stopped. This trip we decided to stop on a friends suggestion. The place was clean but seemed strange. Oddly there was hardly anyone there. The plate ware was cute and the menu was simple. Our table had pancakes, eggs, bacon and bagels. Service was slightly slow, typical for Gila Bend. Everything arrived hot and to order. Hard to screw up breakfast.

I wish I could give no or negative stars. This was by far the worst, and honestly embarassing restaurant experience I have ever had. Traveling back from San Diego, it seemed like an ideal fun place to stop — a nice independent restaurant rather than some bland chain. Upon arriving, the restaurant appeared clean, and had a rather simple menu of paired down basic selections. I ordered a chocolate milkshake and chicken fingers, my wife the chicken fried steak and our eight year old the mac n cheese from the kids menu. Shake was underwhelming, thin and tasted like Hersheys syrup. Whatever. Then the food arrived. I have never been served straight up frozen food like this before. I know many(most) chains have their kitchens full of frozen items that are warmed up and prepared, and even many small restaurants do for time and cost savings. What they don’t do however is serve Tyson chicken fingers, kraft mac and cheese and TV dinner chicken fried steak. This is no exaggeration, we confronted the server who was very polite and apologetic, and admitted that indeed everything is frozen and microwaved or flash fried. I can’t stress enough how insulting it was to be charged 40 dollars for less than cafeteria quality food. I would expect better from an elementary school, but it was very much on that level. Years ago I had been there and it was decent road trip food. Apparently there is new management who only cares about cost. I predict they will lose money by absolutely everyone avoiding it, and I encourage a management and leadership change.

I’ve eaten at some real shit holes before being a trucker and all . But this isn’t one of them, very clean inside(restroom also) friendly staff and fast service today, food was ok, I just wish they didn’t put sliced cheese on my Huevos Ranchero. Probably some white boy in the kitchen that didn’t know better. Prices are fair I’ll be back again to try something different. ;)

Ambiance is cool. We had Mexican food items off the menu and they were good, nothing great, but a cool little spot to visit and experience. I had a shredded beef chimichanga with beans and rice. The beans were good, the rice was horrible. The chimichanga itself good with a enchalada sauce on it.

A good place to stop in Gila Bend if, well, you must stop in Gila Bend. As a regular of the Phoenix to San Diego and back crowd, I’ll confess that I usually think of Gila Bend only as a rest room stop or at best a source of fast food. Every once in a while, however, you crave a little more and the Space Age Restaurant delivers nicely. It is much more contemporary than you would think, given the funky architecture of the adjoining Space Age Lodge. The reason? A fire many years ago. After the fire struck, they placed a banner out front maintaining that they had been attacked by aliens. You have to admire a sense of humor in adversity. I just wish I’d been able to dine in the original restaurant, with its original space décor. This version of the Space Age Restaurant neatly features modern space themed murals, friendly servers, decent food and yes, since it’s in Gila Bend, clean rest rooms. Breakfast can be dominated by folks staying at the neighboring lodge, vouchers in hand, but on a recent visit we noted many locals. The look of the salad bar was a surprise, a surprise in that it looked very good. We stuck with breakfast offerings, even though it was later in the day. Solid. Basic. No surprises. Service could have been a little faster, given that we were on the road and anxious to get going, but nothing to really complain about. A good experience overall. And did I mention the nice rest rooms?
