I remember the first time I played this course. I looked at the card on the first hole and thought it sounded like an executive course. I was ready to shoot the round of a lifetime. I think I finished with an 80. Stonewall is a short, no an extremely short golf course. But the teeth are sharp. Fairways are generous but if you miss them you are definitely in trouble. Even the best golfers will be hitting out of the pine trees several times. This is a course where you can leave driver in the bag and score. But some holes are so short its easy to give into the temptation to drive the green. Big mistake! There are a couple of signature holes. No 8 is a short par three with a tee shot that drops a hundred feet or so over water. Just a chip shot but Ive never been inside of twenty feet. And No 17 is a Par 5 that begins with an uphill blind tee shot that leaves a long downhill iron that must be bent left around trees. Two beautiful holes. Prices are low and they offer daily specials. Never have I spent more than four hours here even on weekends. Definitely not a course to walk as the distance between greens and tees vary. Be careful on No 8. Ive heard someone was killed in a cart accident going down the hill from the tee.
