Found a gem on the way back from Lake of the Ozarks, everything was absolutely delicious, fresh, with a great atmosphere. The roasted red pepper gouda soup was amazing and the kids couldn’t quite raving about their wraps and burgers. My youngest kept reminding me to get this review done because he loved it so much.

Stopped for lunch while on a ride in the area. The owners were very nice and accomodating. It is clean and decorated with antiques and other quaint things… even old doors for tables. I ordered a corned beef reuben, minus sauerkraut and thousand island, but with swiss cheese and the horseradish dressing. VERY good! The pasta salad was a little dry and lacked some flavor… maybe could have used some Italian dressing or seasoning… but it was still pretty good. Hubby ordered the roast beef sandwich, also very good. Will definitely be back.

Everything we have tried is really great, tasty and fresh. I can recommend the turkey panini with potato salad or the curry chicken salad sandwich. Nice to have such a great place to eat out here in b the country.

It is always a pleasure to find a great place off the beaten path. The Bistro is good enough to plan a day trip around. If you come out from St Louis go antiquing, stop by a festival and aim for an afternoon meal there. I had a chicken bacon wrap that was just wonderful. As I ate it I was able to pick out all of the fresh flavors since they were combined for my sandwich and not blended in a steel bin. The place is easy to find easy to park and spotlessly clean. You can have a beer, soda or coffee without feeling like an alien for choosing whatever you prefer.

For a small town especially, this food is 5 Star. I had the Greek Salad with the added Gyro meat and my husband had the Rueben with Turkey instead of Corned Beef. We got an appetizer of some of the best hummus I have ever had. Very creamy, garlicky and totally yummy. The Greek Salad was plenty big with a generous amount of Kalamata Olives and fresh crunchy green leaf lettuce. There was plenty of meat on the salad without overwhelming the vegetables. My husband’s Turkey Rueben which, he found refreshing since he likes the combination of ingredients but doesn’t not like corned beef, was very fresh tasting with a generous amount of meat and fresh Marbled Rye. It came with a choice of chips, red potato salad or pasta salad. He chose the Red Potato Salad which he very much enjoyed, again fresh. This location has had several failed restaurants. I hope these new business owners are able to overcome the stigma of this. Greek in Gerald? Genius. Franklin County needs some Mediterranean. I can’t wait to try some other menu items. Wishing they had some Saganaki though. While not all of the food may not be completely authentic, there was good variety, lots of flavors to please differing palates and a definite desire to please from the staff.

Found the Mill Restaurant on Unilocal when passing through Gerald, MO on Hwy 50. What a wonderful surprise. Nice menu selection not your typical greasy burger and fries fare. Food was quite good, the owners were very welcoming. The atmosphere of the old mill is very interesting with lots of history. Beer and wine available, will definitely stop to eat here again.

The décor, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff was five stars; however, the food knocked it down. Let me start off by saying that I LOVE Greek food and have very high standards for it. I was in town for the holidays and wanted to try the Bistro. Four of us walked in at opening on a Monday. We were a little confused upon entry– do we seat ourselves, wait for a hostess? Turns out you grab a menu from the bucket and order at the counter. I was super pumped when I saw all the Mediterranean items! We ordered falafel appetizer, a gyro, a firehouse gyro, a reuben and a corn beef sandwich on pita. The falafel was the worst I’ve ever had and the sauce tasted like plain Greek yogurt with hint of tahini. The gyros were also a huge let down– bland taziki, okay meat. The real stars were the Ruben and cornbeef– THEYWEREDELICIOUS! Overall, it was a nice experience. We will probably stop in next time we are in town, but we will stick to non Greek food.

Delicious food! I had a turkey on white– fresh bread and veggies, with a heap of flavorful turkey. I tried the potato salad w/my meal, which was yummy. My daughter had a grilled cheese and gave two thumbs up. The service was fast and friendly. This restaurant had warmth and charm. I will definitely go back!

Oh my gosh! Big city deliciousness with a small town friendliness. Walk up to the counter, order, pay and sit. They bring it to you! The sampler platter was big enough for 5, with the best falafel I have EVER tasted. We all really liked what we ordered and barely saved room for baklava. They had small batch cinnamon whiskey for sale by the cutest little mason jar mug shot glass. Wonderful. Overall, a unique and special experience in the heart of Franklin County. I’m going back soon.

This Bistro just opened on June 19th in the old Gerald Roller Mill. It is an interest blend of American and Middle Eastern Cuisine. We had the Sampler platter, which is hummus, baba ganoush, grape leaves, falafel, tahini, tzaziki, feta cheeses, olives and tomatoes with toasted pita. For sandwiches, we had the Firehouse Gyros and a Italian Muffaletta. All good sandwiches. They also had a children’s menu.
