Well Zio’s is gone. The bad management finally took its toll. The food was good but they were never organized.

Horrible Customer service, showed up at 2PM with 95% of the tables open and we were told to wait 5 – 10 minutes. After 10 minutes with no further acknowledgement decided to leave. Food in the past has been average, but won’t revisit until customer service has been addressed.

Had a new waiter and he was very good on his third day at work. I am really hard to please because I had home made Italian growing up. First the food was plentiful and the cheese stuffing in the manacotti was good. Sauce was bland, bread was good and my wife’s salad was good. She got the strawberry fields salad. Extra star for that. Only down side was that the ladies bathroom was not clean.

A COCKROACHCRAWLEDONTOMYHAIRWHILEEATINGHERE!!! Yes, you read that right. You know your dinner out with a friend just took a really bad turn when she looks at you with panic in her eyes and says«Don’t freak out, but…». We were sitting in a booth and at the end of our meal. Fortunately for us and Zio’s it was closing time and we were the last ones in the restaurant. I have long thick hair that was touching the back of the booth. A HUGE cockroach must have climbed up the booth and onto my hair when my friend spotted it. I don’t know what I would have done if we had been surrounded by other diners because in panic I shook my hair hard and out flung this nasty creature. I ran over and got our waiter and a waitress that was nearby. Our waiter(who was a super nice guy, but maybe this wasn’t the best judgement) grabbed a big broom and smashed the cockroach right in front of us. The waitress was acting horrified and saying that she was never stepping foot on that side of the restaurant again(also not helpful). They got the kitchen manager, who was pretty nice too and apologized that it happened. He said that he would«take care of our meal for us». In reality he just took a little off, leaving us paying for 2⁄3 of our meal still. We were so horrified that we just paid and got out of there as fast as we could. I was too freaked out to even bring my purse(which had been sitting on the booth) into my car. I threw it in the trunk and wouldn’t bring it into my home until my husband dumped all my contents out and carefully went through every nook and cranny of that thing with a flashlight. I was worried that one might have crawled into it and I did not want to bring it with me. The next morning I called the restaurant to speak with the GM and was told it was their day off and given the number to the corporate office. I spoke with someone that was very understanding, appropriately horrified, and asked for my number and said someone would call me back right away. A little while later someone else from corporate called. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing when he just kept wanting to convince me that the restaurant was clean and this wasn’t normally an issue. The phone call seemed much more geared towards defending themselves than caring about what an awful experience my friend and I had. To his credit, he did make it clear they were going to call pest control. He just kept telling me all the ways the cockroach might have got into the restaurant and even used the words«I mean, I’m not trying to blame anyone else.» As if maybe, just maybe… I brought the cockroach with me!!! I think overall he meant well, just maybe not the right way to go about the conversation. The end result was that my friend and I are offered to come back for a free meal any time. Obviously, we wouldn’t do that. Would you? It doesn’t sit well with us at all that we had to pay for this experience to begin with. Though everyone we spoke to was pretty friendly, it really wasn’t handled well. Worst dining experience ever!

It’s sucks. I’ve tried this place 3times on different occasions and each time it was horrible. The service was ok, but the food sucks… You almost want to get a burger somewhere just to redeem yourself from the plate and appetizer you ordered. The chicken piccata has too many flavors going on. They would’ve been fine with just the chicken, capers, and wine sauce.(how it’s supposed to be). The calamari was horrible. And my husband’s seafood plate he got he barely ate(this is how I know it was really bad my husband can eat like there’s no tomorrow). We are never trying it again no matter how many people say they are great. Then they don’t know great cooking! Don’t go unless you want to be disappointed.

Run down décor outside– it really needs painted! Seems like they always forget to turn on the exterior lighting. The interior is super dated, and could use some refreshing. I ordered the Shrimp Limone, and it was fine, but had a lot of oil/butter in it. I enjoyed my salad with house dressing. Overall, prices could be a little lower, given that they serve so much pasta. Service was okay, the place was empty– had one large party and the staff stayed off the floor. Probably wouldn’t go back. Better service at any Olive Garden.

Meh, waitstaff was nice and that is the reason that they get 2 stars… but the food took an hour to come… and yes we had a big party(of 9) but really… an hour… and when it came, I got the manicotti, and it tasted like they melted a block of velveeta on the top of my pasta… eww. Very plastic tasting and not the quality I was expecting.

My husband and I love the quinoa salad! He ordered something else that he didn’t enjoy, he pushed his aside and help himself to my salad. Highly recommended the quinoa salad!

Went back to Zio’s today and enjoyed another fantastic meal. I started with the tomato florintine soup and the fresh loaf of bread… super tasty again! Then for my entre’ the Chicken Alfredo… super tender, moist chicken and the sauce was thick and creamy. For dessert my waiter recommended the bread pudding topped with ice cream and Jack Daniel’s sauce… totally warm and yummy… enough for two, I took half home! Another great meal!

Another great meal and service at Zio’s…got an email celebrating the new year… buy one entrée of $ 12.99 value or less and get a second entrée in the same price range for free… that means my wife’s baked ziti was free… does that make it taste even better? Yup. It came with a Caesar salad that was very good too, we had enough of those two to have another complete meal this evening. I had the 12 ounce ribeye grilled medium, it was cooked to perfection and consumed with great gusto… sadly, there were no survivors, I had a regular salad which consisted of mainly iceberg lettuce, not as good as the Caesar. While we were enjoying the meal, we had plenty of service and fresh hot bread and olive oil and herbs… zzzzzzzz…snort…may need a nap now… zzzz

Service was not the greatest. Ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, which was plain tasting… meatballs reminded me of what dog food tasted like(yes, who’s never tried dog food as a child?). The wife had asparagus with spinach dip, mixed with noodles and chicken. Wife asked for her meal to be customized a bit(no tomatoes and swap the chicken for shrimp) which the waitress forgot to relay to the cook. Plus drink orders took awhile. Bread tasted good

Service is always iffy here. One server seems to hate his job, but the others are friendly. It’s never busy, but the food is still wonderful.

I’ve had many great meals here, good wine and awesome alfredo sauce, which I rarely like. Strawberry chicken salad is wonderful.

Service was very poor and the food tasted like it was frozen and out of a can. The best thing from our meal was the sweet tea. Will not be returning.

I know they have some wine, we ordered 4 different types of wine, all out of stock that day… hmmm, fail… The server Amanda was awesome with her service until she disappeared after the meal was served. so close, but fail again. The drawings if flowers on the wall was not even acceptable in my opinion. Overall food quality. Filling, tasty, came out in a timely manner, but not good enough to come back.

First off our waiter was awesome, now for the food… awful I found what looked like baby food in my salad and the spaghetti I make way better at home. When the manger came to ask how it was we told him it just wasn’t very good he then told us if we come back to wait a few months. We found this very offensive and will not be returning!

I tried Zio’s again after my last poor experience well over a year ago. Not much has changed. My server was very good and that was the highlight. The food was like it was made by first week trainees for the Olive Garden. There was nothing in the different dishes, including soup & salad, we ordered that I would say was good. We had from OK to blah. In particular the marinara sauce was bad, none like I had tasted at other restaurants or out of a jar. If you want similar food take the drive down to Carino’s or a little further to the Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill.

The year is 2001. The place is Houston. I met this guy who gave me his number, and we talked about going out on a date. He selected some Italian restaurant called Zio’s and I agreed to meet him there. We enjoyed our time together, and one date led to another… Fast forward 11 years, and I’m now married to that guy. Yet Zio’s has vacated the Houston and Austin area. So I thought! I was driving south on I-35 from DFW last week and looked over at just the right time to see a Zio’s in Georgetown. Whaaaat?! As a surprise, I took my husband out for ‘date night’ last night. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I ordered the Shrimp Limone(shrimp, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, tossed with lemon sauce and piled on angel hair pasta), and he ordered the chicken parm. I ate so much of the bread with olive oil and spices that I didn’t eat but a few bites of my pasta, but what I had of it was delicious. My husband’s chicken was also very good with lots of flavor. I had a glass of the house red wine, and it was just ok, but at $ 4.95 it’s hard to beat. We weren’t all that hungry after our meals, but wanted to split the $ 4.99 Oreo mountain dessert. We didn’t think it could be very big because of the price, but we were wrong. It’s a mountain of layers of oreo and vanilla ice cream. SO good! Our waiter was Keith and he was very attentive and helpful when we were asking questions about the entrees. Our total bill for two entrees, one glass of wine, and the dessert was about $ 37 before tip, and I had tons of food leftover for today. It’s a bit of a drive so it won’t be a place we go to often, but it will be our special place.
