The Ground Up

While looking for a contractor, we called this company and left a message. We got the rudest text (not even a phone call) back from them to not call them again because they claimed we hung up on them.

Gregg and his crew are top-​notch. With attention to detail and a professionalism that puts you at ease, I highly recommend you call him for any home construction/​remodeling needs. Gregg removed a downstairs load-​bearing wall in our 2-​story residential home, in addition to adding canned lighting. We were very pleased with his organization and on-​going communication throughout the process. The end result was better than we imagined. A big thanks to Gregg and his crew! We will definitely be calling on his expertise again.

honest and does a good job

Gregg and his team are professional, courteous, honest and thorough. We wanted our combination formal living/​dining room divided so that we could have a home office. The Ground Up provided a fair and accurate price estimate and incorporated custom touches such as windows in the dividing wall and a tall french door with transom. It looks like the house was designed this way, and we are very happy with the final product!

Gregg Martin was recommended to us by our realtor. We have used him for multiple jobs at our house and he helped us do some repairs when we were selling our house.

I needed a handyman for odds and ends around the house before I moved in. (I consider myself handy, but know the extent of my abilities) Gregg is great! He’s efficient and does excellent work that needn’t be done over. He’s professional and shows with a uniform shirt even. I’ve entrusted him on a few occasions with a house key to get something done while I was out. He’s managed EVERYTHING I’ve thrown at him — and done so well above my expectations (which are high).
To name a few items I’ve asked him to do:
–Hang pictures on a masonry interior wall
–Change locks — and add deadbolts. (Locks were ordered pre-​keyed from
— saved a bunch this way!)
–Add a door to a closet
–Patch and paint dings and dents
–Cabinetry and countertop fixes and additions
–Remove nesting birds from my kitchen range vent — and replace the vent cover with a better system for keeping critters out. (I took the nest and birds to the wildlife refuge center).
Gregg can do it all — I give him my strongest endorsement!
