CLOSEDDOWN. Went to take my son here only to find out they are closed down permanently.

Looks Like there no longer and headed back to Montana. Maybe would have done better calling them selves Texas Mikes.

Chris the manager is the only reason I will give this place a second shot. Customer satisfaction is held highly and appreciated! I had been looking forward to eating here since we left Dallas that morning, I could taste the steak and taters. I am never a picky person when it comes to steak, I will eat them in most ranges, but I couldn’t do so here. I order medium, they bring out the cow mooing, I mean BLOODY as can be. Looked like they charded the outsides and took the meat off. I hate sending anything back, I really do, but I just couldn’t handle a raw steak. The family gets there food, wait, wait, and finally my steak comes back out. This time they made sure it wasn’t bloody, so much that they brought out a hockey puck. I mean way over cooked. Finally frustrated I asked for the manager, Chris, he came out I told him problem, and that I didn’t want another steak, please just take it off my bill. In the end, he ended up comping the wifes and youngins meal as well. This is the reason I will perhaps go back, I didn’t expect that, but it was a nice surprise after my horrible meal lol.

Tried Mike’s on a BOGO coupon and we came to mostly the same conclusions of the other reviewers. The food is a notch below Texas Roadhouse and if given the choice we’d rather go to the Roadhouse. The steaks were cooked just right but lacked seasoning. The service was great, sides were satisfactory, prices right on par with the Roadhouse. But it’s otherwise unremarkable. Perfectly suitable for an inexpensive steak if you don’t want to drive someplace further. It is what it is!

First time and last time to this poorly run place. We each ordered the Choice Steak, USDA graded and the best item on the menu. I got the 6 oz at Medium Well and it was shoe leather. I sent it back. The second one they brought out was the same. Shoe leather. My husband got the 8 ounce done Medium and it was like a filet. Soft, melted in your mouth, wonderful cut. So basically, I didn’t get dinner and he did. The peanuts were soggy tasting and the popcorn was the bottom of the bin. Oh and my favorite part, we were the ONLY customers in the bar and they changed the channel off football six times. The staff didn’t know how to work the tv or if someone came in and requested something, they messed up all the TV’s. We kept asking to get it changed back. Finally we just left. I handed our coupon for a BOGO to another family and wished them luck.

The food is so so(being generous). Wait staff seemed clueless and my order did not arrive complete. I had the teriyaki chicken and it was bland, dry, and the rice was over cooked. I will not be going back.

Georgetown is definitely losing its luster isn’t it… thank goodness for restaurants like Wildfire and Dos Salsas, but then again I was not expecting much from a chain restaurant like Montana Mikes. First off, the building itself off the interstate is boring and dull, you wouldn’t know it was there just driving I-35. They have a generic plastic plaza sign, the front façade is not memorable. Once you enter though, OMG, the ambience is pretty cheesy and is comparable to the cheap restaurant you go to at the Frontierland section of Disneyland. We got the fried mushrooms as an appetizer(they were ok, mushrooms tasted good), I got the steak and shrimp combo with a side of vegetables and sweet potato, my partner got the chicken fried steak. My food was decent and steak prepared medium rare, shrimp tasted fresh and sweet potato with some brown sugar in there made for an ok meal. My partner’s chicken fried steak though was not cooked thoroughly and you could still smell and see the batter was not cooked all the way… I didn’t even want to test taste it to see if it was cooked or not. Luckily, our waiter was super nice and responded appropriately when he wanted to take it back to get it cooked all the way. Unfortunately, our waiter seemed overwhelmed once several more customers came in and was seated in our area although it was only like two other tables full. It got a bit uncomfortable when we saw the manager blurt out the words I apologize or I’m sorry for this and that to our table or the table next to us several times… not a good sign of quality service. Relative to all other chain steakhouses ie Longhorn, Outback, Ruth’s Chris… Montana Mike’s was pretty bland in comparison. It’s an alright place possibly for road trippers just needing a bite to eat but locals in Gtowns and Austinites I’m sure can find better places for dinner.

I have read lots of negative reviews and we were really leary about going to eat here, however, several people that I know, have eaten here and really liked it. So, we gave it a try. My husband and I truly enjoyed the meal. We both had ribeyes… they were cooked perfectly. The service was great and will be be sure to eat here again.

If I could give this place a «negative star» rather than a one, I would. The management team, Mike and Jeff are absolutely clueless to the lack of services this restaurant provides. Any complaints to the managers seems go on deaf ears. They just don’t care… I have made my last visit to this restaurant.

Went here in January for their Tuesday Night Steak Special. Everything about the place was awful! It was our first time there and for sure our last. We were hardly acknowledged by the young girls at the front, our waitress was nice but clearly overwhelmed. Someone other than the waitress brought out our food(the manager maybe, he was wearing a button up shirt & tie) literally threw our plates down on the table with enough force that the plates bounced on the table. The food was mediocre at best, very bland, and my husband’s baked potato was cold. The waitress did go get him a new one, but at that point our impression of the place was already set in our minds. All I can say is at least the waitress tried, but still fell short. We’re going to stick with The Outback, Texas Roadhouse and our new love, Longhorn Steakhouse. Don’t bother with Montana Mike’s.

Service was good. Steak was low quality, no better than Denny’s. No flavor. Baked potato overcooked.

First off, our server John was phenomenal and so friendly! Servings were more than enough. I personally had a buffalo burger but my brother had a porter house steak and could only describe it as mediocre. Will be visiting again!

Food was OK, but service was not good at all. We were seated quickly and got our drinks quickly but waited over 30 min. for our appetizer and then our food came about a minute later and had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for quite a while, as the plates were HOTHOTHOT! I ordered a steak with a sweet potato and salad. My salad came AFTER my meal and only after I asked for it. Our server didn’t come by very often, so it took a while for me to remind her I was supposed to have had the salad BEFORE my meal. I guess since our appetizer and meal came almost together there was no time for the salad. The steak was a bit tough. We probably won’t go back. I only gave it 2 stars because the onion rings and potato were so good and our drinks were brought right to us after we ordered them.

The first time I ate here I was not very impressed, but hungry for a steak, and still reeling from my Chili’s /Applebee’s confusion fiasco(I am still not sure which one I had been to in California) I decided to try Montana Mike’s again. It was great! It was a Sunday afternoon, and not very crowded. I liked the country music and enjoyed the sort of eclectic decoration. I got a great steak — the 12 oz sirloin, just the way I like it cooked, as well as a salad and a baked sweet potato which seemed very fresh and was not overcooked or mushy. When my server explained they had run out of sliced tomatoes for my salad, I remembered something similar happening the last time(now over a year ago) happening last time. So I guess it’s not perfect. But it’s close by and not very expensive. When the on duty manager came by and asked me if everything was to my liking I had to say yes. While I a not a big steak eating, gotta have meat kinda guy, when I am in the mood for the traditional steak dinner, I will likely come back here.

My foolish friends and I heard that a new chain steakhouse had opened in Georgetown called Montana Mike’s. So one night we slithered up there to give it a try. Easily found on the west side of IH-35 south of the Andice exit it you are driving north. There website describes them as follows: «The atmosphere is reminiscent of a mountain lodge and our service is first class. All Montana Mike’s offer beer and wine with most locations having a full bar.» They were correct as we entered it looked like a log cabin lodge you would be staying at or eating at in the mountains of Montana. Not Texas cowboy but Montana cowboy. We were seated quickly and our waitress was great no problem at all with service. We all ordered steaks of various types and size mine was the 24oz Porterhouse cooked medium rare. We all ordered different sides included baked potatoes, fries, sweet potatoes, green beans, steamed veggies, salad. We shared the 5 berry cobbler with ice cream and that is what we all liked best. Their menu had other items as well which we could not try on one visit. What did we think? We all felt it was fine, food fine, place fine, service fine, parking fine, price fine. That’s it just fine not great. That means we will continue to go to Texas Roadhouse or Outback especially since they are in Round Rock. As for Logan’s I am not a fan they use too much garlic in their food and smother the steaks with garlic salt and I am not a garlic person. I think many of you will like Montana Mike’s and some will not so you need to make up your own mind, so go and give them a change to earn your business. Will I go back? I cannot say never but not in the near future.

Montana Mike’s offers up a familiar formula but does nothing to distinguish itself. The concept is virtually identical to Logans and Texas Roadhouse, but the menu is smaller, and the food is just not that great. This is not a terribly bad restaurant, it’s just not remarkable in any way. On my first visit, I ordered the teryaki grilled chicken. The chicken was cooked well with nice grill marks and a juicy interior, but it was floating in a cloyingly sweet teryaki sauce. There is a massive stuffed and fried mushroom appetizer that was unique and reasonably tasty. The complimentary yeast rolls are decent, especially with the provided whipped cinnamon butter. Steaks are just ok. It doesn’t take a gourmet chef to season and throw a piece of meat on the fire. The steaks are a bit underseasoned, and the cuts were your typical cheap roadhouse quality(thin choice). The service is typical for this type of place; reasonably friendly and accomodating. I have no complaints. In summary, the service is ok, the concept is a cliché, and the food is unremarkable. I would pass on Montana Mikes. If I need a cheap steak from a kitschy roadhouse, I’ll head over to Logan’s or Texas Roadhouse. For good fresh food in Georgetown, Monument Café is a much better choice.

Meh. I’ve experienced better. Service was lacking, from the hostess to the waitress. It was a quiet Sunday evening and there were not many other diners so I see no reason for not-so-great service. The food was mediocre, only slightly better than a cafeteria. Baked potatoes tasted alright and weren’t bigger than my face. The roll on the other hand was the same size as the potato if not bigger. This is great if you love rolls or if you’re entrée is a good as mine wasn’t. Our 5-year-old wouldn’t even eat her burger and fries. How’s that for a review?

Quick Review: If you want a cheap steak, and mediocre service, Montana Mike is for you. Service: The waitress took our order, brought our food, brought our check, and not much else. When she brought our salads and entrees she«plopped» the plate down in front of each of us. Food: The baked potato was good — well cooked and good toppings. The yeast roll was good, but frankly, too large. When did rolls become the size of hamburger buns? The steak was very tender, and cooked correctly, but it was very bland. There was a little salt, but no seasoning other than that. Between the bland meat and inattentive waitress I won’t go back. I’d rather pay a little more and go to Texas Road House.
