We decided to go tree hunting here based on previous reviews, and I don’t know that we will be going back. The trees were all $ 60(smart money says they will be $ 65 next year since they seem to be climbing pretty consistently), and the pickings were already pretty slim by 12⁄04 — we found a nice looking tree, but the vast majority looked a little bit eaten. On the way out, I overheard one of the employees cautioning a customer that they were starting to run out of nice trees, so maybe I would have felt differently had I gone a week earlier. My main objection was the noise level. The roving army of tractors that bring the trees to the area where they are bundled and loaded up onto your car kind of give the place a distracting, dystopian/militaristic tree compound feel that just didn’t lead to that happy seasonal feel that the Mr and I left with when we went to a smaller farm in Connecticut last year. I personally would chose the inconvenience of having to carry a tree to my car over that unsettling racket any day. Still, the people were very nice and the area is beautiful… so it’s not all bad.

A few years ago my kids and I started the tradition of going to a real farm to choose and cut our own tree, instead of going to the parking lot type places. We love it — it’s a great way to usher in the Christmas season every year. The trees at Ingraham are all $ 55 regardless of size and they have a great selection.(There are some other farms around that charge more and have much less to choose from.) The farm is family owned and the staff is super helpful. It’s really fun to walk around and look at all the trees, then choose the perfect one and cut it down.

I agree with everything in the other review(including the scraggly trees down the road). It’s a beautiful spot with a great selection of trees and lots of help if you aren’t a woodsman(or woodswoman). Also, you can bring your dog along — makes for a great outing.

This was our first year cutting down our Christmas Tree and Ingraham’s was the third stop on our hunt for the perfect tree. Ingraham’s is a family run business. Everyone was very helpful. The price was $ 50 for any size tree(which is reasonable, consider the farm down the street was $ 65 for a dilapidated tree), They have four different types our trees. We found our within minutes of being there. They provide you with a saw and a tag. After you cut down your tree, drag it to the edge of the trail and the tractor picks it up. They bundle it up, while you pull around in your car and off you go. Please note: They close at 3:30 on the weekends and close for the season in the December 14th.
