State Street Jewelers

I’m so happy with the service and craftsmanship at State Street Jewelers. We’re so lucky to have such a quality Jeweler near us in the St. Charles and Geneva area.
This was a custom ring done well over six years ago in Hong Kong that had lost a stone and in sad shape. They reset all three rings in all new mounts based on a pic and conversation. I went in a couple of times to review a CAD image and a wax mock up and small adjustments were made. I have a detailed eye, a curse sometimes, and John and Jeff were so patient and understanding with me.

Have been a customer since I purchased my wife’s engagement ring more than 5 years ago and have not shopped anywhere else for jeweler. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable especially Heather and they have a fantastic selection. Recently welcomed our first child into the world and ordered a necklace charm with engraving and a birth stone and it turned out amazing. Would highly recommend State Street for every occasion.

I know this is a Geneva staple, but I was not impressed and actually put off a bit. My daughter and I were shopping for an engagement ring so she could share her favorite with her fiancé (at his request). I guess it was obvious that the sale wasn’t happening the day we visited (or perhaps at all), because the salesperson spent a few minutes with us, then turned to another customer in mid-​sentence to talk to that person as well. After receiving an encouraging word from that new customer, off she went. We stayed for a few more minutes to see if she would return. She glanced our way, but couldn’t be bothered from there, so the one ring my daughter wanted to try on stayed in the case; we moved on, and found a similar ring elsewhere. It was actually very embarrassing. And rather short-​sighted on her part, based on the ring that was purchased.
As a Geneva resident, it is always important that I support our local businesses and shop in town whenever possible. This store will unfortunately not be on the list. Further, I used to be in the jewelry business, and found that the minute I made judgments about a customer’s ability to buy, I lost business.

I’ve gone elsewhere, and often wonder why. I always return to State Street Jewelers. Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and their jewelry is lovely. You don’t have to buy anything to have your rings cleaned while you browse.
They are by far the best jewelers around.

We used to live in Batavia nearly 15 years ago and when we did live out there we always went to State Jewelers, (for watch repair and jewelry cleaning).
Why?
Surely, not because we’re secretly wealthy… And not because I like bling, bling, (I usually wear one piece of jewelry — my wedding band — lapel pins don’t count)…
But after of nearly 30 years, I return to State Street Jewelers because they have always treated me with respect and desire my satisfaction. Dare I say, they do business the old fashioned way — with honesty, and a care for detail that is so seldom seen today.
When I was there with my son, who has plugs in his ears, (he is Filipino and I am Black, although I don’t think I stand out so much — I don’t have plugs; but together we are an odd pair, especially when he calls me mom in public — we turn heads). The sales personnel saw us as «people» needing a service and/​or looking for a product. They recognized us and took us in turn as the store oddly began to fill with other customers, (we must have blessed the place and people started to flock there to experience the moment:-).
But in all seriousness, there were all types of people in the store, (a mechanic, he had on his uniform, a senior citizen who was a little loud, a young couple and others), still we all received the same treatment. Respect, professionalism, care/​understanding. It didn’t matter how much we were spending, our purchase was of value — like each and every one of us.
Even though my jewelry needs are small, I am so grateful that the folks at State Street Jewelers are like «gold». :-) Thank you

Very personable and knowledgeable people here, so ask lots of questions. We also bring our jewelry here for repair, as they do a fantastic job.
