Payless Shoe Source

I have not been to a Payless and years and I decided to go tonight because the traffic in Rockwall was horrible! No one even offered to assist us when we walked in. We found what we wanted and stood at the counter for a few minutes until I finally went and told someone that we were ready to check out. The lady said oh I heard you guys at the counter. I was like wow, if you heard us, why did you make is wait like that??? Needless to say, I won’t be back. That was enough for me.

This place only gets two stars because it does have plenty of perfectly adequate footwear for reasonable prices. If you know exactly what you need and are there well before closing it is probably an OK place.
I went in about 25 minutes before closing to get my grandson a pair of sandals. He has only recently started living with me so I really wasn’t sure what size to get for him. When I asked for help I was told that they were closing in 5 minutes and to please make my selection (keep in mind that this was 20 minutes before closing) and offered no assistance. They also then made an announcement that they were closing in 5 minutes and everyone needed to get to the registers. I was not the only one caught by surprise as several people looked at there watches and did the whole «shake my arm because the batteries must be low» move.
There were several people who just decided to leave at this point. No salutations by the employees-​just an ongoing discussion about where they would be going after closing.
The cashier stopped talking to his friend only long enough to give me my total (yes-​I still bought a pair of shoes here-​I couldn’t bear the thought of dealing with the Walmart scene across the street at this point in the day). No thank yous or come agains. This was some of the worst customer service I have experienced in a long while. I will probably shop Payless again– but not this location.
