This was a nice dining experience with great ambiance and delicious food. Service was prompt and friendly and prices pretty reasonable as well. I enjoyed the samples of appetizers as much an the main entrée and so did my fiancé and friends.

I had the vitello cabrese. It was good. I had a side of penne with vodka sauce. I’ve had better tasting vodka sauce. But other than that, the food was pretty good.

Best Italian food, hands down. I go there religiously and I’ve never had a bad dining experience. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, the owners are wonderful and the food is spot on. The homemade pasta is simply scrumptious. Their daily specials are always exciting and delicious. So if you haven’t gone there yet, not sure what you’re waiting for? Another fake Italian meal with overcooked pasta somewhere else? Bad case of overly salted straciatelli soup? You won’t find any of that at La Cambusa for sure. Only the best food that Italy cuisine has to offer.

This place is where it’s at! And it’s right here, right under our noses in Garfield! The service was great, the bar looks pretty large, and there is outdoor seating for those nice clear nights! I had the seafood risotto and that was tasty. My lady had something along the lines of pasta with half a lobster. That lobster was huge and I thought the price was fair for such a large helping of food. My lady’s best friend had an Australian white fish — she loved it, but the serving was pretty large. I am definitely going back, as my lady and her friend tried the specials and there is more to try here.

The Burrata appetizer($ 9) with grilled zucchini and roasted peppers on mixed greens was delicious. Can you really go wrong with the natural creaminess of burrata? It’s about the presentation. The homemade pasta was the proper texture: a chewy al dente. Other places struggle with homemade pasta and can overcook it. The Fieno — straw & hay —($ 17) with crabmeat, shrimp and peas in a pink cream sauce was actually not heavy and was dispersed with fresh seafood(yes, real lumps of crabmeat). It was one of the waiter’s recommended dishes after I asked for suggestions, along with an imported pasta dish of Pennoni with shrimp, clams and monkfish in a marechiaro sauce. Maybe I’ll dive into that next time. The specials were introduced to me, and while they were tempting, I really wanted to get to know the core of La Cambusa first. It’s a classy looking place; the server was friendly and you don’t have to dig deep into your pocket. La Cambusa really deserves a chance.

This place has a great atmosphere and the service is great. The food is amazing, it’s so fresh and delicious same goes for the drinks. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants real great Italian food or even for fresh sweet drinks.

We stopped here for the first time and settled on just a couple of appetizers since none of the entrées grabbed my attention. The mussels and the garlic shrimp were both underwhelming. The drinks were fair but seemed pricey.

it really deserves a 2.5 stars. My fiancé ordered the lobster ravioli which was pretty good. I had a steak which was tough and stringy and some potatoes which were underdone. The desert was meh… had better tiramisu from shoprite. What really bumps the rating down is the service. The waiter was friendly enough but he was super inattentive we were seated outside on the balcony and I had to waddle my(at the time) pregnant self into the restaurant proper about 3 times to ask for various things.

Somehow we missed dining at this great Italian restaurant when it was located in Fair Lawn. We got our chance last night in Garfield with another couple. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere was lively; all at a very reasonable price. We were very comfortable in the inside dining room but also look forward to visiting again and dining al fresco on their beautiful patio on a night less warm and less humid. I enjoyed the branzino expertly filleted table-side. The other dishes in our party were the ravioli Cambusa, black linguini, and a chicken dish with pasta and marinara sauce. We will recommend this restaurant and come back in the future.

Great place. Not your typical American Italian Very fresh and new. They always have an interesting fish special. We had monkfish with lemon and oil, amazing. I love their food just wish they had more of a social vibe. They empty out early so usually we end up the last table there well before closing.

This place was so bad! I mean how can you mess up a simple meal like that. The owner seems like he’s to good to be there and the vibe was just not there. Avoid this spot.

This restaurant is my go-to whenever my mother and I want to catch up over lunch. The food is outstanding. In addition to the lunch/dinner menu, the restaurant provides guests with daily specials, all of which have been creative, unique dishes yet superb in taste. The service is impeccable. There’s nothing like having a great meal accompanied by a wonderful, attentive staff. La Cambusa will always be one of my favorite Italian restaurants to dine in NJ!

Ordered lunch for our office from La Cambusa today and we are all currently stuffed and happy. It was delicious! Tilapia Livornese: Tilapia, light tomato sauce, olives, capers, onions(comes with pasta but I asked for veggies). Great tasting and you can tell it’s fresh fish and not frozen. Some places I have ordered this dish and the fish was clearly frozen. The veggies were steamed to perfection! My only comment is I wish there would have been more sauce. Next time we will ask for extra sauce. We ordered over the phone, it was ready exactly when they said it would be ready. There were not many people dining in for lunch so it was quiet. Very clean and nice restaurant. Will definitely go back!

This place was suprisingly pleasant for food. Food: 5 Stars, top notch quality and taste. My family hails from the motherland(Italy) and usually we dont go to Italian restaurants. but this place was good. Atmosphere: 5 Stars. Nice and clean. Also they double their seating with outdoor seating which is great for the spring summer and fall. Service: 4 Stars: Food took a bit long to come out but thats okay. What wasnt okay was our waiter was extremely off putting and came off as pompous and rude, but the owner came out and spoke with us a few times throughout the night which made it better. Would absolutely go back

After my recent string of mediocre-to-terrible experiences in restaurants, this place gave me hope that there are people in the industry who truly love and appreciate food. Everything about the restaurant(the food, ambiance, staff) was so well done that I could help but think that everyone associated with the place had a true love and appreciation for food. Eating here brought me comfort and happiness that I haven’t had in a long time when eating in a restaurant. All the dishes I ate were made and seasoned perfectly. Each bite made me wish I could never get full and my plate would never be empty. I loved it. I came here for lunch and the first dish I had was the calamari. It was seasoned beautifully with just the perfect amount of crunch. Usually, I don’t like marinara sauce. I don’t like to eat it because, it usually doesn’t agree with my palate. I’ll often find it sour, bland, bitter or all three. This sauce, however, was amazing. It had the right balance of salty and sweet, while carrying a great spicy kick that wasn’t overpowering. It complemented the squid perfectly. I wanted to eat the whole order. Next, I had the Penne del Golfo(Penne with shrimp and vodka sauce). It was outstanding. Probably, the best penne with vodka sauce I’ve ever had. The sauce was so creamy, silky smooth and bursting with flavor that with each bite I kept thinking, «How do they do this?!» and«I wonder if they’d give me the recipe…» I wanted to bottle it up and take it home to share with everyone.(Instead, I’ll probably just tell everyone to eat there.) The pasta was delicious as well and perfectly al dente. The shrimp was also cooked to perfection. I love and appreciate perfectly cooked shrimp, because often, restaurants(and people) overcook shrimp and make it rubbery and unappetizing. Lastly, I ate the tiramisu with a cup of coffee. The tiramisu was great. It’s housemade and not too sweet. They top it off with a coffee liqueur and everything marries together to create one of the best pieces of tiramisu you will ever taste. The coffee was perfect too! All-in-all, this place was amazing(and perfect, I said«perfect» a lot). The ambiance is clean, trendy and tastefully done. The prices are excellent for the food and portions you get. The service is great, quick and friendly. I haven’t stopped talking about this place since I left and hopefully I can eat there soon. Definitely try it!
