Westminster Good Samaritan Seventh Day Adventist

Good Samaritan SDA’s slogan «where diversity matters» when reality is where diversity does NOT matter. People of all walks of life are welcome. They’re really friendly and pastor Alex is a powerful preacher.

The Pastor here is absolutely incredible. This is a church where everyone is welcome. Come as you are, but be prepared to leave a different person. Pastor Royes has such refreshing insight. Its an Adventist church, but I’m not Adventist or even Christian but I come to hear the word and feel the spirit. This church has incredible diversity. Many years ago an overcrowded black church in Santa Ana (I say black because I’m not sure if African American is still the right term) joined an undercrowded white (see, still using a color to describe people) church in Westminster. Additionally this white church is where a congregation of Japanese Adventists also attend. Told you it was diverse. I love it, you see so many churches that separate according to ethnicity and I fail to see the unifying power of God in this. The music is loud and fun, despite its chorus repeating chanting nature. Come for the Pastor and stay for the friendly atmosphere, you won’t be disappointed. And don’t forget its on Saturday. Show up on Sunday and the gates will be locked.

It seems kinda odd to review a place of worship, but I have to. I finally got baptized after a half-​decade search for God. I’ve been to plenty of churches, but I finally found a church family to call my own.
My first day here, I was welcomed with open arms. WIthin a week, I got to know a lot of the congregation… and every time I miss church, the 50 – 150 people that attend regularly always notice, and I always get a phone call making sure that I’m okay.
I love Westminster Good Samaritan because they offer Sabbath School, and you’re around good people who generally just want to rejoice in the Lord with you. No gimmicks, no pressure to be there… and for the first time, I’ve attended a church where everyone is genuinely caring.
Pastor Royes is a funny man, and his guest Pastors that come in are AMAZING. If you ever get the time, swing by, eat lunch with us, and hopefully you’ll find a new second home to call your own.
