I come here for seasonings and fresh vegetables. I would not recommend getting the packaged meats here unless you are planning to cook it immediately. They claim that they package it «fresh» but when you come home and open it, it smells overdue. P The store is well organized by aisles and I love their wide selection of spices and seasonings. You can purchase everything here for cheap! Also, it’s always a plus that it is located right next to restaurants, Target, and Lees sandwich.

Located next to a Target is Shun Fat Supermarket /Garden Grove Superstore. It’s a mall like Supermarket with various other different restaurants, stores, and other little shops. The Supermarket itself is alright, nothing special. Prices were somewhat reasonable, some items were cheaper to get here while others are cheaper to get elsewhere such as T S Emporium or 99 Ranch Market. Shopping Carts all over the parking lot, including even venturing into the Target side, and same with Target shopping carts, venturing onto on SF Supermarket side. Parking is a mad house here, sooo many customers coming to shop, shop, and shop for cheap Asian products!

Welcome to Saigon city. –Large/spacious Asian supermarket –OH Fish: Sea Food section is by far the largest and has huge collection of fresh water/sea fishes etc. Unbeatable price of the fish and the only place where I can find my Indian fish“Carp”. –Fresh vegetables & produce is usually cheap and good. –Meat section & sea food: They have a huge variety of all Asian fishes and they will also clean, cut and fry your fish as needed. –This store has a Bakery, fresh produce, meat, sea food, fish, food corner. –This store also has a Chinese/Vietnamese hot food corner at the entrance which seems crowded but i haven’t tried them yet And of-course you are in Saigon city so you can’t escape the taste and smell of Vietnam in the air(lol) Don’t be confused by it’s name as it has several. it’s called Shun Fat supermarket, Sieu Thi Thuan Phat, SF Supermarket. well well what’s in a name after all

This is one of the yuckiest Asian markets I have been in. We came in to look for some live crabs and lobsters. They had a variety of live seafood, but their seafood dept is so dirty. At first my attention went straight to the tank with Moray Eels. Who knew you could get those live? Then I saw the crawfish bin. Most were gone bc it was the Memorial Day holiday. There were a few that were pretty feisty still. This guy looked like he was protecting his dead friend.
Then it started to get worse as I looked closer. The tanks where the lobsters and crabs were had green algae on the grating on top. There was this lovely bin of freshly caught catfish. Yeah, eww, I know. A tub of dead oysters for 99 cents each. «Fresh» rock cod for $ 2.99/lb. These guys looked pretty fresh, but look closer at the case they are in. The back edge of the case is all covered in algae and rust. We ended up just buying some flour to make banh beo and some shrimp chips. But only after I checked the expiration date like three times. This place is just gross. It’s too big of a market with too much inventory and not enough customers. A lot of the produce didn’t look fresh either. On our way out, we were wondering what they did with all the food that was on the verge of spoiling. Then we walked by the Food To Go counter… Ohhh. Note to self, don’t ever get food to go from here.

WARNINGTOALLSHOPPERS! Before you leave the checkstand, make sure you double check that they put all the items you were charged for in your cart! I went here to shop for groceries last Saturday. I believe the cashier was named, Phung. I bought a whole cartfull of things. The shrimp, pork, and cherimoya were scanned in the middle of the transaction. When I got home, none of the bags contained these items. I was charged for them! When I was wasn’t watching, they must have moved the bag to the side or something. I’m never returning. Stealing scumbags!

+ Good Short grain and Long grain rice selection. + Fresh produce + Wide variety of Dry noodles +Great selection of teas, but needs some Japanese brands as well. +Deli/Dim sum selection is pretty good and at a reasonable price –Funky smells near rear of store. –They need to clean the fish area better at times –Meats are questionable

I really need to stop going to the damn markets around here and invest in more time to drive down to the Westminster Superstore on Beach and McFadden instead. Earlier today at the sf market: Me to the Cashier: I didn’t know who to tell, but there’s mold all over the habaneros and some of the other packaged stuff. Cashier: I don’t know. Me: You don’t KNOW? There’s MOLD on the FOOD! You need to tell management. Cashier: Uhhhh… can you talk to my manager? Manager shows up and just stared at me without a word. Me to manager: There’s mold all over the habaneros and some of the prepackaged stuff over there by the chilis. The idiot manager just stared at me like she didn’t know what to do, so I gave her the«well, DOSOMETHING! DUH!» look. Manager: I told the guy.(leaves without a word, then comes back) Manager: How about the bananas? Me: I don’t know, I don’t work here. My bananas are fine. There’s MOLD on the HABANEROS. They’re orange chilis over there(I point) and the other stuff in the packages around there have mold ALLOVERTHEPLACE. YOUSHOULDDOSOMETHINGABOUTIT.(at this point i am laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation. There is friggin MOLDONTHEFOODINYOURSTORE and you act like it’s no friggin biggy. That’s a damn problem.) Manager: Ok.(walks off, no apology, no nothing. Wow.) I am never shopping here again. The convenience in distance just isn’t worth the spoiled produce, bad customer service, and incompetent employees.

I went here today with a good friend of mine, who happens to be Chinese. Anyway, this place was interesting. The produce is really cheap(5 bunches of cilantro for $ 1 and 8 bundles of scallions for $ 1) and the place is bright and clean. I’ve been to other Asian markets and this is a step above. Some interesting things that you won’t find at your boring Ralph’s: frozen durian(a strange fruit which I’ve heard smells like vomit but tastes delicious), ox pizzle(penis), and pig uterus. I will probably never eat any of these things but I will go back for some of their fresh seafood or some Dim Sum at this neat café they have. Check it out… you can feel like Anthony Bourdain without leaving Orange County! –1 star because their shrimp wasn’t very good… but their produce is cheap and good.

They re-opened this recently as SF Supermarket. The store that was here before has moved to Beach Blvd. What has changed from the previous store is that they’ve put in a BBQ counter which also has dim sum and other cooked food. The inside is huge so aisles are not squished and tight. There is a lot of room to maneuver your carts around with no problems. The seafood section is pretty impressive with tanks of live tilapia and other tanks of various fresh/live seafood. Since it’s still new, it’s not as stinky as some of the older Asian grocery stores — still relatively clean. Plenty of parking!
