Food was great but more importantly, the service was surprisingly awesome. They are a friendly and a pleasant staff, they were attentive and aware of little details. Food came quickly and was delicious. I ordered Kalbi Tang. Mmmmmm.

Great food and great service. They do all the cooking. The quality of the meat is very good and the sets are a very good deal. I had chadol, samgyupsal, and the spicy cold noodle. More than enough food for 2 people

Definitely not the best place for yooksoo bulgogi(broth bulgogi) and overpriced — minimum order for dinner is 2 servings which is almost $ 50! Their dip was especially disappointing compared to some of the other places. For me, this dish must have a good dip! The meat was also too dry and honestly for what they charge should’ve been better quality. They also totally forgot about one of our other orders. Blah! Go elsewhere if you’re craving yooksoo bulgogi!

I have been meaning to leave a review for this place since I found it a year ago and became a regular. I love the country style furniture and the down to earth family style atmosphere. It’s relaxing and everyone is there to eat and not people watch. The ladies that serve are super nice and they remember what I like so I don’t even have to ask any more. the routine is down! their meat quality is consistently great. I love samgeopsal and rib eye steak BBQ. I love their steamed egg. Their cold buckwheat noodle is good also but usually I can only manage to finish my grilled meat order. I like that they are attentive here and they are also honest! Once, they apparently gave me the wrong tab but I paid the cash and then they actually brought back the eight tab and change back which I think is great! yep, I love this place!

Hands down the best king galbi I’ve ever tried. Everyone that works there very nice and they cut the meat up for you also. It is little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for in quality of the food

The place was good, but be careful, if you don’t give the store tip they’ll stop at the door until they get it from you.

Came upon this place by accident. It was very neat inside. I felt like I interrupted a meeting because there were older people in there 50s and 60s sitting as a large group. Besides that I really liked it. The food was delicious. My friend Ed and I finished everything. Our waitress was nice very helpful and was kind to teach me to say some Korean words.

It’s been years since I’ve been here but came here last week for a late lunch with a friend. The interior looked exactly the same. Now outdated and plain jane. We got their yooksu bulgogi combo that comes with 2 naeng myuns for $ 20. A great deal I must admit. There’s something magical of rich bulgogi broth mixed with white rice. It’s delicious. Unfortunately, the quality of the meat was subpar. It cooked up rubbery and dry. I like that they give you a lot of onions as it caramelizes and adds more sweetness and texture to the meal. The mul naeng myun was average. I’ve had better and worse. The side dishes were average as well. No issues with service. Overall = 3.5 stars!

This place used be packed, but it seems like Mo ran gak is stealing their customers. The most popular items on the menu here are Yuk soo bul go gi, and mool naeng myun, galbee combo. Lunch time deal is more reasonable, cost wise. All serving ladies are fairly attentive, friendly and nice. I have always ordered the same things when I visit, Mool naeng myun and galbee, and sometimes yuk soo bul go gi. I have never had any bugs in my food, or rotten flavor, or skimpy portion issues yet. Lately I tried Bibim naeng myun, the sauce was pretty good, not too sweet. But the noodles weren’t cooked well, so many burnt pieces stuck together, almost thought one of burnt black piece was a bug or something before I investigated it thoroughly. I normally order extra noodle, often I get the full complete naeng myun instead of only noodles. The ambiance is not so great, not the cleanest, always smells like bbq, the chairs are too hard and high, — or the tables were too low — but it is a good place to grab a quick bite especially if you want to avoid waiting in line at somewhere else.

I couldn’t understand anything on the menu, I could barely understand my waitress but AMAZINGLY our food came out DELICIOUS. From what I learned to be Bulgogi and la beef,(back I hawaii we call it kal bi) was mind blowingly tasty. If you ever find yourself confused as much as we were choose the Bulgogi and LA beef and your golden. The staff and our service is what caused the loss of 2 stars. The girl who set down our utensils was very rude and once our food was delivered no one came to check on us to see how we were doing. We saw this courtesy exercised to other patrons but not us. The man who seated us however,(I assumed was the owner due to lack of uniform) is the nicest person there… Okay scratch… *****I edited this post 10 minutes after my original post which reflected 3 stars I’ve recently changed it****** Very unprofessional staff

Came to California for a Disneyland Vacation, we were craving Korean food and de ided to give this place a try. The Cusu Bugolgi is amazing and the onions they use are delicious. I do not eat onions normally but this was great. The service I rate this place as moderate, because the person BRI going me our utensils took my chopsticks out of my hand and placed them on the mat. I had moved them because I was going to use them feel the vegetables. The person service g us was great at first… Then as we ate, she didn’t bring us any water for the remainder of our meal. We sat for 15 minutes waiting to be a knowledged so we could have refills. The food is great but the service could be better! Ample parking, located on Garden Grove.

To the Mrs one star: She wrote a bad review because they didn’t cook the food for her… Maybe she should have asked if they cooked the food for them… Or at least flipped the meat instead of watching it obviously overcook… =/ For what this place is… I rate 5 stars… But for the price of the same dish for a dinner… I knock off a star… Granted… You get a larger portion for dinner… This is a Korean restaurant for Korean food… They place the initial meat into the grill as a courtesy… It is YOUR responsibility to cook your own food here… Just to clarify to those that are used to quite a few Korean restaurants in SF… That are Americanized to cater to lazy, too good to cook my own food individuals… But what do I know…

The yuksu bulgogi here is on point. There are only two restaurants I know of in Garden Grove that serve bulgogi this way. Incheonwon House just down the street, and this place. I have now been to both and I can honestly say that, the yuksu bulgogi is… exactly the same. I am not really a fan of bulgogi in general, because it is pretty much a cheap cut of beef marinated in an overly sweet sauce. So I would almost never order it at a regular korean bbq restaurant. But when it’s cooked like this in the little moat of yuksu, the flavor is not as sweet as you would think, and it makes the beef more tender. So if I’m ever going to have bulgogi, this would be the way to go. I also like the fact that they give you a lot of lettuce to wrap your meat with. You don’t really see this very often in bbq restaurants these days, and it just reminds of good old-fashioned korean food. The servers here were all slightly older korean ladies, and they were warm, attentive and friendly. There was something almost motherly in the way they spoke and treated us, which was nice considering that my friend and I are getting pretty damn old. And the restaurant itself is pretty small, so I can’t see how the service would ever be an issue, even on a busy night. There are obviously better choices for regular kbbq in this area(just on this street alone), but this is a solid little korean restaurant if you feel like having some yuksu bulgogi. It is a little pricey at around $ 40 for 2 orders, but like I said, there aren’t too many places that serve this. It’s definitely worth a try.

Great place for lunch. We ordered the $ 18.99 combo deal that included Yuksu Bulgogi and the choice of two out of Mul Naengmyeon, Bibim Naengmyeon, and Milmyeon. Along with the banchan, it was just about right for two people. I guess I just crawled out from under a rock. I love the idea of Yuksu Bulgogi. The center surface allows the beef, onions, and mushrooms to sauté while a trough around it contains the simmering broth. Once the middle stuff is cooked, you can mix it into the liquid for an oh-so-delicious sukiyaki-like experience. The broth is so good, I’d be happy with just having it poured over rice. My Mul Naengmyeon was a nice cold complement to the very hot Bulgogi. I tried some of the girlfriend’s Milmyeon and it was equally delicious. Both are ice cold noodle soups with the Milmyeon having spicier seasoning.

Made the 30 minute drive from Irvine to try this place for lunch today. My dad wanted to take the family here after trying it himself and really enjoying the food. We ordered the yooksoo bulgogi. Now I’m Korean, but I’ve never officially tried this form of bulgogi in restaurants(although my mom said she’s made it for me at home). Basically, the grill has an elevated center, so when they pour the broth, it gathers on the outside, and the raw meat is then placed onto the center. When you’re ready to eat, you can place the raw meat into the broth and let it cook. Over time, the broth become infused with the flavors of the bulgogi. The flavors of the broth almost reminded me of Japanese sukiyaki — slightly sweet. The bulgogi was good and fun to eat. They give you a dipping sauce as well as a good variety of side dishes to keep your palate entertained. Since we came for lunch, we also each got a complimentary bowl of cold noodle(I got the mul nengmyun), and this was good as well. Basically, for $ 19 per person, we all left stuffed. Service was great. The owner constantly came to check on us and even offered herself to refill side dishes. Waitresses also came by to place more meat on the grill when we were running low. Glad I made the visit.

I initially had very mixed opinions about this popular Korean restaurant in Garden Grove. Upon closer observation and recollecting on our dining experience here, however, my opinion has soured for some good reasons. Their specialty dish — Yook Soo Bulgogi(Sliced Seasoned Beef w. Beef Broth and Additional Noodles) $ 18.99, is essentially a Korean version of the Japanese dish — sukiyaki sans the raw eggs. One order of this dish is barely enough to feed two people. Moreover, there is also a two order minimum if you request this dish as others have mentioned. Shelling out $ 38 for two orders of a sukiyaki dish that feeds merely 3 people was a bit much. Despite the warnings from others, we at least expected heartier portions of the yook soo bulgogi for what we had to pay. We were already quite disappointed but then it got even worse. The Huek Dwaeji Samgyeopsal(Black Pork Sliced Bacon) $ 15.99, although premium quality and cut thick, was a complete ripoff! We began as a party of 5 and they served us with only five slices — one slice per person! I was outraged! I could have easily finished all five slices myself. Even if there is no two order minimum, I strongly suggest ordering two plates of this dish as well for a party of 3 or more people. We briefly considered this option but as the number of dishes began to mount, we had already spent more than we had bargained for. Nonetheless, three dishes down and the five of us were still hungry. We ordered a fourth. The Dwaeji Bulgogi $ 15.99(Spicy Sliced Seasoned Pork) was also top grade meat: tender, juicy and well marbled. The seasoning, unfortunately, was a bit off and I thought its flavor was too subtle. My dinner guests enjoyed the dish more than I did. Another disappointment for me. A late arriving friend ordered the Haemul Modeum Jap Tang Jjigae $ 13.99(Spicy Mixed Seafood Stew). It literally translates to seafood(haemul) modeum(everything) jap tang(combination seafood) jjigae(stew). I sampled a couple of spoonfuls of it. The jjiage was filled with crab, shrimp, clams, tofu and garnished with enoki mushrooms and green onions. Spicy as advertised, savory and delicious, it was easily the best dish our table ordered this evening. One order of this stew can feed two. But be warned: we were charged $ 15.99 for it, two dollars more than what was listed on the menu. The owner was very friendly, gracious and hospitable. His serving staff, while friendly, were not nearly as attentive. We grew annoyed at times, frustrated with repeatedly unsuccessful attempts to get their attention. It is worth mentioning the restaurant was quite loud and very busy this evening, so we ultimately conceded we had to show them some grace. I suppose the taste and quality of the food was standard to very good. This quickly got lost with me, however, because I could not get over the high prices for a ridiculously small amount of food and the two order minimum on a specialty BBQ(check that: sukiyaki) dish that barely fed 3 people. This all comes out to be a bad combination for me and reasons for not dining here again.
