Half Time Restaurant

The restaurant had a relaxing ambience, although a bit quiet for a Friday night. The food was mediocre, which would usually mean a 3-​star rating. The 2-​star rating is the result of one server’s horrible attitude. We ordered the soju mix for $ 25, rather than just the bottle for $ 12. The soju mix came out very weak, obviously diluted with a filler. We told the server that for $ 25, we expect to taste soju. The girl came back and said that they already put two bottles in there. This is when the trouble starts!
We looked at her in shock. The container can barely hold two bottles of soju, that would be impossible since there was no room in the container to dilute. I would have given more respect if she had said «Sorry, it is our policy to mix with one bottle of soju. You can purchase a regular bottle for $ 12.» My friend snickered and said «there is no way two bottles could be in that container.» She was offended and wanted to bet (what an ego trip). She said if this container can hold two bottles then she will pay for our dinner. We did not want to case a scene, we hate confrontation so had to let it go.
The server came back a few minutes later with an empty container and two soju bottles filled with water. She wanted to prove that it is possible. So she poured and the two soju filled the entire container. She splashed some yogurt juice and said it is very sweet, you don’t need a lot of it. She must be on crack!!!
I have studied mixology and there is ABSOLUTELY no way that a splash of yogurt juice can dilute two bottles of soju to the point that you cannot taste it. I used to mix soju, my filler was Sprite although you can use tonic water, club soda, etc. Since she showed by using water, she really did not prove anything. Our point was that the soju mix DID NOT have two bottles of soju in it… who cares that she can fill the container???
Here is the heads up for anyone who decides to dine here. If you run across the so-​called soju expert (girl that shows aggression), and paid $ 25 for a beverage that taste weaker than lemonade, take the bet! There is no reason to lie to patrons! It is our first and last time at this establishment. She did apologize at the end of the night (probably forced) but that does not excuse her from being deceitful to customers.

Funny how the worker or gf of the owner write review for this place & gave it 5 stars. I smell shadiness here. Thi D (the review before mine) — who are you trying to fool? Are you trying to rave up your man restaurant? Oh wait, I was told you are co owner of the business too. Isn’t there rules against people giving their own business 5 stars? Isn’t that deceiving the real viewers who are reading the reviews?
One recommendation, don’t get too wasted at this place because your bills might be higher than what you actually ordered. Too bad Unilocal doesn’t have negative stars. Not trying to give anyone one bad review but there too much shadiness here not to.

Hot and stuffy! Came with our own seafood to be cooked by the chef. EACH plate was $ 20 to make if not more. We had only 2 lau and they charged us a 3^rd one! We BROUGHT our own lobster and they charged us $ 75 JUST to make it. Advice for anyone that leaves with a big bill CHECK YOUR BILL there was a couple things on the bill in which they charged us EXTRA. S.H.A.D.Y

It’s a small place in garden grove. Foods were okay overall. Took a lil long to come out:(On top of that, I sure hope it was just an honest mistake… but the waitress charged us $ 180 for 6 oysters. The check came out to be ~$ 500 for 10 dishes. I guess if you are buzzed or drunk at these kinda bar food places. you’ll get overcharge EASILY

Soft shell crabs not so fresh. Papaya salad tasteless but crispy rice here pretty not bad. Just missing the texture of the flavor. Out come service is good.

This is the last time I’ll be visiting this place. All night bad bad tummy pain once I got home from here. If the pain didn’t calm down, I’ll have to be rush to ER.

Had a feast here the other day and food was well above average. Prices and portion sizes were all decent. I would recommend if you’re in the mood for some beer food and well… beer. Duh! :)

Super delicious here. I love the bo luc lac. It’s very flavorful and juicy. Price range is avg. Mainly around $ 8-​$ 15.
