This is where I like to come play pool on the weekdays when I feel like it. You really have a choice between 2000 and this place and usually I’ll come here. It’s generally a lot cleaner here even though they don’t replace the felt that often. Even though it’s more expensive, the owner is much more friendly and they offer you a drink when you come in and every now and then if you stay for a while. Taking credit card makes it better as well. What I REALLY like about this hall is that when you are playing pool or ping pong, the owner will keep it open until you are done. I’ve seriously stayed here for a very long time at night, and the owner knows me and my friends. He’s so chill that when I get here a bit before my friends, he lets me play free until they get there. The tables are more straight as well and they don’t have that weird ball return thing where the ball sometimes gets stuck. The in house sticks are also nice for people that don’t have them. The ping pong room is air conditioned which is also nice. The main draw back is that they only have 4 pocket ball tables but its usually less busy than 2000 so finding one isn’t a big problem.

This place has been here for quite a few years, now. The owners have changed but the pool hall is still decently well kept. There’s four pocket tables in the back but this is a Korean billiards hall, which means there’s a lot of 8-foot carom tables, a lot of cigarettes, a lot of loud cursing in Korean, a lot of illicit gambling occurring in wooden drawers and a lot of clownery from pocket players who bring their own stock shaft cues, put on gloves and can’t run out a rack of 9-ball. The felt has seen much better days, so keep that in mind — the pocket tables are considered especially heinous. These tables are referred to by pool players as the special victims unit. Alright, I just struggled in an SVU reference. But actually, little nicks and scrapes on all of the pocket tables. Some of them play much slower than others but balls have a tendency to skid on some of the tighter felt and veer off track due to damage. I don’t shoot pool anymore(or at least I don’t shoot as much as I used to) so the ratings are mostly for the ping pong tables in the back, which are fairly well-kept. Bring your own paddle, for the love of God. The paddles at G.G. could generously be described as «janky af» and in some cases, they’re unplayable. The tables are just fine, though, so just bring your own paddles and balls. Weird atmosphere with the bright lights and the… colorful… patronage(where else are you going to see biker gangs shooting pool with Korean salarymen?), but still my favorite place to play ping pong after all these years.

So you are hanging out in Garden Groove and you just finished eating Korean BBQ and you don’t want to sing Karaōke, what do you do? Shoot some pool of course! Unless you are sleepy and need a quick fix then a vietnamese coffee café might wake you up, but let’s save that for another day. GG Billards is near Shik Do Rak in the plaza across the street on the Wild Crab side. Man, maybe you could have Wild Crab after pool. That is a pretty wild day if you ask me. I didn’t get a chance to play Ping Pong, but this place wasn’t busy or ghetto. Just clean felt tables, pretty decent sticks, and free ice coffee with a reasonable price per hour game of billards. Yum. A great place to chill without gansters and wanksters. I went on a Saturday afternoon it wasn’t too busy. I will definately will come back. I really need to work on my shoot. I can’t just hit the balls as hard as I can and pretend that the stick is the reason I scratched. I’m not that bad. I’m trying really hard to not laugh or say«that’s what she said» with all this talk about sticks and balls. Come here for good clean fun for both friends and family.

Don’t you love a place that hooks up their patrons!!! I came here recently to play ping pong! Yes! Ping Pong! Ping Pong is freakin cool okay… I laugh at myself each time… that I can work up such a sweat playing ping pong. So, I got here a lil earlier than the rest of my group. There are only 2 ping pong tables in the back room. Both ping pong tables were occupied. The owner saw that I was just waiting, so he offered a pool table to me for FREE!!! Isn’t that nice. He just let us play pool for free for like 30 minutes. We played ping pong for 2 hours. Cause Ping Pong is the new Billiards, without the smoking, the pool cues, the beer, bar fights, & cute girls. Yes! I know! I am a huge loser! Haha! J/K! I’m awesome! Just props again to GG Billiards & Ping Pong. They hooked us up today & have hooked up me & my friends before on other occasions. Great place! Great ppl!

This place is open super late and there are always available tables. Not to mention it is only something like $ 7 per hour per table for pool. It is also clean with good AC.

I give this Billiards place 4 stars because it is hardly crowded and they open late. It is of course Korean owened being that it is Garden Grove, but they are very nice here. They have that 3 ball game here that I have no comprehension of how to play but just to have your cue ball hit the other 2, and other than that I don’t know how to score the points. Thus… is the reason why I play 8-ball pool. It is a reasonable price to play pool which is not more than 10 bux an hour. By the way, they also have Ping Pong tables in the back area which is a plus.

With their bright, fluorescent lights, this place felt and looked more like a hospital than a billiards. The pool tables, in addition, are so close to each other that you have to always excuse yourself before each turn. Never did ass slap with another dude until I came here to play pool. Lastly, although I understand this is owned and operated by Koreans, I found the noise of the Korean channel on TV to be excessively loud and annoying. Who wants to hear about which Korean celebrity is dating who when you are playing pool? If you are looking for a real billiards then go to Hard Times in Bellflower. That place is legit with their set up.

So my friend and I were waiting for a friend to get off work and we were like hey lets go play some ping pong. We decided to go to GG since we have been there a few times in the past. Went all the way in the back where they have to decent ping pong tables. We played for about an hour and decided we were both getting tired. So as we were paying they gave us two free bottles of water and charged us 12 bucks for about an hr of ping pong. We both thought it was a lot cheaper in the past maybe around 6 bucks an hr. Overall we had fun but was a little disappointed in the price. Probably wont come back just how expensive it was, and for us to be students at CSUF and CSLB ping pong is a lot cheaper if we had made a trip to campus.

I’m a huge pocket pool player. Not a great one, but I just love to play. The problem is, when you play at bars, it’s generally either too loud and rowdy or too dark and seedy. Also, pool halls are generally not considered the cleanest of places. This establishment breaks that mold. Although there are more inexpensive pool places I’ve been to that charge $ 6−7/hour, I will gladly pay the $ 9−10/hour here because of the cleanliness of the place as well as the fact that they’ve always treated me well. I will miss the free drinks but apparently they aren’t allowed to serve their drinks in open styrofoam cups any more due to health safety. No matter, it doesn’t take away from the fact that they keep a very pleasant atmosphere that allows you to focus on your shooting. They mostly cater to non pocket pool players but they still have four very clean pocket pool tables in the back. Also, they have two ping-pong tables for when my friends and I want to do something different. What bumped my review from a four-star to a five-star is that the last two times I was there, I’ve received especially great service. The former time, my friend and I had been playing a six-hour session and obviously, that gets a bit pricey. When the cashier checked us out, he saw how long we had been there and he gave us two bottles of Gatorades, free of charge. Not a big deal, but hardly necessary. The last time I was there, I asked if I could purchase one of the gloves that they loan to the players there so I didn’t have to keep borrowing one. The woman(I think she is an owner), found a brand new one and gave that to me free of charge. I know these things don’t seem like much but it’s the little things that make me continue to frequent this billiards parlor. I know it means I spend a little more money but I always end up leaving more satisfied than when I’ve shot at other places in the area.

I played ping pong couple of times here. Needless to say due to the competition(another pool/ping pong joint is in the same complex), GG tries really hard to retain their customers. They recognize faces after multiple visits. The facility is clean and cheap.

This review is for my PINGPONG experience. The two tables are setup in the back in a seperate room. It has air conditioning. The paddles are pretty good and the balls are brand name along with the tables. I had a great time here playing. Bathrooms are in the same room so that was convenient as well. Best part was that it’s $ 9/hour. I called in before arriving and they had said $ 12. Maybe it’s because I was speaking with the woman in korean and being polite? Or maybe it’s typically cheaper than 9? Regardless my date and I had fun here and will come again!

Since I don’t play pool much, I must note that I am unaware if the $ 9/hr rate for Friday night between midnight and 2 a.m. is a good deal or not. If I find out it’s high, I will be lowering my rating. This is important because there are a number of options for billiards in the vicinity. When I think of pool halls(not billiards/restaurants), what comes to mind are dark, seedy establishments. This wasn’t the case with G.G. Billiards. The lighting was actually good; too bad for those people who like it dark with the only light directly above their table. Wow, the tables were pretty clean, but it was the cleanliness of the pool balls that surprised me. I had never seen any location with such clean pool balls. Although I doubt they made too much of a difference, I played one of my best games ever. Maybe it was because the cues were decent, too. Anyway, I can’t recall how many tables there were, but at the time I played, there was no wait. In addition, there are two table tennis tables in the back which go for the same rate as pool. One thing I found interesting was the lack of music or anything in the establishment. I’m not even sure if there’s music at most places… Oh well. I didn’t receive any Choco-Pie. Instead, I was given a small styrofoam cup of Coke. I would definitely go back, especially if I find out that the rate is comparable or better than other locations. It was, after all, one of the nicest casual pool halls I’ve been to with a(hopefully) good rate. Still, I suggest you check the other pool hall a few doors to the left to compare the rates. Then let me know how they compare. I tried updating the establishment info, but if it hasn’t been updated, the actual address is 9766 Garden Grove Blvd. 714−636−1517
