Stopped in today on a busy Saturday at The Gallery. This Red Mango was no different — it was teeming with folks lined up for fro-yo even on such a chilly day. My son was pleased enough with his yogurt and assortment of toppings. My order, however, was doomed from the start. Red Mango had added several new offerings to their menu including muffins, soups, and sandwiches. I wasn’t in the mood for yogurt so I opted for a cranberry muffin and latte(especially since it was rather cool outside). I never did get my latte because the machine wasn’t working and no less than 5 different employees tried but to no avail. So, after at least ten minutes of waiting, I suggested canceling the latte order and just getting something else. The nice young lady who heard me promptly agreed to do that and asked me if I would like a free coffee and a refund to my credit card for the failed latte order. I was happy she offered the solution and because she treated my with great courtesy. Unfortunately, the coffee was not very good. The muffin wasn’t either — it tasted just okay but was dry and crumbling. Serves me right for ordering something new/different from a fro-yo place but, hey, I went in with an open mind and it just didn’t pan out. Next time, I’ll stick with the yogurt and walk over to Starbucks if I want a hot drink and a pastry.
