J Michaels floral work is new to me, although I learned when I popped in their delightful store yesterday that the business has been in Boise for almost 30 years. New to this location though and you’ll see a couple of Unilocal reviews posted for the business at the old address which I hope Unilocal carries forward to this new one. THEIRWORKISTHEIRBESTADVERTISEMENT Beautiful and creative floral arrangements. I discovered this when I was in Ennis Furniture last week and the entry flowers were so gorgeous I had to ask from where they came. J. Michaels. Later in the week I was in Telaya winery and the counter floral arrangement, set inside a carved out pumpkin, was so eye catching I had to ask from where it came. J. Michaels had a class in how to do this, the delightful wine tasting hostess(for the record Heather) told me and she made it there. So on a bad day yesterday when I needed a spirit lifter, I could hear J. Michaels calling my name. In I went. It worked. I departed the store in a much happier frame of mind than when I arrived! WHERETHEYARE&WHATTHEYHAVE Co located with the North End Nursery, J. Michael’s at the front of the store and the Nursery at the back, it is a light, bright, well merchandised space of all kinds of wonderful things for decorating a home or providing for a gift or packing a gift or just to lift spirit in browsing about. Prices seem really fair. And a big thumbs up for them leaving enough space between the displays to allow shoppers to comfortably move about without bumping into things. If you’ve been to the Boise Festival of Trees at Christmas time you’ve likely seen and admired J. Michael’s entries there. But I didn’t connect those dots until I was in the store to see a couple of those gorgeous trees on display inside. Don’t miss buying a chocolate or two from the Weiser chocolates counter inside.(Highly recommend the Almond Butter Crunch.) Chocolate cures all blues. SERVICE Six star stellar service from both of the nice folks inside. We chatted about the store and what J. Michael’s offers in addition to floral work. I think I’m going to have them come help accessorize this new home we moved into a couple of months ago.(That is if I can ever get the builder’s sub contractors to get the stuff done they should have had done before we moved in in August. Yes. That is one of the reasons I needed my spirits lifted yesterday and went to J. Michael’s for a little ‘therapy’.) THIS N THAT: 1) PARKING: Big lot shared with North End Nursery. You’ll enter in with North End Nursery store(there’s a great one too but that’s another review) left and J. Michael’s to the right facing the front of the building. 2) ACCESSIBILITY: Accessible parking laid out just right in the lot. Level in the door and throughout. I have MS and if places aren’t accessible I can’t get in to spend money with them and write Unilocal reviews to help others find them to do the same. Good access is good for business. 3) WIN A FLOWERARRANGEMENT A MONTH: Go to Ennis Fine Furniture Facebook page and enter their sweepstakes to be eligible to for a contest in which the prize is one free floral arrangement a month for a year! You’re welcome. 4) REUSEMARKET: At the side of the store you’ll see this sign. It is a resale area for things like spare wrapping paper or ribbons or tiles or craft supplies or fabric remnants… anything you can imagine to donate there that is new and needing a good home can be picked up by folks to be used for their project. Like teachers doing art projects in school or a group doing holiday decorations on a budget. Cool.
