I like the idea behind Firehouse Subs and the selection of hot sauces, but almost every sandwich I’ve had from here is SOGGY. The bread is soggy, the meat is soggy, the toppings are soggy, the dressings and/or juices drip all over the paper and down your arms. The taste is okay, but I hate how everything is DRENCHED in juices. I’ll take Jimmy John’s anyday over Firehouse.

Better than subway for sure! Creative, delicious sandwiches and yummy dill pickles on the side! Sandwiches are good sized and not skimpy on toppings. One of my favorite things about this place is the soda fountain. You have tons and tons of options! It is a digital screen. You select your soda and voila! It creates your soda! When do you ever have the option for DIETROOTBEER?! Now you do, at firehouse.

If you like a hot sub, full of lean meats, crisp lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and ooie gooie melted cheeses … Then Firehouse subs is for you! Well lit and clean establishment with friendly workers. Order at counter and food is brought to you with a smile. Kaylee and Kara will assist you in deciding the right hot sub!

Hmm, I’m in Gambrills enough and I have seen this place one too many times, that I finally decided to step on in. I can’t say that I see too many of these restaurants, rather this is the only one that I have seen in this area. Located in the Waugh Chapel Shopping Center, pretty easy to spot, decent parking for the area. The shop is pretty decent in size, fire station theme, pretty cool. They have hot and cold sandwiches, singularly or ordered in a combo with chips and drink. I believe the sandwiches are eight inches, and come with a 32 oz soda. The whole idea of this pretty dang huge! I got the club on a sub which has smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, bacon, and Monterey jack cheese on a sub roll. Pretty hearty sandwich upon first glance, it tasted great, but how can you mess up anything with bacon, seriously? The pickle was pretty fresh, generally I don’t finish these, but there seemed to be something different about this one. The staff are helpful, courteous and have good attitudes. I’d definitely return if I’m in the area.

Went here for lunch and plus I had a coupon. I see and hear the raves about this place and placed an order for myself(Turkey and cranberry spread) and a Kids meal. You get a choice of rice krispie or chips for 50 cents more and a drink … that’s it. I just got a sandwich and small chips. They have this huge digitized soda machine and so you get a WIDE choice of beverages. All in all, the meal was ok… I may or may not come back but do suggest to those to give it a try.

Although I have not had their subs, my son raves about their menu. His favorite is the Virginia ham sub. This location always is full and the employees have it under control. They get the orders in and the customers out in a timely manner without being rude to you. Their signature sandwich is the Hook and Ladder since it was a business started by a couple of firemen. There’s an assortment of hot sauces on display to ogle or sample with your food choice to add a little zing to your meal. A few tables and chairs for outdoor seating if the weather permits. Plenty of parking and you can even order ahead to avoid a line if you are in a hurry.

Subs are one of my favorites for lunch and this place knows how to do a sub just right — their steak subs are one of the best I had in MD. I only wish there was a location closer to me. I have to drive about 30 minutes to get to them but it is well worth the drive. If you want an awesome sub, Firehouse is highly recommended. I promise that you will come back again and again!

We ordered the Italian subs and they were great. Sandwich was prepared like the picture. Great presentation. Our sandwiches were nice and warm. The staff was friendly and we will be returning. I got my sandwiches to go but the restaurant looked clean and I did see the staff checking on customers. Good job!

I am only giving this place one star because my husband bought a meatball sub from this place last year and it was good. When we went back the second time, they slathered so much mayo on my tuna sandwhich(yuck!!!), I threw the entire sandwhich in the trash. He understood because he knows I hate mayo on a sandwhich. This place is ewww. Boo! Firehouse, you don’t need to add eight layers of mayo if it’s tuna salad.

Fast, fun, and consistently delicious. The staff are nice and always make our visits enjoyable. My wife and I like the Steamer best, but none of the sandwiches have let us down. When the Hawaiian comes to town, we come to Firehouse! The meat is juicy and proportionate to the bread it’s served on. Fully involved is the way to go.

The thing of it is, how do you know if you got a great sub staring at you? I mean, they all have pretty much the same components, right? You got your meat, cheese, veggies and condiments — so, what makes this place so great? Be forewarned, this review may have you running to your nearest Firehouse Sub shop right now. The combination of super fresh shaved meats, lying on top of each other(neither flattened, crammed nor smooshed), but gentle like, on a bed of just shredded, crunchy lettuce and any other amazingly fresh veggies you want. I asked for them to heat mine and the cheese was the perfect amount. Spread some of that hot pepper relish on it. Oh the hands at work here, know what they’re doing. The roll was fresh, chewy. One bite, and the tiniest of hot pepper spread, plops onto my shirt — a sign of sheer sub heaven. I’ve eaten the meatball sub and it is sooo yummy! The meatballs don’t taste like reheated frozen balls, but the real thing, sitting in a satisfying tomato sauce, topped with gloriously melted cheese, sprinkled with oregano.

Everytime we come here we get yummy high quality subs. The staff are so friendly too. Their medium combo drinks are massive! There may be a line here in the evenings but the service is very quick! For the kids: don’t forget to ask for a firehouse hat!

This is one of my favorite sub places in the area. The staff is friendly, the store is clean and the subs are great. I usually get the Italian or Firehouse Hero. Subs have lots of sauce choices and my family loves the soda machine.

Husband and I usually get a large Firehouse Hero with salami and italian dressing on wheat, to share. It’s amazing. Seriously, we tried the Italian and it was very, very good. But we wanted something a little more, so we tried the Hero. Which was also super good. But when we combined them together– yeah, magic happened! Plus, it’s way more than enough to share. 5 stars for the food alone, we’ve never been disappointed. The loss of a star is because of the way the cashiers rush through their opening speech. I actually said something about it last time I was in there, because it really is impersonable and just kind of weird. The cashier questions below may be out of order, but it’s basically: Me: «Hi I’d like a Firehouse Hero, with-« Cashier: «For here or to go?» Me: «Here, please. So Firehouse Hero, but add-« Cashier: «Large or medium?» Me: «Large. So A Firehouse hero, with sal-« Cashier: «Do you want white or wheat?» Me: *sigh* «Wheat. I’m getting there, I promise. A large Firehouse hero, on wheat, with salami and-« Cashier: «Do you want a pickle?» Me: «It says it comes with a pickle on the board.» Cashier: «Yes, but we always ask anyway.» Me: «Okay, sure, yes a pickle is fine. So can you add salami and-« Cashier: «2 or 4 ounces?» Me:(frustrated at this point!) «4. Or 2. It doesn’t matter. But please add Italian dressing.» Cashier: «Well do you still want the lettuce, tomato, and [whatever else they automatically put on it?]» Me: «Yes! Yes, I want a [**big breath**] for-here, large, on-wheat Firehouse hero, add 4 ounces of salami, and italian dressing, with all the regular fixings, please.» Cashier: … rings up… «Do you want chips and a drink with that?» Okay so seriously… just listen to my one sentence. If I get ahead of what you can actually remember to type in, clarify what you’ve forgotten, and let’s all move forward with our lives! Honestly, it’s rude. It may be the system that requires a certain order, but if that’s the case, there are much more creative and polite ways to get the info that you need. In your greeting say, «Hi! Will your order be for here or to go?» followed up with«Would you like a medium or large delicious Firehouse sandwich today?» Something… anything. But basically, pay attention to what I’m saying, repeat the sandwich at the end(and modify if needed) and pretend you give a crap about the fact that you’re «listening» to me speak. Plus it will make the line move so much faster!

Fantastic subs, good food, spacious place, make the sandwich as you want. Better than competitors sub way. I would recommend this for lunch to anyone that loves sandwiches. Service was also very friendly.

I love Firehouse Subs. They have a wonderful turkey sandwich that is perfectly balanced flavor wise. I like to keep my turkey sandwiches simple and they do that. It’s a win.

This is a cool sandwich spot. I ordered the melt and it was pretty good. Not good hours later or the next day so order what you plan to eat immediately Kudos for having Cherry Limeade along with 90+ other flavored drinks for you to choose from Staff was very helpful and nice Ingredients used were good, fresh and tasty Establishment itself had a nice comfy feel about it, clean atmosphere. My friend ordered the Italian sub and said it was better than Jersey Mikes. Me personally i think the sandwich was very good but NOT a Jersey Mike Sub. Overall this is a cool spot to grab a decent sandwich at a reasonable price.

I’ve been in here like 3 or 4 times… tagging along with my honey. But I had never had a tast until yesterday. For some reason when ever we go, Im just not in the mood for a sandwhich, or I just ate. So yesterday, I wasnt super hungry I so just grabbed some fries from Arbys. But we all eat in Firehouse, He offered a bite, so I took this time after so many other times he offered on other visits. It was really good, like really really really good. He got the Italian hot speciality sub, the bread was soft, warm, light and airy. It was a such a great bite, I had to go back for another bite. They make there own pickles and sell buy the bucket… the pickle is so good he doesnt want to share it. So I guess I have to get my own sooooo You know this is a good sammich, Im writting a review on 2 bites. :-) It may. may… may take the place of Jimmy Johns in my heart. Only because you have the option of hot sandwiches.

Doesn’t it feel like everything is being transformed into something upscale? Burgers, frozen yogurt, cupcakes, etc. Firehouse subs comes into the game not openly promoting themselves as an upscale sub shop but make no mistake, their product is next level as compared to their counterparts. Nestled in a sprawling shopping center, in an upscale suburb between DC and Baltimore, this location is a moderately sized place with a good amount of seating options. There are also a couple of flat screen televisions for sports fans. Service is pretty decent. The staff consists of a lot of young energetic folks who do a firehouse chant while preparing customer orders. The order takers/cashiers can be a little flighty. As a submarine sandwich quality control specialist, I must say, they know what they’re doing here. I’ve tried the New York Steamer as well as the Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket. First off, all the subs come in nice portion sizes. The Steamer features corned beef brisket, pastrami, melted provolone, mustard, mayo and Italian dressing. Everything goes together perfectly as the corned beef and pastrami complement each other well along with the condiments. The Italian dressing adds a little tang to things and it most definitely works. The Smokehouse features USDA Choice beef brisket smoked for 10+ hours, melted cheddar, and special sauces. Generous amount of tender brisket slathered in a bbq sauce that hits sweet, sour and spicy notes. Fantastic! The coca cola freestyle machine is a nice touch with over 100 beverage flavors to choose from. Chips, cookies and brownies are the dessert options. The brownies are definitely different than what I’m used to and may be an acquired taste for some. Watch out Subway because Firehouse is up and coming!
