We went here after our cruise on the way back to our hotel. I was tired and exhausted from a week on board eating food I had gotten use to. The service was pretty slow, likely since it was Valentines day. But, overall it was pretty great. I was tired and could have eaten just about anything at that point, but it was still not too bad for a good price and all that!

Came in here after being sleep deprived from sleeping in the car from an overnight fishing trip. Our waiter had a radio in his apron which i didnt really have a problem with but i can see other people would. He forgot our water even though we both ordered water and coffee. I ordered the pecan waffle. I guess its just raw pecans they throw in the batter but there was soo many and i could taste that the pecans were just raw so it was very overwhelming even though it was very filling(i just needed energy for the day of fishing i was going to have) The hash browns were good but everything else was just kind of meh. I’d probably be back in a pinch since i don’t know what else is really open early in galveston(everything seems to open late like around 1130 or so)

Service is soooo slow and not very busy and 3 wait staff. Server took other people’s order who were there 5 mins after us. Asked for a glass of water and finally asked other server for it and he did it(water /ice was 2 steps from us behind counter). Iced tea had just a few ice cubes and was luke warm and tasted bad. She was going to take it off bill and did not. I ordered white toast and bacon. She brought wheat. She was going to exchange it and brought new toast when our meal was done. My husband ordered eggs over medium and they were gross. White wasnt even hard. It was less than over easy. Server — Kristin — was as rude as they come. The other server who helped us was very nice. Do not go here no matter how convenient it is.

Friendly staff and good food. What more could you want? Had the All Star breakfast… well cooked and filling for a great price. Best of all it was right next to my hotel. Please tip them well.

Look I normally do not post on chains — however I will make an exception when you get great service. There is a lady of age –Nunet(sp?) she was great, very hospitable, on the ball ordering, refills on the spot. Look for her and ask for her — she is a kick! So my review is on personal and service.

The waitresses seemed to distracted talking to each other. After my to go patty melt was boxed and ready that’s when she decided to start on my waffle. Super slow service.

Terrible service. Walked in last night with family. A server told us where to sit. Then nothing for 15 minutes. I finally asked the nearest server if she was our server. She simply grunted ‘no’. The servers couldn’t figure out who had our station.

Slow service even though it wasn’t busy. Had to ask for a refill on coffee. Lots of standing around by the employees

This waffle house is the cleanest and most professional I’ve been to so far. It’s the first one I’ve been to where the employees use gloves while handling food. I was at one in Louisiana yesterday and the cook was smoking when we pulled up and didn’t wash his hands. we had to tell him too wash his hands and he gave us attitude but this place they use gloves… they may not change them like they should but they still wear them

Came here in the evening and the place wasn’t even busy and the waitress gave me my food without any utensils. I finally got some after 5 minutes by the time my waffle was cold. Once my friends got their food it was all wrong. The hash browns didn’t have half the things we ordered and one never got the sausage that was supposed to come with her meal despite asking the waitress directly. They had to wait again to get any utensils and when we asked a guy named manny he was rude and acted like we were bothering him by asking for anything. Will not be coming here again. Very disappointed with the service here.

meh, been to waffle houses since a kid… they’re all the same. fattening-greasy breakfast food with dirty nasty people eating it! i know i always look my worst when going in there… isnt that the norm?!! ive had everything there is to have… and have the mug to prove it… suggestion…just once it would be nice to have smothered, covered and peppered all sauteed together instead of just thrown in as an after thot

So, I came here with my dad and his old time friend. He friend had craving for porkchops.. haha, It’s funny ’cause he said he had that before at a Waffle House, but at this one it wasn’t on the menu and he was shocked. I’ve been in a WF and had a little something off of others plate, but never eaten for myself. The ceiling leaks from the air conditioner and drips on the floor, while the waitresses move around with people plates of food. The water just drips and there is no way to tell if the ceiling water got in anyone’s food. When I was there, there was more customers than staff. It was just the manager(our waitress), another waitress, and the cook. Eventually, as time went by more staff showed up(3 more females). I order chocolate chip waffles and I wasn’t given any syrup. I guess, our waitress thought it was sweet enough.. but how? The chocolate chips aren’t even baked into the waffle it’s just on top. I asked another waitress(wearing glasses) passing by. for syrup. She scattered through a cabinet and dropped the syrup wasting it all on the floor(of the entrance into the kitchen). All the staff, seemed to be in a panic or chaos, trying to rush to place orders and wait on customers. My dad and his friend coffee was cold. They didn’t have a microwave to heat it up and didn’t attempt to make hot coffee. They did not give water to us. The water the waitress poured over the spilled syrup was steaming hot. I was thinking how did they have a way to heat the water up, but not the coffee? My dad friend, was fed up with the service he wanted hot coffee and told the waitress. She took his coffee and said she will be back with hot coffee, but never came back with it. Until, the end(we all finished eating and the tab was given) where she brought out a glass of water for him. I had hot chocolate, even that was cold and powdered. Our waitress kept wiping the sweat off her forehead, but was not wearing gloves and I did not once see her wash her hands. I overheard and saw– a boy and his dad order sweet tea the dad tea was sweetened and the boy was unsweetened. The boy had to tell the waitress about the problem and she told him that she failed to read the label. Our food– My dad had sunny side up eggs, grits, and patty sausage. He complained that the his food was cold and the grits tasted like instant. His friend had grits, eggs, and bacon. He again complained that the food was cold. I had something simple. grilled ham and cheese sandwich with supposedly signature hash browns and waffle with chocolate chips. I knew they couldn’t mess up the sandwich but I was just worried that the leaking ceiling water would seep onto my sandwich(without me knowing). The sandwich was good(and no it didn’t taste funny). The waffle was cold too and it was bland tasting. Thank you, IHOP for having good pancakes! The hash browns on the other hand, was nasty. It tasted bland, no seasoning tasted a little like freezer burnt and dish liquid. Yeah, suppose to be famous and known for the hash browns.. . totally messed that up 61st Waffle House.

I have eaten at a waffle house up in Dallas before and loved it. But here Service was bad and our waitress was rude and mean. They had more people working here than eating! Cafeteria food style. The food was extra greasy when our food came out. Took forever on the food for just two people. Overall disappointed.

First time at a Waffle House and the experience was great! The girls serving the food so were so cool and full of personality. The guy doing most of the cooking was working his tail off and still managed not to mess a single thing up. All the girls were helping with the cooking too when things seemed to be at a little rush. The food tasted great and service was superb. Would recommend this place to anybody in the Galveston area!

This place stays packed but one of the staff members remembered me when my daughter and I were there back in early June. That made me very happy and she even asked how my daughter was doing. That really impressed my husband and my brother-in-law.

Great tasting waffles. Kind of a hole in the wall joint that’s a bit run down. Got to sit at their bar area where you can watch the cook make your food. Our waiter was a sweet southern older lady who was really kind. Food was authentic, priced well considering it all tasted so good. Don’t expect a five star experience. If your into good food at a good price and favor food over service check it out.

A southern classic! Best waffles and sweet tea. Try the new jalapeño cheddar biscuits, with egg, bacon, and cheese. Pecan and peach waffles are way better than IHOP. You can see your meal being cooked right in front of you.

We walked into a surreal nutso experience. There is a middle aged woman with glasses loudly pontificating about something holding a slip of paper, I could not make out what the issue was with her accent. I do not know if she was in charge or not but all the other staff were sort of scowling at her. There were four empty tables uncleaned while the ample amount of staff seemed directionless. Finally one shuffles over and resentfully buffs one, and then mopes off. At no point did any of these people acknowledge our presence standing in the appropriate waiting location by the door. We decide to slide into the one we noticed the table was hit with a cloth, and immediately got all our butts soaked as we had not noticed that she had hit the benches with a seriously wet cloth. Thanks for the memories, Waffle House.

Yea, it’s a Waffle House. I had never been to one before Friday night and its not on my list to go back to anytime soon. I imagined it to be like an Ihop or Denny’s so I figured you couldn’t go wrong with some breakfast in the evening. Our server was great. She was so bubbly and friendly even though she was working the graveyard shift. We ordered some coffees and our food. I ordered an egg white omelette with cheese and hash browns. It was a lot of American cheese, an overwhelming amount. Nate got a sandwich with steak, bacon, cheese and peppers. It came out with only steak and cheese and very little of it. He told me it was one of the worst Waffle House experiences he had and he has been to a lot of Waffle Houses. We will probably try it again because we like to give things more than one chance but it won’t be on top priority list.
