Fantastic service and food. I will commend the owners for definitely stepping up during the Memorial Day dinner rush. They kept accommodating families of 5+ despite being past the closing time. The food, as expected was on a long delay. However, the taste was sensational and the presentation was flawless. Will definitely be eating here again!

I barely ate the 2 times I’ve been, but I was so so impressed by the staff. Very kind and very hard working. Beautiful restaurant… didn’t expect it to be so big or elaborately decorated!

What an amazing restaurant, once you enter inside it’s very organized, beautiful and spacious, it has full bar with lots of TVs and also has small hall for private party. The walls are decorated with big and beautiful himalayas pictures. The staffs are very freindly. Coming to food, I have tried many indian style restaurants in different cities, but the food here was extremely delicious, fresh and healthy. It will surpassed any of the indian restaurant I have ever tried. The spices are at the right amount and were made accordingly to your order. I took my american freinds and they liked the food very much, and they also had american menu for people or kid who didn’t wanted to try indian food. Highly recommended! Worth the trip.

Stop reading this review and just go eat there! The food is amazing. Even if you don’t like«Indian» food, you will find something you will love. Tons of vegetarian options and there is so much flavor to everything. You know how sometimes you find a place to eat and you can’t stop thinking about it? This is it for me. I highly recommend the lunch buffet and it’s only $ 10.99. Please go there and help keep this place in business.

Excellent Indian and Nepali food. Even the huge Sunday buffet options are almost as good as home cooked. The bread is served hot and fresh. Plenty of seating and attentive polite service. You can’t go wrong with this place if you are a fan of Indian food.

Finally! A great Indian restaurant on the island. Eating in or taking, the food is excellent and the service superb. I’m a fan of the vindulo but the chicken tikka masala is also great. Add some sag paneer and naan and you have a wonderful taste if India.

Delicious! I’ve only been for the luck buffet a few times and it was always spot on. Great selection and great depth of flavor in the dishes. I’ve been told dinner service is even better!

The food here is amazing!!! Everything is authentic & delicious! The Tandoori mixed grill was fantastic. Came out of the kitchen on a sizzling platter. The Chicken Curry was also tasty. It was served with fresh made Naan bread. Yum!!!

This is now my first choice for lunch on the island! Not your average buffet, this Indian & Nepali food was exceptionally fresh… great for vegetarians and meat eaters alike, my favorite was the chicken cilantro but the chicken Kadie was also to die for! Also the cabbage salad– yum!!! Come to the lunch buffet STARVING& try it all, bc my only regret was that I couldn’t fit more in my belly!

What an awesome surprise. Went for their weekend buffet and completely satisfied. Some of their items that are Nepalian food are unique and the highlight of the buffet. Bagan Varta is the eggplant mash that are divine and special dessert called Burfi(Pistachio Bar) was amazing. I will go back again and again. Other dishes that I like is goat curry and rice pudding. Oh. and they bring out warm from the oven naan bread that are supper comforting. Yay for another addition for Galveston’s food diversity.

Great food, very clean, friendly staff. A bit disorganized as several people tried to take our order, but that’s better than no service! The pistachio ice cream is wonderful!

Absolutely loved this place. Went in to try the buffet and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was super flavorful and I especially enjoyed the fresh Naan that was constantly offered throughout the meal. I wish I could remember the name but the lentil dish was my favorite– mixed with rice or dipped in Naan. Omg. Will definitely be coming back before Moving off the island in June!

We were a little concerned when we went in and were the only people there, but it was only 15 minutes after opening and Easter to boot. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, patient and prompt. We ordered the Himalayan Special Thali(sampler for 2) and were very impressed with the presentation. The evening only got better as we tried all of the dishes, and we are bringing plenty home! The staff was even kind enough to wrap our to-go containers in cellophane after we packed them. We will be returning again for the tikka masala, palak paneer, naan, chicken mo mo, and chicken kebab.

I love this place! I was skeptical at first because Indian food in Galveston?!? But I’ve since been three times and each visit has been equally delightful. Their tandoori meats are always tender and flavorful, and the naan is soft and fluffy. As of today, they also have one imported Indian beer on the menu. Their staff is incredibly friendly and eager to please. Fresh food, comfortable atmosphere, fun place.

We really enjoyed the The Himalayan Taste and I’m gonna be straight up — we love that this has the Sports Bar label because this restaurant is going through an identity crisis. We’ve NEVER been to such a spacious restaurant and you can clearly tell they really wanted the sports bar thing to work out. The pool tables are gone but the pool table lights aren’t… Love it. We went for the buffet and really enjoyed the variety of options — everything was delicious and the service was really great though bordering on harassment — if you don’t ask for a soda refill you’ll have 4 different servers try and hook you up. If we’re ever back in Galveston we’ll be going back to the The Himalayan Taste!

I prefer South Indian cuisine. With that being said, this was the best North Indian cuisine I’ve had! Service was great. Atmosphere was pleasant. We’ll be back. I would love it if they offered a few South Indian dishes(chili porata, idilis, dosa)

So I actually came here for their Nepali food. Only the different mo-mo variations were on the menu, but they offer other Nepali dishes off the menu. Just ask your server about it because they are definitely worth trying especially if you like spicy and flavorful food. The portion sizes are very generous; the $ 12-$ 15 dishes are obviously bigger than the $ 8 mo-mos which was relatively small. We were four people and were full after just two of our six dishes came out. Overall, the place was clean, service good, and food good. If you get the chance you should try this place.

Flawless Indian Cuisine. Shockingly, this restaurant serves some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Right from the first bite of papadum & chutney I knew I was in the presence of a talented chef. The papadum was fresh, crisp, lightly seasoned, and free of oily residue. While each chutney was an absolute symphony of flavor; the herbs & spices blended beautifully while maintaining a perfect balance of spiciness & sweetness. Having two orders of an item I normally pass on speaks for itself. Their Tikka Masala is absolutely the best! The chicken so moist & succulent, the sauce just the perfect concoction of herbs, spices, and cream. I normally have at least one complaint about someone’s Tikka Masala– overpowering spice, too bland, meat too dry, sauce not the right consistency, etc. There are none for this one. Words can not begin to describe the perfection that their Tikka Masala is. Their Basmati rice was also delicious and complemented the Tikka Masala and Paneer Saag very well. Lastly, their Naan was just heavenly. Fresh right out of the oven, warm, soft, pillowy mounds of deliciousness that accompanied the leftover curry perfectly. I also love that this restaurant is not pretentious nor is it expensive. We had 2 drinks, 3 entrees, 2 sides, and 2 desserts for less than $ 60. That is right, 60 bucks for the best Indian food you’ll ever have. Worth it, without a doubt.

They are open for dinner but the way to go, IMHO, is to hit the lunchtime buffet, because you can try several dishes at once. If I’m not mistaken this is Galveston’s first-ever restaurant that serves Indian food, a welcome addition, now all we need is a thai place! Friendly staff, good food, check it out.

Finally the wait is over!!! I’ve been anxiously waiting for Himalayan Taste to officially open. It was totally worth the wait. The interior has been redecorated very nicely. Picturesque landscape paintings on the walls. Comfortable seating. Open and bright dining area. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I was there for lunch, so I could have the buffet. Everything was delicious. Nice selection of vegetarian dishes. If you don’t know what’s in a dish just ask, the staff are very nice and will describe the food for you. The very charming Santos came by our table several times with fresh, warm naan. Beverages were always full and the plates cleared quickly. The bar area looked like a great place to hang out and watch a game on TV or just to play some pool and drink a beer or two. Overall it was a fantastic experience. I will definitely return to try the dinner menu.
