Their food is to DIE for. The lobster baked potatoes are so awesome, I literally get cravings for them. You really can’t go wrong with anything here. The service is awesome too. This is a great spot for a romantic weekend dinner on the island.

Enjoyed an outstanding birthday dinner at Number 13. The shrimp appetizer was a great start to the dinner. Dry aged ribeye was perfect. Filet Oscar style was massive, most places give you a tiny crab cake, not Number 13! Make sure you try the potatoes au gratin!!! The S’mores dessert they had was to die for! A must try for anyone looking for a great steak with an amazing view!

I cannot say enough about the great food & excellent service that we had at Number 13! We looked for a special place to make reservations for a party of 14 following our son’s graduation from UTMB. Eric was wonderful to work with and responded quickly to my emails and requests. I truly felt that he became a part of our very important celebration. For special occasions or whenever you want a delicious meal in a lovely atmosphere, go to Number 13. We’ll be back!

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Number 13 a few weeks ago while in Galveston for a weekend get-away. The food was top notch, the service was spot-on and the ambience was beautiful! It is pricey… but we knew that going in and have no problem spending money when the entire experience warrants it. If you are looking for a budget friendly place, find somewhere else to dine. But, if you are looking for a fine dining experience in Galveston… this is the place to go!

I can’t recommend this place more. I came for my birthday with 15 girls. I am not from Galveston, but when searching for places to eat here, most places are very casual looking. I also didn’t want to go somewhere too fancy. Number 13 has awesome décor with huge glass mosaic chandelier type things hanging down and large windows overlooking the sea. It’s nice, but not too formal. Everyone seemed to be thoroughly enjoying their food. The only let down for me was their cheese and meat board. I have had a lot at different places, and this one was just a little bit of a let down. Especially for $ 18 I would expect a little more like honey, nuts, berries etc. But overall great service and they gave me two free desserts for my birthday since we were such a big party. The crème brûlée was amazing!

Beautiful ambiance! Great for a date night or small party celebration. We asked to be seated outside on the patio for a small, intimate gathering. Service, food, ambiance — it was all top-notch and highly recommended!!!

Avoid this place at all costs. Service was non existent. No exaggeration 30 minutes before we were asked what we Wanted to drink. 20 more minutes to get our drinks. 30 minutes later we flagged down our waiter to order our food finally. Another 45 minutes to get 2 soggy hamburgers and when they brought the food we still hadn’t gotten silverware or Napkins. I had to flag the waiter down for a 5th time to get napkins. They weren’t busy. The dining room had only one table of customers. The outside deck maybe had 20 people total. Very very poor experience! They comped our food and we paid for drinks. I won’t be back.

Wonderful! Our group of 5 had the iced seafood appetizer. The crab legs and shrimp cocktail were so wonderful! We each had different steaks — some dry aged and some Akaushi. All were cooked perfectly! Our favorite sides were the jalapeño Mac and cheese and the butternut squash. We also had the apple strudel and s’more desserts. Everything was delicious — we will definitely be back!

Great place, food was amazing and the service was excellent. I had New York Strip and my husband had Bone in Ribeye, dry aged. Perfectly cooked. The bread was amazing too . Atmosphere was relaxing. Very nice place, we will be back ! Oh, and the Chocolate Molten … Yum!

We motored into the marina for gas and decided to stay for lunch after spying Number 13 and asking the attendants about it. Interior is really nice and can say it’s one of the more attractive restaurants on the island. They have a high vaulted ceiling with lacquered wood beams, a large sleek bar in the center of the dining area, and then various seating options in the open dining room. Most of the seating is poised to have a wonderful view of the marina and bay beyond. The food we got for lunch was good. I ordered a burger which came out to order and nothing stood out as wrong or off form anyone at the table. I’d say the prices are a little high, but then again, this is one of the few nicer dining options around and I’m sure the prices are more justified come dinner time. My big rub was the service though. Things started out great with attentive quick drinks and taking down order, but then we waited close to an hour for our food. Once the food came out, the waitress was very apologetic later saying that the owner was dining with friends nearby which delayed our order. We were one of maybe 3 or 4 tables in the entire place. You’d think the focus would be to cater to the customers, or at least not to leave them hanging for close to an hour, even if the owners were getting all the VIP service. Besides the bad wait time though, things were good enough and we’ll surely be back to give it another go. Hopefully a more overall positive update review to come.

I had been withholding this review until after I’d fully experienced Number 13. I have been here many times and enjoyed delicious martinis on the upstairs patio overlooking the beautiful bay. Now recently I had the pleasure of dining inside with a full course meal. Being that this was a last minute decision I was pleasantly surprised that they would accommodate my last minute reservations. The lady on the phone was extremely pleasant and when we arrived we were welcomed with bright smiles. We had a table that faced the bay and the lights on Moody Gardens completed the amazing atmosphere. There was a live band playing at the moment but not so loud that I had to yell at my dinner guest. Our waiter was amazing and recommended items not on the menu and steered me away from making a bad drink selection. There was also a wine expert on staff in case you had any questions about the menu. The food was really good. I had steak and mushrooms and my guest had steak and the potatoes au gratin. We enjoyed good conversation, great drinks, and an amazing ambience. I can’t wait to go back!

I was concerned prior to going after reading the reviews regarding menu availability. They were out of a few items but fortunately nothing that we wanted. We had an early reservation on a Saturday night, which was nice because the crowds will show up! The décor and view are amazing and beautiful. It is truly the most beautiful restaurant in Galveston. The food was fantastic. Not a huge menu but it’s a steak house so that’s expected. The ridiculous popovers are something different than your ordinary bread or chips. We had the fried oyster appetizer and a half dozen Connecticut oysters on the half shell. I could have just had those all night. For main my wife had the dry aged rib eye and I had the wet aged, we both ordered medium rare. Mine was cooked perfectly, hers was much more medium but she said the flavor was fantastic. For sides we had the mushrooms and the cauliflower and capers, you can make both at home, but still a solid side. The Moscow mule was a fun drink and we also some ginger and lemon concoction that was good. It was our anniversary and our waiter brought us two glasses of Prosecco, that was a nice touch. Overall it is a great place, the crowd is eclectic with marina people coming in very casual and large groups as well as children. It can get noisy as the night goes on, but it’s not bad. Pricey, but we were expecting that. Our server and wait staff were great as well as the hostess. We will most definitely go back.

Tried this place for the first time over Labor Day weekend. My husband and I though the build your own bloody bar sounded good, but it was nothing special. The food and the service were decent but nothing special. For the price we paid I would expect more from the food and the service. My son had the red velvet waffle which was served with a tasty honey butter cream, delicious. My husband had the quail, served with a tasty gravy, delicious. What I had was unimpressive: the tuna tartar and the wedge salad, both were ok but nothing special. We also had a dozen oysters. I would go back to enjoy the view and get some oysters as long as I have some extra cash to spare.

Where do I start… First they were out of bottled water and half the menu(literally). It’s a fine dining seafood/steakhouse and they had no mussels, no lobster, no oysters and like 5 other dishes. The waiter refilled everyone’s drinks except our 5 year old’s drink. He brought me and my kids tiny bread plates to eat our $ 150 dollar meal on. We had to ask him for salt/pepper, sugar for our tea etc. we had to ask for everything! The bread was onion bread that was hard on the outside and raw dough inside. Blah. It was disappointing and annoying. Would I go back? NO! My family enjoys many fine dining restaurants-this one was below par. The inside is pretty, but other than that blah.

Ashleigh started the meal with fresh hot towels, extremely attentive and not ADD! Ginger lemon drop a must, scallops and lobster small portion, seared and grilled to perfection. Had nothing left over to rot in a the hotel fridge. Red snapper had not been swimming in butter. S’mores in a mason jar amazing! Ashleigh gave us the place to buy fish that they buy fish from-no tackle box for me Perfect for dinner, this place opened in 2013 and was pristine, no loud music or screaming big or little kids. Will return for lunch. Prices were value added. May this place be here for many years to come.

Our last night in Galveston, we wanted to try something decent. It is hard to find a 5 star place on Unilocal for any place in Galveston but found several 4 star places. This was a little drive from where we were staying but decided to try this place based on the reviews. The prices were not too bad, the service was good. The place was not crowded when we first arrived and they must have a happy hour because they have a good size bar and the bar filled up not long after we arrived. We were seated quickly and our server came over, she was nice but did not introduce herself so I had to ask her for her name. She did take the time to explain the menu to us and rest of the service was very good. The food was amazing, the quality of the everything was very good. The Ribeye was cooked perfectly, of course you get some amazing pop over bread which is a meal in itself and almost hard to stop eating it was so good, but room had to be saved for the rest of the meal. We had a great experience here and this is a place we will go back to if we ever find ourselves in the Galveston area again. I don’t anticipate that anytime soon, but I am sure we will be back down there again.

Lovely setting. Kind of hard to get to so have google maps navigation ready to go. Sazerac 3⁄5 Le biffy ordered this drink. Was not expecting it to come in a martini glass Moscow mule 4⁄5 Refreshing and cute presentation! A little on the too sweet side for me Crab cake 2⁄5 Really small and mediocre flavor Pork belly and burrata 2⁄5 Cool idea, terrible execution. A large cube of pork belly that was seared in the outside, but still cold inside and I am not a fan of fat mushy fat. had a few good bites of warm outside pieces, burrata, and pomegranate seeds Seafood platter for 23⁄5 Go with the king grab option. really fresh and good quality shrimp and crab. The oysters were a bit on the wimpy side and I didn’t even bother eating the mussels. It also had small chunks of raw tuna with mango. Was not a fan Dry aged New York strip 5⁄5 We added foie gras and lobster claw meat. The meat was good so perfectly medium rare! An even medium rare throughout with a thin sear on all sides. The foie gras was incredibly fatty and had the most interesting texture! Wild mushrooms 3⁄5 Consisted mostly of shiitake. I wish there was more variety but oh well I love mushrooms Brussel sprouts 3⁄5 Nothing fancy Smores 3⁄5 The toasted marshmallow was delicious! I also enjoyed the cool chocolate mousse. The Graham cookie on the bottom was not so much. It was course, bland, and really chunky All in all, the steaks are the really winner.

We had a lovely, slow and relaxed meal on a weeknight at Number 13. Had we been in a hurry, perhaps the service might have been just a tiny bit lacking – that is, things were a little bit slow, and we had to remind the server a couple of times to get drinks or ask for refills, etc., but since we were wanting to just sit back and enjoy a leisurely dinner, it was really exactly what we wanted. I can’t really complain about a single thing. They were out of the caviar we ordered, so they bumped us up to the next higher grade at no additional charge. When we told the server it was my birthday, they comped a drink for me as a gift! All our food was served piping hot from the kitchen, with multiple servers delivering it so we all received it at the same time. At first, I thought their drinks were a little expensive, but when they arrived, I realized they were about twice the size of the average drink I usually get from an upscale restaurant, so the prices were really comparable. A manager visited our table to see how our service was. The atmosphere is nice and laid back, classy but not pretentious. It’s beautiful on the inside, the view is gorgeous – the place is clean, neat and well laid out. The water view tops everything and was nice to gaze out over the water while dining. Our server and water service were both friendly and fantastic. And when they boxed my bouillabaisse up to take home, when I got it home the next day to eat for lunch, they had surprised me by adding some extra mussels(a lot of them!) to my to-go bowl! Thank you for that! We had appetizers, charcuterie, caviar, salad, entrée and desserts. Everything was simply wonderful. We will definitely be returning and can’t wait to try them for a leisurely lunch overlooking the marina! Thanks for a great birthday, Number 13~! And the last part of the review, about accessibility: Fantastic! A simple, not too elevated ramp to the front door, a full opening front door without sectioning in the middle, and the tables and chairs all spaced widely enough for very comfortable maneuvering inside the dining room, even when completely full. Also, we had put on the reservation that one in the party was in a wheelchair, and they had a chair removed already for me right by the window with a great view. A definite A+ experience for accessibility at this place!

I loved this place! After reading reviews and doing menu reconnaissance, I decided I would haul my husband when we were in Galveston. We came on a Friday night, kinda of late(8:30ish) and I don’t know why this place wasn’t packed! The inside was pretty sparse, and there were about a handful of people outside downstairs. We sat out on the Terrace upstairs. Downstairs, there was some performer going on, but we weren’t in the mood for live music(but we could still hear it!). Upstairs was completely empty, but had plenty of patio furniture for us. There are also 2 tvs, so we requested that they put on the baseball playoff series. We ordered some raw oysters, a lobster roll, and a burger. I had a glass of wine, and my husband had a moscow mule. I like that Number 13 had 2 different varieties of oysters, because I think it’s interesting to taste the differences between oysters raised in 2 different areas. The lobster roll had nice large chunks of lobster, and the lobster to bread ratio was generous. I think it could have used less mayo. I’m not a huge mayo fan, and like my seafood lightly dressed, so I was scraping the mayo off. Although the mayo appeared homemade and wasn’t too greasy. The burger was beautifully cooked, with a nice No. 13 stamped on top. It was a little salty for my palette, but others might disagree. The french fries were cut thick, and seemed to taste a little sweet to us. We couldn’t figure out why. But the homemade ketchup is definitely on the sweet side. I would definitely come back for the steak for a splurge dinner. It was nice eating out on the water, and more people need to patronize this place to keep nice establishments in Galveston!
