Let me start by saying, I’ve been here in the past and enjoyed every other visit. From the looks of it, there’s a different chef, and it’s not a good one. Went for dinner, sat right away, so it wasn’t busy. Waited 30 minutes for the bread, received entrees shortly afterward. I ordered a ny strip, which I’ve had there before, so I expected the same. Well, I received a rib eye and was told it was a strip. I’m no dummy. On top of that, it had some kind of «sauce» on it that looked more like brown gravy than anything else. I didn’t know it was Salisbury steak night or I would have ordered the chicken! My other half ordered chicken parm which she said was not the same quality she had become accustomed to. All around bad experience, and we will not be going back

There are rare times that service problems are so exceedingly annoying that they overshadow everything else about a restaurant experience. This is one of those times. Particularly surprising and disappointing was the obnoxious behavior of the manager. On a recent afternoon, we stepped in, lured by the advertised pre-noon-to-evening happy hour. The place is quite nice, with an open kitchen, a variety of tables and booths, and outdoor seating on a deck. There were a few occupied tables, but the restaurant was mostly empty as it was the late afternoon. We had plenty of time to look around as we waited by the abandoned host’s station. And waited some more. Eventually I tracked down a server and asked if we could check out the happy hour on the deck; he replied affirmatively and said he’d come out to get our orders shortly. Eventually he showed up to take our orders. Thankfully, it didn’t take too long for the happy hour pizza and beer to show up. They were both actually pretty good, and a great deal at the happy hour prices. When we got our check, however, I saw that we had been charged the wrong amounts. I pointed this out to our server, who said he’ll take care of it. Instead of taking care of it, though, he handed us off to his manager, who showed up a while later. The manager proceeded to haughtily interrogate us as to whether we had ordered before or after 3pm, which was infuriatingly absurd and irrelevant, as the restaurant signs and menu clearly — in printed English letters — state that their happy hour runs from 11 to 7. Besides, as I explained to the manager, the server personally informed us that it was happy hour at the time. Following a frustrating back-and-forth, the manager eventually officiously relented and agreed to correct the check. Then we got to wait some more. Eventually, after waiting long enough, I went back in to see the manager again. He dismissed my inquiry saying that the server was taking care of the check. I spotted the server at his computer station and walked over to ask him again for the check. He said he’d be right over with it. Having been bounced about their byzantine bistro-labyrinth long enough, I just took out my wallet and left him a cash amount to cover the bill and a tip that he did not at all deserve. And only then did we finally get to finally depart.

Had a good happy hour snack. Server was new buy friendly. Enjoyed the Shrimp Cocktail, Wedge Salad, and a few other apps.

Went here because I was craving baked oysters but didn’t want to drive to Gilhooleys. Oysters were just ok. A little gritty. Drink was slow, beignets good. Not great but not awful. Atmosphere plain and interior not very warm or unique. Felt like a chain. We were sat right next to the kitchen even though there were plenty of empty ones near windows.

Ordered the $ 10 three course meal and the lobster/shrimp tacos tasted like they were frozen and heated up in a microwave. If you come, stick to the pizza.

3 course lunch at Nonni’s was awesome. The staff was attentive and the finish a beignet. What else could you ask for?

Gumbo was not what I expected. Felt like it was missing something. Husband had lobster tacos that look like fried burritos and tasted fishy and mushy. Kids chicken tenders were an over cooked chicken breast cut in slices. Fries were good and the fried shrimp looked good but no shrimp sauce. Best part of meal was the warm crusty bread with dipping oil.

We were in Galveston and stopped by for lunch. Decided to try the $ 10 three course lunch. This is a great value for the money. I had the Greek salad, the chef’s choice entry and desert. My first surprise at that price was fresh baked bread, something many restaurant have stopped providing. The salad was fresh and well dress. The entry of fresh tilapia and apple cabbage slaw was larger than expected. The server was extremely attentive and it made for a great lunchtime experience.

I’ve been here a few times and I have to say, as far as Galveston dining goes, it’s really good! Service was remarkable and the food was fresh and tasty. I’ve tried the calamari, Atlantic salmon, gumbo, and the chicken alfredo and have been fully satisfied with those. As far as cocktails, they aren’t wonderful, but their pink lemonade is my top pick. Overall good atmosphere and great food!

We tried Nonno Tony’s for the first time tonight. It was good. The host was semi-helpful. The server we had(James?) was excellent. We ordered a glass of Riesling. I’m no wine expert, but I enjoyed it. Price was decent. James brought us fresh, hot bread with dipping oil. Then we got salads. Fair. Then we got our entrees. My partner got chicken fettuccine alfredo and said it was delicious. I had a margherita pizza. Yum! Their crust was really tasty. Our bill was about $ 50 for two people. Not bad. They have a nice patio on the water, but it’s too hot to enjoy in August. I hear they have a nice lunch buffet. We’ll go back to try it! One tip for management: keep an eye on your restrooms. They were dirty.

I really don’t know why this place has good reviews. The food was pathetic. There was nothing on the menu that looked appealing. I ordered chicken Parmesan and the chicken was dry and not saucy enough. The service was really poor. We were there for a friends birthday and our waiter ruined the surprise bday cake and just casually dropped it on the table. We were a big group so we all ordered different things but the only thing that was decent was the margarita pizza. I am not surprised that the restaurant was completely empty with just one(or two) tables on a Friday night.

Stumbled across this place when looking for a restaurant that could please the five people in our party. Service was a little slow, but the food was amazing! Everyone was very pleased, including the very picky 13 year old we had with us. We ended up ordering beignets too and all agreed that they’re the best you can get without going to New Orleans(and they may even be just as good).

It’s 3 out of 5 because the food is really not impressive. Lacks flavor and we had the pizza… kinda greasy. Mozzarella appetizer was fair though! Our server was AMAZING! Honest opinion and even helped make our food better than it would’ve originally been served! We left full and happy because of her.

SO and I finally branched out and tried Nonno Tony’s after hearing some good reviews from friends. For an appetizer, we split the Seared Tuna Salad. The Ahi tuna was seared perfectly and the Asian slaw was delicious. For my entrée, I ordered the Salmon Pontchartrain. It was extremely good! The salmon was cooked perfectly and it came with grilled veggies and potatoes. SO ordered the Filet Mignon with Lump Crab and it also came with grilled veggies and potatoes. He said it was great and well worth it. After lunch, we went and strolled around the pier. I’d definitely recommend checking out Nonno Tony’s when in Galveston!

This is a favorite place to go when my family is in town. There is a wide variety of food, from pizza/italian to seafood to steak. The food is well prepared and the servers are very nice. Plus, they have a daily happy hour with inexpensive appetizers and drinks as well as a patio for when the weather is nice.

Slow service, incorrect orders, timing way off. 2 hours of FAIL. Run away! We had a group of 9, 6 adults and 3 kids. Nothing was right-nothing. The manager/maître d’ seats us… We are on the patio waiting for a server. Finally the manager/maître d’ comes and takes our orders. He never sent a waiter. So 1 of the 3 kids’ orders was prepared correctly. 3 adult orders came out. 3 adult orders never came out. Then we are brought a bill before we finished-and never received all the food ordered. Then told they didn’t have the other 3 adult orders… _____ Mind you the, the manager/maître d’/waiter took the orders. When we inquired about the other 3 items, he turned over his order slip(or whatever he used to write it down) and saw the other 3 items and realizes he never entered them into their system. If you are the manager and can’t handle taking and putting an order into your POS/food ordering system, you fail as a manager. Further, he read back EVERYTHING to each of us when we ordered. After well over an hour, my seared tuna comes out. It’s nearly cooked through and it’s room temperature. I look at it and I brought back the plate right to him. When the manager/waiter/non-order taker saw the salad, he pressed his finger into the tuna in front of me… I don’t know about you but I’d never do that in front of a guest-and there’s nothing you can learn about the doneness of that fish that your eyes couldn’t tell you… When I ordered the seared-tuna salad, he made a point of saying it comes out RED in the center-and that it was only seared on the edges. I said to him that I want it that way. I want it black and blue” and still flopping if possible-as rare and red as they can make it. But this was pink and nearly white in the picture. I mentioned above, he read the order back to me. Besides it being way overcooked it was cut incorrectly(again, see the photo). Someone with NO knife skills butchered(in the worst way) that tuna. Stringy bits and spots where it was torn are clear. Needs new management. Needs new staff in general. Poorly, poorly run restaurant. Completely avoid-there’s a trend I see in these reviews. We «dined» Sunday, January 25 from 12−2PM. NB: To add insult to injury(or other way around), I became physically ill about an hour after eating there… avoid…
