I’ve been to a few other Bubba Gumps but this one is just OK. I would of rather gone somewhere else. It does have a fun view from the deck but the food is just Average. The server was great but I went there for the food. The signature drinks are very over priced.

Due to past reviews i was skeptical to come here again but im glad i did. I like the diversity of employees this place has and the attention they give you, it took a while to get seated and all but i didn’t mind. The food was good, i ordered coconut shrimp with fries, don’t remember what the plate was called but it was yummy. Sitting outside on the 2nd floor it was so peaceful for good conversation, will continue to come here. Oh the prices are similar to those from olive garden, like $ 18-$ 20 a plate.

Last time we ate here we had a wonderful experience with great food. However, this time our service was awful from the time we stepped inside the door. We were treated rudely, had to keep asking for someone to wait on our table, two of our plates were forgotten and the two guests had to wait 15 minutes longer for their food. Then, we had to ask for the manager to take the items off our check as this wasn’t offered. The food was mediocre at best. We do not plan to return.

I went recently to the restaurant and… I am not coming back. The food was average. No special taste to remember. I had to add some salt to my salmon to finally add some flavor. We were seated in a place were there was water dripping from the ceiling. My shoes got wet. The only good thing about the place is the view.

Loved the trio shrimp dish. Super delicious! Husband and I was able to split it between one another. The lemon up drinks were kinda gross though.

We had a quick lunch there. We’ve never eaten there before so we thought we would try. I had a shrimp po boy, my wife had a burger. We shared the Cajun peel n eat shrimp appetizer. Sandwiches were ok, the app was awesome! The seasoning they put on it was delicious. Shrimp were a little on the small side but, not tiny. Touristy spot like we expected but, still cool non the less.

So disappointed ! Shrimp should not be in this restaurants name at all. The shrimp we ordered tasted like it came from a frozen bag at SAMs club . We also ordered peel and eat shrimp that looked more like crawfish than shrimp. They were incredibly small and extremely pricey. Really sad especially when it’s right on the gulf ! It’s more of a tourist attraction than an actual seafood restaurant. They market their souvenirs more than they do their food. If you want good seafood try Landrys.

Dining in Galveston, I went to many places, Bubba Gumps was on the list. This review is going to be tricky as I really tried to make the best of this. Service was out of the Keystone Cops. I do not know what happened or if they hired a bunch of new folks for the upcoming holiday weekend, but it was just barely tolerable. The table next to us ended up getting our food and us theirs. The meals were so pieced together that parts of ours went over there and so on. The drinks we ordered were supposed to include the glass as a souvenir, and when asked about it the server told us they would have to send them to us or some such nonsense. I chatted up the two young ladies at the other table just so I could get a clue what they ordered vs. us. It would have been easy to be upset, but that would get us nowhere. The food was not noteworthy, and the prices were higher than what they should have been for what it was. I hate to make this comparison, but I would rate this much like Red Lobster only much more expensive and really haphazard service. The shop downstairs has many items for the tourists. Had the service not been such an issue, I think that this would have been a nice tourist experience. I would like to try this again when and if they get their act together. –Best

Bubba Gump is always a great choice for good seafood. This location isn’t any different. Enjoyed the calming sea breeze in their outside patio. Only downside is that this location is very busy.

Big olé meh. The location is good and there was no wait beyond that… They have overpriced shrimp and bad service. Drinks are 9+ dollars a piece, entrees are 15+… Save your self some time and money and eat local. :)

The hours listed is incorrect. What is worse is we called ahead to make sure that it would be open because of another review. They assured us that it would still be open at 11pm. We arrived at 10 to find out that they had closed. The manager apologized but we had already driven way out of our way and had to find somewhere to eat. I don’t know if the food at this location is good because we couldn’t eat here.

We got the gulf shrimp catch and the Mac and cheese. The shrimp were okay but the Mac and it was comparable to Kraft in a bad way. It was 13.99 and the quality was that of a .99 boxed Mac and cheese. I would have given the place another star or two if it wasn’t for the awful service. We arrived at 1030 on a Saturday when they are open till midnight, and the entire time we have been sitting here, we have been completely ignore by the 4 members of the bar staff. They are very un-attentive. We have watched for over an hour as 4 bartenders are closing up the bar and not one of them has asked us if we wanted a drink or food or silverware or water or a check. They were so focused on closing, my boyfriend had to demand their attention for EVERYTHING. My drink has been empty for an hour. I’m literally just shocked right now. I expected a lot better service from a Fertitta owned establishment. We will never be back to this one and are hesitant to visit any more Landry’s owned restaurants in the future. Just Sad.

My family and I visited Galveston for the first time last week. After a disappointing experience with a local seafood place, we decided to try Bubba Gump, figuring they were all the same and great. We are from Chicago and New Orleans, we know seafood. The Bubba Gump in Mexico is fantastic as well. Our server was very nice but the food was terrible and way over priced. $ 87 for 3 meals and no alcohol. Bubba Gump is located ONTHEOCEAN how do you not have amazing shrimp and seafood? It was tiny tasteless baby shrimp with questionable shells. There were shrimp boats outside our rented house in the morning — shrimp in Galveston should be a sure thing… no?

Food was all tasty and great, but definitely not big enough for the prices you pay. Good service. This was our first time here so wasn’t sure what to expect. The whole theme of the restaurant is very fun, especially if you enjoy the Forrest Gump movie. Also thought the«Run Forrest Run /Stop Forrest Stop» idea was cute… and quicker than I thought it’d be! The moment I turned the sign to «Stop Forrest Stop», a manager came by in literally a second! We ordered the shrimp scampi, Jenny’s Catch(with rice substituted instead of mashed potatoes), and Accidental Fish and Shrimp. Every plate eaten and left clean.

Hotel is across the street and thought I’d pop on over. Never been to this Bubba Gump but have been to others. I had the shrimp New Orleans and loved it. My daughter had the ribs.(Kid meal) I tried to get a picture but she started eating way too quickly. Fun place can’t wait for one in San Antonio

I definitely understand why this location has 2 ½ stars because the last time I came here(about a year ago) it was a pretty bad experience. I don’t remember how the service was, but the place was dirty, wet, and sticky, and the food was subpar. I really didn’t want to come back, but my family insisted on it. We came on a Monday around 12pm and it was so crazily dead inside all the workers were just standing at every corner greeting us as we walked in. It reminded me of the Be Our Guest scene in Beauty & The Beast(lol). Our server was super cute, fun, and helpful and kept checking up on us even when our sign wasn’t signaling him to stop. The place was also really clean, which I suppose is because there were hardly any customers. They just need to figure out how to keep it up to par when they have a crowd. I only give 3 stars because the food is still just okay. Nothing great here whatsoever, and the prices are entirely too high for the food you receive. But I guess that has to do with the novelty of the place. If I’m dragged back here again, I’ll survive, but this remains my least favorite Bubba Gump location.
