Ayalas Mex-American Steakhouse

Came here for a round of drinks and a guac appetizer during a girls weekend. They have a cute patio but the tables were small and chairs uncomfy. We were the only patrons at 7pm on a Monday. Margs were pretty decent and the guac presentation was nice. Huge leafy pieces of cilantro which I was not a huge fan of. Decided not to stay for dinner and it seemed to take an inordinate amount of time to run our credit cards. Decent place overall

This is a Great place to stop in and enjoy a nice Cold Méxican beer with your favorite Mexican food … Fajitas… Tacos… cowboy ribeye… Rice /​beans… Great ambience… Always happy people. And don’t forget your dessert… Best in town… Thank you guys… The waiter Marcos!!! great great service … Will be back!

Just being honest here… walked in this place on a Saturday night, we were the only people eating here. Okay, so our waiter tells us they have a tilapia special — when my husband asked about it the waiter ran back into the kitchen and apparently it’s not tilapia. No big deal, he orders carnitas and I order a steak burrito. It is a steak place right? Steak burrito was a pile of rice beans and the cheapest, fattiest steak I’ve ever had. Afterwards, asked for the bathroom down an unlit halway… not expecting customers I guess, they turned the lights on after I left. Meanwhile, the men at the bar made sure to look me up and down while my husband went to the restroom. No thanks. Did I forget to mention that they asked if we could pay in cash because «the credit card machine wasn’t working» and would give us 10% off and then didn’t when we complied? Wtf Galena, people must be okay with shit food in this town.

The tacos are great… fresh and affordable. Tender meat with cilantro and onion. authentic corn torillas. Chef Juan knows his trade.

If you’re looking for typical Americanized Tex-Mex…this is not your place. If you like authentic Mexican then I highly recommend Ayalas! The paella is awesome, the tacos are great and the service is very good and very personal.

The guac was okay at best. The chicken was closer to scallops than chicken and the cheese was gross. The beef fajitas could have been just about any animal plus broccoli, weird. Based on the 5 star review, we gave it a try and were extremely disappointed. It wasn’t even edible and over priced. A complete waste of money.

Fantastic and great people! The Guac is fantastic. Don’t miss the burrito and cowboy ribeye, the mole is excellent! Definitely will be back!
