New China Buffet

My husband, brother and I decided we wanted Chinese food so we went to Galax since it was the closest town near where we live in Troutdale. Very bad service and food. So greasy and salty. Will not go back.

One star isn’t a fair rating for this restaurant. We have been coming here since it opened. The family that runs this store is very friendly and welcoming. They work very hard. The buffet has a good variety. My favorites are the chicken and broccoli and the pan grilled chicken. The cheese wontons are delicious. I also love the chicken skewers. My kids love eating here. Kids are free on weeknights. I’ve never been that the selection on the buffet wasn’t full and I’m sure they would make you more of something if there was a specific item you wanted. They’ve recently painted and aside from a few things just being worn down with use, this is an acceptably clean restaurant. I’ve always had good meals here. I’m glad we have this restaurant in our community to add variety to our choices.

My wife and I have been eating at this restaurant for years. Like all Chinese restaurants, you don’t Chinese buffet during certain times of the day. So, at 5pm on a Friday you would expect the buffet to be fresh. This was not the case. The food quality was the worst. Even as more people enter the restaurant did not bring in fresh dishes. Two buffets and two ice waters cost $ 20.28. Tax included. Never going back again.
