Great attentive service and food was fantastic. Thank you Reiko you made our visit extremely pleasant.

I read the reviews before coming here so I was wary that it might not be the best. Bang Bang shrimp is pretty good. Not sure if it lives up to the hype(it’s essentially deep fried shrimp in chipotle mayo), but it’s not bad. Entrée for me was shrimp and scallops, with sweet potato mash and sautéed spinach. The shrimp and scallops were great, and our server recommended the accompanying sauces, which were also great. Sides were good too, nothing to write home about. I will say this; its a bit pricy for what it is. You can find delicious seafood for under $ 25 an entrée… Would I go back? Probably. If someone else was paying, or I had a coupon.

The Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer is amazing! The only place I’ve had better Bang Bang Shrimp is from Harpoon Hanna’s in Ocean City, and that’s Ocean City, so you kind of expect them to do shrimp right in all sorts of ways(and Bubba-Gump, lol). The female bartender with the brown hair(I can’t remember her name) is friendly. She made me one of the best rum and Cokes I’ve had, plus the mango sidecar is delicious. My friend tried the margarita and said it was decent. The bread is really good. I wasn’t a big fan of their options for happy hour but I’ll probably come back and explore them a little more. I’ll also have to try the entrees!

Came here after church on mothers day with reservations for 2 with my wife. This place was packed. We decided to eat at the bar instead of having to wait to be seated. The bartenders were super busy because of the bottomless mimosas during brunch. That being said we started with the bang bang shrimp appetizers which were really awesome. It was essentially batter fried shrimp with big Mac special sauce over lettuce. I had ordered the eggs benedict with bottomless mimosas. They unfortunately were out of the peach, but the passion fruit mimosas were delicious. Sipping on the mimosas helped pass the time as we waited for our food. My eggs benedict was good. It was a traditional egg benedict with ham, perfectly cooked egg, English muffin, with a nice hollandaise sauce. My wife got the surf and turf eggs benedict which left much to be desired. Instead of ham, their was lobster and steak, but it was dry and not well seasoned. I ordered to go an Atlantic salmon with pan Asian sauce for my mom who unfortunately was working on mothers day. But definitely, good food at this restaurant. The bartenders provided good service despite how busy they were.

This is a review for their happy hour. I called ahead and asked if there is a happy hour and the guy said yes. When we show up at the restaurant, the server says there is no menu for happy hour. She gives some vague explanation, «oh, there are 4 well drinks for $X and 4 mix drinks for $X.» I then ask her for the names of the mix and well drinks on HH special and she has no clue. I name a random drink(since there is no menu) — she then tries to go look it up on the computer and then it’s a different price than what she mentioned earlier. Also, they have no food specials for HH. RESTAURANTMANAGER — PRINT A MENUFORYOURHAPPYHOUR so that your patrons don’t have to guess. All the other restaurants in the DC area does!

The atmosphere is casual, the food can be healthy(calories are clearly listed on the menu), and the choices are limited but very good. The drinks are good, wine selections are adequate but what brings the rating down are the not-so-wonderful dessert choices(even though the ones they have are appetizing) and the service staff, which is for the most part short staffed and stressed out. As a foodie it becomes difficult to rate it because this is a run of the mill restaurant, but still it is a local favorite and frugal diners love it. Their bang bang shrimp is excellent.

Dinner was delicious! My daughter got fish and chips. My husband got the tuna. I had a filet mignon. Everything was cooked perfectly and at the correct temperature. The only thing I would have liked better, and it’s not worth knocking it down a star, is if the Caesar salad was at a higher standard as the rest of dinner. What I mean is that all the leaves were very light green. No dark romaine leaves. I even asked for a darker salad and they didn’t have it. Yikes. Our waitress was on the ball and kept refilling drinks before I had to ask. Well trained wait staff.

So for Valentine’s Day, I caught a lucky break and got out of work way earlier than I was expected. Unluckily, we hadn’t made any reservations thinking I was going to be stuck all day, so we decided to try our luck at the Bonefish Grill in the middle of the afternoon. Surprisingly, it was packed, but we only had to wait 10 min for a table. As my fiancé pointed out, in addition to being super helpful and nice, the staff was comprised of unusually good looking people of all ages. We were shown to our table and then our waiter quickly brought over drinks and menus. He was very good, attentive and very thorough in his descriptions. We tried the following things. Bang Bang Shrimp 3⁄5: This was a massive portion size leading to an impressive display, which normally, I am all about. However, this was just too overly creamy for me. Two bites and I’d had enough. It tastes like shrimp tempura smothered by spicy mayo. Ok for a taste, but I wouldn’t get it again. Stuffed shrimp and Filet Mignon 3⁄5: The steak was cooked really well with a great marsala sauce, but I really did not enjoy the shrimp. The crab filling was dry and the creamy spinach it was accompanied by was again, too creamy. Grilled chilean sea bass with lemon, tomato garlic sauce 5⁄5: This was phenomenal. The fish was grilled perfectly with just the right amount of char. The sauce was light but, SO flavorful. The mashed potatoes were excellent as well. Overall, I was happy we went because the sea bass was so good, but I probably would try a new place before going back here.

I am writing on my parent’s behalf(they do not have Unilocal acct’s nor are very tech savy). ;) My Mom & Dad came to Bonefish Grill for their 46th wedding anniversary dinner back on Dec. 13th. When they got home they had nothing but great comments: — I noted«anniversary» in their online reservation, and the wait staff knew it was their anniversary and were very friendly. — The waitress was very kind and brought all of their drinks and food in a timely manner. — My Mom got the crab cakes and my dad got the fish & chips and said they both were very good. — At the end of their meal the Manager came over and wished them a happy anniversary and gave them complimentary dessert, coffee and a glass of champagne. Thank you for making my parent’s anniversary dinner a special one.

I had a wonderful experience here! The food is cooked very well and is quite tasty! I had calamari for appetizer — was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with a creamy dipping sauce on the side. My entrée was steak — cooked medium-well, super soft! I was impressed. One side I had was garlic-seasoned mashed potatoes — well seasoned! Second side I had was jasmine rice — a bit dry but bearable for the most part. The atmosphere wasn’t too noisy and the waiter was very helpful in helping choose wine as well as friendly and engaging in light conversation. The only thing that bothered me a little is how crowded it was. Waiting to be seated was a little uncomfortable, standing closely between the entrance, people dining, and others waiting to be seated as well. Luckily we reserved ahead of time, so the wait was not too long! Would recommend.

Went here while I was visiting family over the holidays. It’s your typical suburban chain restaurant, although slightly more upscale. The seafood equivalent of a Macaroni Grill or something. It was insanely crowded when we arrived. Even with a reservation, we got one of those pagers and waited at least 20 minutes. We ordered the Bang Bang shrimp and the calamari to start. The shrimp was really good. They were lightly battered and coated with a creamy, slightly spicy mayo sauce. The calamari were pretty standard, battered and served with a side of sauce, but tasty nonetheless. For my main, I ordered the Pecan Parmesan Crusted Rainbow Trout with Artichokes and Lemon Butter(now there’s a mouthful to say aloud). For my side I choose potato au gratin and the vegetable that day was spaghetti squash. The portions are quite huge here. The trout was a huge portion, and the breading made the fish probably less healthy, but whatever, it tasted good. The accompanying spaghetti squash was a little overcooked and had a weird sweet taste but I enjoyed it anyway. The potatoes were not really gratin, as they were more like square chunks of potato in a cheese sauce(very reminiscent of mac n’ cheese). All in all though, a decent meal, and even better since I wasn’t the one paying.

3 stars for food, I have to agree that the service here is below standard. The hostesses are not warm and greet who they want to greet. I have been here plenty of times but never bother to check in. I have placed many to go orders as we’ll. Usually i come on Wednesdays for their bang shrimp special, as do everybody else, I don’t get why the forgetting of the bread is becoming a trend. I love their dipping sauces as the bread holds me down till my food come because it does take a while even on a non busy night. Wait service takes for ever! From taking your drink order to getting your credit card back! As well as checking back on your meals or doing refills. Food: The food here is delicious. The bang shrimp is only good when crispy not soggy. If it’s soggy send it back, the tilapia imperial is cooked to perfection as well as the Chilean sea bass with that mango salsa. The portions here run small. It could be mistaken for like tapas, in some cases. dessert The coconut pie is so delish and the macadamia brownie is only good when you eat it in the restaurant, I ordered it to go and it was a disaster.

Bone bone bone bone… bone… bone… bone… bone… bone… we went to this Bonefish. It was a Wednesday night, that means Bang-Bang night. The wait for ook, it was décor about the same. We all got some variant of that Bang Bang Shrimp and wish that we could have them… everyday, everyday~ It comes in Burger, Tacos, or a bowl of it. The bowl will get you the most shrimps, while taco was just ok was like an enhanced shrimp taco, and burger style was probably my less favorite version as the meat was a bit heavy in flavor. Taking the wrong turn at a crossroad could lead to a bad meal depending on what you order, most of their other stuff had been«meh» or just«ok». Aside from the bang bang, they do have a decent beer selection. Pricewise seems fair when compared with other national chains that serve seafood.

I’m so conflicted! I’ve had a couple more pleasant meals here but I still have trouble highly recommending it. Is there an alternative to Unilocal’s vegetarians this place? Vegetarians beware. I know, I know… don’t go to a seafood restaurant or a steakhouse if you are vegetarian. I get it. But what happens when the rest of your family loves seafood and you are the lone vegetarian? At Bonefish — you can eat lettuce and bread. That’s pretty much it. At this point, restaurants should offer at least ONE vegetarian dish(fries and/or a side of Mac and cheese don’t really count either). I don’t think that’s unreasonable. The salad and bread is quite delicious, but not really what one might consider a meal. Still, food is well presented and rather good. Although they did discontinue their bar bites menu(which was fun) and they ran out of donuts by the time we ordered them(before 7 pm!) which was disappointing.

Bonefish Grill is located in Kentlands near the Red Door Spa. It’s a popular place to go for lunch. In the bar area, there are a few tv’s, bar seating, and high top tables — perfect for corporate happy hour, watching sports, or grabbing bar bites. In the dining room, there are booths and tables. They were playing hit songs from the 1970’s and 1980’s. The restaurant was decorated with lit metal fishes and island sculptures. The service was a bit slow as they have only two servers. Our server Chris was nice, polite, and friendly. Honestly, I love the delicious food but wish the portion size of the entrees were larger. For drinks, my mom and I had Arnold Palmer’s but requested their Honest Raspberry Iced Tea to be blended with their homemade lemonade. It was served over ice and garnished with a fresh raspberry. I liked how it wasn’t sour but it was pretty sweet to me. I was surprised that they didn’t serve bread and butter during the meal. For entrees, I ordered Lily’s Salmon. Since I’m not a big fan of goat cheese, I had the choice of switching to Danish Blue or Feta Cheese. Lily’s Salmon was marinated and grilled with special seasoning, topped with sauteed spinach, feta cheese, artichoke hearts, and garnished with chopped fresh basil, in lemon basil sauce. The salmon was tender and quite flavor. The Lily’s Salmon came with a choice of side — house made french fries, pesto couscous, or coleslaw. I substituted my side for a Bonefish House Salad. The Bonefish House Salad consisted of freshly cut romaine lettuce, hearts of palm, kalamata olives, and grape tomatoes, garnished with pumpkin seeds, and served with citrus herb vinaigrette on the side. My mom ordered the Grilled Fresh Fish of the Day, which was Arctic Char, described as a mix between salmon and trout. The Grilled Arctic Char was marinated and grilled with special seasoning, topped with one of their Signature sauces — Mango Salsa. My mom substituted her side for a Caesar Salad. The Caesar Salad consisted of freshly cut romaine lettuce, garnished with croutons and grated parmesan, and served with garlicky Caesar dressing on the side.

We’ve given Bonefish Grill several opportunities to impress us. I am totally in love with the beef dumplings and bread/oil dip. However that’s as far as it goes for me. Service can be sketchy. Wait times can be significant. Twice I have been overlooked by immature, flustered and arrogant hosts/hostesses who seem to pick and choose who they are overly warm and nice to. Hmmmm. Twice they have forgotten the bread in my takeout order and acted like it was an issue to go and get it. One time during a takeout transaction, the hostess disappeared with my card for almost 10 minutes and couldn’t explain why. The bang bang shrimp was good the first few times but somewhere along the way a sous chef began dousing them in too much of whatever that mayonnaise coating is, leaving it gooey and unappealing instead of crisp. Less is more should be their motto and prices are substantial for the small portions.

3.5 actually. I think the restaurant is great but I ordered a very«healthy» which was meh, hence the meh review. The bang bang shrimp that I began with was divine but it was 1000 calories! The husband wanted to try it so we ordered one and shared. My fish of the day(albacore tuna) came with couscous which I enjoyed and mango salsa. The salsa was a savior since the fish was so dry. Not sure if it was my fault for ordering medium well? Ah well– maybe back but will order a normal entrée!

«Endless Bubbles Brunch» is a good deal. You get a signature entrée, plus all you can drink of three options: Peach Bellini, Mimosa and Blackberry Sangria. Of course, you can try all three drinks and switch it up any way you please. The Peach Bellini and the Sangria are particularly good — sweet and not too heavy. I had the Surf & Turf Benedict, which is basically Eggs Benedict with Steak & Lobster instead of the Canadian Bacon. It could have used a little more meat… but the combination with the eggs and hollandaise sauce was delicious. Bang-Bang Shrimp appetizer is also very good. Always a crowd favorite.
