Amazing service at a great price!!! I have dealt with many businesses when doing work on our house in Gaithersburg and called a couple of tree removal companies before deciding for Bartlett Tree Experts but I have to say, they are THE BEST of the best! Very impressed with their customer service, with the way they answer any questions or concerns you may have about a tree removal and also their prices are awesome. Much better than the other companies we called! We decided on Bartlett because another company in the area was constantly late returning our calls and in general treated us poorly when we called with questions. Also their prices were much higher. The tree in our back yard had to go so I called Bartlett late one evening and left a voice message. By 9am the next day their receptionist called back and we had an appointment for an estimate. She was great! On the day of the appointment a very nice and professional young man, Josh, called me to discuss the tree we wanted removed, any concerns we had about the removal and to suggest an estimate. We decided for a date when they were available and they did a wonderful job removing the tree and cleaning up the area. No hassle, no stress and they always did what they said they would. THANK YOU Bartlett for your outstanding services! I have already recommended you to our friends in the Gaithersburg area and we hope to work with your company again in the future!!!

We have used Bartlett for several years. We just had them remove two large trees and trim several other trees. They did a great job.

Outstanding company. I was worried about two trees in my front yard and wanted some professional input. Emailed an inquiry on a holiday weekend, got a response the first business day morning. Set up an appointment over the phone but received an email confirmation which was so helpful. The arborist showed up exactly at the appointed time and did a thorough assessment of my trees. I feel confident that they can guide me through all the next steps (contacting Pepco if necessary, etc.) and are beyond experts in their field. Many people in my neighborhood have used Bartlett and now I understand why. Highly recommend.

We had a big tree trimming/​thinning job done today at our home, and were very pleased. We were looking for a certified arborist to assess a couple of problems, and Bartlett’s came to our attention. Our arborist, Chris Larkin, made a very thorough inspection, found a number of insect problems we didn’t even know we had, and made a number of suggestions for trimming and thinning of branches to allow more air and light, and hopefully more growth in the Spring! The estimate was broken out tree by tree to allow us to pick and choose what we wanted to do, I thought a nice way of not forcing us into a high-​pressure sales pitch for a big contract (we ended up completing the whole list anyway!). The crew completed the work as specified, removed all the debris, and cleaned up all the work areas. We would recommend.

For anyone searching for a genuine tree care and maintenance company, and just an honest good business in general, my recommendation goes out to Bill Eck and the Bartlett Gaithersburg Office.
I have a medium-​sized tree in my backyard that I have been eyeing to have cut down recently. I searched on Google and Unilocal to find a company to work with and met with and received estimates from 6. All the other companies, besides Bartlett, looked at the tree and the yard, and relatively quickly provided (rather widely varying) estimates for cutting down the tree and grinding out the stump. Bill Eck on the other hand, rather surprisingly, said that the tree was a great feature in the yard and that I should keep it. We had a good discussion on the pros of the tree and the solutions for the cons. It occurred to me somewhere in the conversation that Bill actually likes trees. He is more in the business of providing care and maintenance, and providing solutions to make trees work for the homeowner and the city, than in simply removing and disposing of them. He even sent me a complete email, re-​capping the conversation.
So, hat’s off to Bill and Bartlett. My tree is going to stay. I will contact Bartlett in the fall to reduce the tree’s size and implement the other solutions that will allow the tree to stay in the yard and not out-​grow or disrupt it.

Underwhelming customer service. I hired them in 2011 and paid them a couple thousand bucks to do work. They did a fine job them, but I tried to get a quote for smaller work and they flat out ignore me. The work is probably just under $ 1000, but I find it really poor customer service that I’ve called them, spoken to the receptionist twice and left 2 voicemails and 3 emails with no response — over a month. When I brought this to the receptionist’s attention, she quickly told me all I could do was leave another voicemail and transferred me without another word. I think it’s poor customer service to treat repeat customers this way. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on.
