Let me start out by saying that I worked at this specific Armand’s for a year and a half. You can either read that as good or bad since I can be biased but I also can give y’all the inside scoop. There is one implied lie I’ve read in the reviews that I want to get out of the way: «frozen pizza.» All pizzas, deep dish or thin crust, are made that day. The dough is made that morning(usually no customers in the AM) and put in their previously sanitized pans(believe me, I was the one sanitizing them, and they pass my clean-freak test) in the walk-in fridge to rise. Around 5:00PM, about five to ten deep dish pizzas are prepped. Meaning, we take them out of the fridge, form the crust, add regular sauce, put a light amount of cheese on, and then place them back in the fridge. This prepping is done in case we get slammed with orders(always do in the evenings). We only put light cheese on these prepped pizzas because if a customers orders a deep dish with light cheese, we aren’t spending time picking(and wasting) cheese off, thus negating the entire point of prepping. We add cheese if we’re using a prepped deep dish for any other requests. The point: Yes, they actually do make the pizzas daily. You’ll know when you come in around 9:30PM and they’re all out of medium deep dishes. Onto the delivery issues… People, listen. First of all, if they say 45 — 50 minutes on the phone, why are you baffled/irritated when the order is delivered in 45? Also, these orders are cooked right in the store. It takes about 15 minutes just to COOK a deep dish in the oven, let alone kneading the dough and putting on the condiments. Also, the times I did magically prepare all of my orders before my drivers even returned from the last go-around, but your order can’t poof to your front door because the driver hasn’t come back yet. It isn’t their fault — they want to get back quickly so they can deliver the next orders quicker and get a better tip — but sometimes there is an accident or unexpected traffic that holds them up. So please, go easy on my drivers. The ones I worked with were very sweet people. Side note: The owners are an awesome wife and husband from Sri Lanka who, despite their humorously thick accents, have been citizens of the US for 15+ years, if not more. Even so, they have interesting stories of their home country, and are happily raising their family here. Sadly, I haven’t been back to visit for two years, but they are honestly some of the kindest, warmhearted, and hardworking people I’ve ever met. They were like family to me. If you have a chance when you’re picking up your order, feel free to chat em up a bit. You can ask them if what I’ve stated here is true.

Just wanted to update my review. After 7 years, this is still my favorite Deep Dish pizza in the DMV area. Sadly, I don’t visit Gaithersburg as much anymore so only get to eat it 2 – 3 times a year. I always order carryout and always the same toppings. Green pepper on entire pizza, with half of it Pepperoni since my GF is vegetarian. However, we do not like the pineapples from here as they taste weird. Tried 2 different times. We order Papa Johns if we want pineapple where they are nice and sweet. Excellent customer service consistently over the years as well!

Use to love this place for carry out. But when they made me the wrong Pizza they refused to make me another. Will never order from there again. Plus it wasn’t as good as the Rockville location.

I’ve been going to Armand’s for 20 years. Delicious, authentic pizza. Take out, and delivery only though so plan accordingly.

Order taker was nice and polite/professional, pizza arrived in the expected time window. Pizza was below average, crust was not very thick and really dry, toppings cheese and sauce were OK, not great. The crust was really this pizza’s big downfall, it didn’t even seem like a deep dish dough was used for the crust. I won’t be ordering from them again.

We order from Armand’s often and also receive coupons via email which are almost always used. The food is delicious and well prepared. We’ve only had one mistake in the past 10 or so orders, which they did fix! The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is for their delivery. I’m 8 months pregnant, I’d rather not travel put to grab food. Delivery is easiest for me currently. Their delivery times state«45 minutes» and boy oh boy do they stick by that! I swear, they must drive to my house and wait until 44 minutes to walk up to the door… It has never been less than a 40 minute wait and no more than 50 for the delivery… We live less than 5 miles away. I do wish they would change their delivery time schedule… I understand things being busy and what not, however it’s Wednesday at 9:30. Ya’ll are slammed??!

I’m very sad and very hungry as I write this review. I’ve tried seamless in new york and its always been great. I hate it when businesses make excuses like we cancelled your order. I ordered a chicago deep dish pizza at 7:30 from this restaurant and got a confirmation email saying I would receive it within 30 – 45 minutes. I waited till 8:30 to call because I didn’t want to rush the restaurant big mistake on my half. They cancelled my order and never contacted me or message me. They«claimed the emailed seamless to cancel my order» I don’t care what they claim. The facts are simple they have my phone number so they should have called me to tell me my orders cancelled. Its now 9pm and I’m very hungry now and I need to find an alternative solution for dinner. so much for 45 minute to get my pizza. I’m very upset and very hungry. I called seamless and they said they never received anything from armands about my cancelled order. This business clearly doesn’t take business seriously. They don’t take their customers seriously either when I called in about my missing order the person who picked up(most likely the owner because this is a small franchised business) didn’t even offer to take my order after they supposedly cancelled it. They clearly don’t want to make money. didn’t even try to salvage a customer. Great business model

This pizza is one of the better ones in the area. I can’t say its the best of all time… but when you need pizza and don’t feel like driving, they are great! The have delivery so just look up the menu and voilà and 45−50mins your pizza or whatever you ordered will be at yr door! The service is friendly and so far they have always gotten the order right. And on time! Also they do have thin crust and deep dish and tons of toppings to choose from. So be creative! Although I did that once… and well, I stick to more conventional choices…

One of the best deep dish I have had. Really good sauce to topping ratio. We went to the takeout one in gaithersberg. Really enjoyed it, large pizza lives up to it’s name. Yummy pizza, if you like deep dish it’s for you.

You can’t really beat their 10.99 $ any pizza up to 5 toppings deal(Monday and Tuesdays only). Only catch is the delivery minimum is 11 $, so you’re basically left a penny shy of an Awesome deal. The first few times I ordered, the pizza was really terrific– sauce and cheese are great, deep dish dough is just fine. The last time I ordered though, something just wasn’t the same. Sucks that the pizza isn’t consistently great. Still worth a Mon/tues night try though.

Unlike the original Armand’s in DC, this is strictly a takeout place, and the quality is lower. They do deep dish pizza mainly but do offer thin crust. It’s pretty deep and pretty heavy pizza that definitely satisfies a craving; I doubt it’s up to Chicago standards though. Still, this area is sadly bereft of pizza, and this place offers enough deals and coupons to make it worthwhile. They do, like all Armand’s, have some of the best garlic bread I’ve ever found.

My girlfriend and I aren’t sure if we’re just spoiled when it comes to pizza and wings as we just moved here from NY, or if all the pizza in Maryland is the same, but we can’t find good pizza and wings to save our life. Armand’s was another miss. We ordered one of their deep dish pizzas for lunch one day at work, and it was ok. Not great, but not the worst we’ve ever had. So we decided to give them another try last week. Mistake. We ordered one of their combo specials, a thin crust pizza and 12 wings. We were told it’d be 45 minutes for delivery, and an hour and a half later we still didn’t have our food. After the delivery guy finally showed up, we were disappointed with what we were left with. The pizza was horrible. It didn’t look, nor taste, like it was hand made or fresh. Looked like it was a pre made frozen pizza, and tasted exactly like elementary school lunch pizza. Which was kinda cool for nostalgia the first slice, but sucked by the end when it hit me I’d paid $ 20 not including tip for it. The wings were some of the worst I’ve ever had. They were completely flavorless, and were char grilled, which wasn’t advertised, but that seems to be the norm in Maryland. I’m used to real, deep fried buffalo wings, and the unadvertised char grilled wings were a huge disappointment. Putting aside the disappointment of expecting fried and getting char grilled, they were still disgusting. They all seemed to be only grilled on one side, while the rest of the wing had slimy, disgusting skin hanging off. Needless to say, they got thrown away. Won’t be giving them another try.

I’ve never dined in the restaurant but rather always ordered delivery, so it might be affecting the quality of food a bit. The pizza is really good but the appetizers are a little hit or miss. The pizza is good. I wouldn’t exactly call it «Chicago deep dish» pizza but rather more like a deep pan pizza. The sauce has really good flavor, the cheese and toppings and plentiful and the texture of the crust is good. I have to knock off some points for the wings though. I ordered them barbecue style and was very disappointed. The wings were tiny and rubbery and just really not very good. I’ve also ordered the mozerella sticks and while they’re edible the cheese isn’t really gooey like it should be; they almost seem like maybe they are prepared well in advance and perhaps frozen. If I was rating on pizza alone I might go 4 or even 5 stars on this but the appetizers drag them down.
