Okay, after dealing with every bike shop in Gainesville, swift is hands down my favorite. There is one other REALLY good shop staffed by awesome people, but swift tends to carry more of what I’m looking for. They also are very welcoming and host a variety of road rides including a Friday social/​coffee ride that is very relaxed and catered to beginners/​conversations. They are also very eager to talk bikes and routes and are never pushy or rude. The shop has a very cozy feel to it and is small, but laid out very nicely. Coming from a retail background, I appreciate the time they put into their clothing display by the work area:) the location is nice, but parking can be a bit scarce by the entrance on busy days, but then again, if your a bike rider you shouldn’t mind walking a few feet;) Parking can be poached across the street or a few blocks away if you look for it.

We stumbled on Swift Cycles on our way to another bike shop for a tune-​up and decided to save ourselves a trip. I wound up going back to them after buying a Schwinn Mesa on Craigslist that needed a little love. The guys had my bike ready the next day, including snipping off the crazy glow stick bracelets the previous owner had put all over it (for safety? for a street rave? one can only wonder). They only did the necessary repairs that we had discussed and didn’t try to convince me to get services I didn’t need, but told me to keep an eye on certain things after a few more months. Since I know very little about bikes, I really appreciated their expertise.
I will definitely return to Swift Cycle for my future bike needs and would highly recommend it to others.

The facilities were clean and comfortable, and the staff was laid back, accommodating and very nice. They didn’t hesitate to put air in my tires and reinstall the dismounted wheels, though I had only come in expecting to pay for some air and to buy a very low-​end bike lock. The price was a few bucks above Amazon for the lock, but any store with a physical presence and people that help you can’t possibly be as cheap as Amazon, so I consider the price I paid to be pretty good.
I’d recommend them highly. I’ve used other bike shops in Gainesville and paid for services Swift did for free, and then paid more over Amazon for items at those shops. More, the staff was accommodating and friendly, and there’s also some snacks, drinks, and reading materials (books etc.) if you want to hang out and hone your bike knowledge.

This place is very clean and open compared to the other bike stores in Gainesville. Their specialities look to be road bikes (specifically commuter) and mountain bikes. They fit my needs wonderfully seeing as I needed a high-​ish end commuter bike for all-​around travel. I looked up the prices for the Breezer Downtown EX online and this store is competitively priced (plus a lifetime of service with bike purchase!). Also it is the only store I found in Gainesville to carry more «mainstream» (I’m not sure if that’s the right word because I’m not a bike nut!), well-​known/​rated, and affordable (my price range was about $ 600 for a bike, lock, and lights) brands and that made me feel comfortable.
Keith had my bike ready in less than a week, as promised! I’ll update a month from now seeing as that is when I’m due for a tune-​up. So far I am very happy with my purchase and am glad I found Swift Cycle in my search for a good bike.
