Not a great first impression. I went last night with my family for dinner. I was looking forward to eating there as I’ve heard/read good things about their food. When we arrived, there were several empty tables both inside and out. We told the hostess that we didn’t have a preference as to where we sat, but she told us it was a 15 minute wait. Maybe they were understaffed or had the tables reserved, but there wasn’t hardly any traffic coming in to the restaurant aside from folks making their way over to the bar. No big deal. We decided to wait. While waiting, my wife decided to take my daughter to the restroom. A few minutes passed, and when they came out my wife had a repulsed look on her face. Turns out, the floor was soaking wet with water and my daughter slipped and fell. On top of it all, someone had a wee bit too much to drink and puked everywhere in the bathroom… just absolutely disgusting. We informed the hostess of the condition of the ladies bathroom, she just said«ok» and left it at that. She never asked if our daughter was OK or apologized for the state of their restroom. At that point, we decided to leave and go elsewhere to eat. Too many little things added up to us just not being comfortable spending any money at Grafton Street for that night. Like I said, it wasn’t a great first impression, however I’m not opposed to going back and giving them another try. Hopefully we’ll have a better experience.

Great staff. Great service. Food quality and selection is excellent across the board. I love getting oysters for happy hour, when they are in season. Also love the double down bbq habanero wings. And its always a treat to get prime rib on Friday nights. Great selection of craft beers and also wine. Love the outdoor patio seating as well. Again, great staff and great food make for a great place to eat or just grab a drink.

Very good food and have tried several different menu items. Sometimes the service is a little slow. Portions are large and well prepared. Nice variety of beer.

I’ve been here a handful of times and I always have a good experience. The food is so good. Bar service is friendly and attentive. And I love the pub vibe! I highly recommend dining here. You won’t be dissapointed.

Came here on a business trip. I most say I loved the atmosphere and enjoyed a well poured Guinness. Had a Jameson Burger which was a good choice. Glad I came here and will more than likely be here again one more time before I leave.

Food was very good but expensive, service was really slow even though it wasn’t busy at all(there were 2 other tables in the dining room, it was 2:45). We would have had more drinks if our server had come around. Also, she said she was bringing zucchini bread but never did. Overall it was okay, I plan to check out other places before coming back.

Can you give a local restaurant zero stars? I normally avoid chains… but this is crazy. Wonderful independent reaturant alternatives in Gainsville. Avoid this place! Attended a group event. Ordered Sunday lobster special. When it arrived side was misplaced. Other member of party started eating simular/my order before server noticed error. Instead of bringing the correct side, they asked me to slide my side onto a plate and exchanged it with the side of the other patrion who had begun to dine. REALLY? Talked to manager… no consideration… thus no future patronage. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID… Unless you enjoy other people’s seconds.

I am writing this review while waiting… Again. for the waitress who has been extremely slow for the whole meal. First off this place is just weird. It’s like walking into a strip mall when you first walk in. 3 different seating areas closed off. From the entrance with no one standing at the podium to let you know what the f word your supposed to do? The décor is a cross between rustic and pretentious(figure that one out). Food overpriced but over all good with a small selection of both food and beer. Overall not impressed.

The folks at Grafton Street Pub in Gainesville, Virginia were fine. The hostess, our waitress and the servers were both pleasant and inviting. Our food looked so appetizing and delicious! My prime rib, which should have been medium rare, was a bit over cooked, closer to medium, but still tasted great. The rib eye steaks were enjoyable, and the burgers were the best we’ve ever tasted. I would definitely return to this place again. There were seven of us Grubbing Gurus checking out the Pub. We brought with us to this place seven completely different palates, six preferences of menu selections and seven opinions, and we all agreed that this was a really nice experience. After reviewing their seemingly tasty brunch offerings, I think we’ll try that next.

Love this place. If you love Prime Rib, give Grafton a shot, this place makes it well. They have specials every night of the week and a weekend brunch we will certainly try to make in the near future. We have always sat in the bar area, so I can’t comment on the restaurant area. The bar has above average service, in fact I’d rank it way above average. The staff is friendly and seem to truly care about your experience.

Went here today for Easter buffet brunch. It was reservations only so was glad my sister made ours early. We had a party of 9 and were sat in the back area behind the barn doors which I really enjoyed because that area gets a lot of light. The service was great and all beverages like orange juice, soft drinks and coffee were included. I thought everything was nicely done, from the carving station to the salads and I especially liked the individual berry cups. The sweet treats station was also very good. Some of the treats were cut up in bite sized portions which was perfect for trying many items. I also enjoyed the salmon, chicken, and the salads with goat cheese. It was all so plentiful I wished I had room for more because it all tasted so good.

I went here for brunch a few times and there was even consistency each time. The décor and atmosphere is like that of a typical pub, which I really like. They have options for«almost» bottomless bellinis and mimosas for $ 3 with a purchase of an entrée. I love their lemon-blueberry pancakes(why have I never heard of this combo before!!!) which were absolutely scrumptious, and their bananas foster French toast. There is a kids menu with a nice amount of delicious options, as well as, gluten free options. I highly recommend this place for families that want yummy options in a nice atmosphere for a decent price!

I have been several times. They have a limited menu and prices are higher than I think they should be. I won’t be back, a lot of great restaurants nearby like Firebirds or even Famous Daves across the walk.

I was really looking forward to this Brunch at Grafton Street, unfortunately it wasn’t as great as expected. Our waitress was quick to get our drinks and while I loved the bloody Mary bar, I think there are too many kinds of hot sauce and no guide or information about them. It was almost a hit or miss when selecting a sauce. Also, the coffee my wife went cold pretty soon after it was poured. The waffle and omelet stations were nice, however I felt there could be more toppings for the waffles. Our waitress wasn’t as attentive after the initial greeting and I felt the overall price for Brunch was too much. I would encourage you to try it once and then draw your own conclusions. I don’t think I would come back for another brunch.

I have a 78 year old friend who eats out three times a day, We meet every other Sunday somewhere mostly for brunch. I like to get him to go to different places since he always goes to iHop and some neighborhood Italian place. Decided to try this place, although Gainesville, VA is not what I would consider a destination spot. I usually avoid it because its a super crowded area and to me it just feels contrived. Anyway, I called at 1000 to make a reservation. Plenty of low stress parking. Got in the restaurant right at 1200. Mentioned the reservation, The hostess asked if we could go back to the bar. Hmmm. The hostess for the bar area seated us immediately at some large high top near a big cold window(you see where this is going, right?). My friend has an affinity for Bloody Mary’s and it seems to be their«thing» since there is a bar where you can make your own. I was in the mood for a beer and told him what I liked and he brought one that would have tasted good if it wasn’t flat. I asked to replace is with a Bloody Mary which was really good. I was looking forward to a «Cobb» salad that earned a review here and didn’t see it on the menu so asked the server and he said there was something called a «Black and Blue» but that was on the dinner menu. Hmm again. He said he could get one made so we waited a good ten minutes and he never came back. Finally when he did we said skip it. My friend ordered Eggs Benedict Classic and I ordered a quesadilla under the«More Eggs». The meals came out pretty quickly, but I was surprised at my dish. It literally was one flour tortilla folder over. I did not see any eggs. This dish was $ 13. There was about a half a palm full of nice tasting homemade pico and that was it. There was quite a bit of chorizo but I swear I did not see any scrambled eggs. And no avocado strips, which when asked, the server brought. So. undeterred we decided to have desert and I switched to an Irish Coffee. The coffee came out immediately and was one of the best Irish coffees I have had in the last two years. The apple pie crisp did not come out until about 5 minutes later– and brought out by the manager. It was also amazing! The tab came to $ 62– which was way too much for the amount of food served(Oh, btw, my friend said his meal was good), but once again it was served only with potatoes, no toast, no fruit… Final verdict? I would not go back to this place. It also seems to be more of a drinking hang out for people, and I guess I could give them break because it was super busy and it was Super Bowl Sunday. But I won’t. I made a reservation and for the price they should have honored it and their service needs to be commensurate with the expensive prices. You’re better off going to one of other 20 ubiquitous chain restaurants located there for a better experience.

It’s hard to mess up a salad, right? But why is it that whenever I go home, buy the ingredients, even a mezzaluna, and the best salad dressing, I don’t even come close to the deliciousness of their Cobb salad. The orchestration of chunks of salty bacon, hard boiled eggs, fresh, crunchy lettuce, slabs of avocado and a mystery dressing create a mélange of yummy bitefuls that will leave your tastebuds singing. Someone else ordered the fish and chips, light and hearty, and another ordered the mouthwatering, picture perfect bacon cheeseburger and fries. And one less hungry ordered a bowl of soup. I wish I could comment on the tastes of those, but I was too busy conducting my own fork and knife.

This place was not bad, but not great either. Stopped in here with a large group of people for a lunch and found the menu items quite overpriced. I got the fish and chips. Fish was bland and had no taste. The french fries were okay, but I’ve had better. Other people seemed pleased with what they had, so maybe that was just a mistake on my part. The food came quickly so I can’t complain there. Maybe next time I’ll try a burger. Those looked very good. As for the service, the wait staff was very friendly and accommodating to all of us. They helped make our lunch very special. I also hear they have a nice brunch on Sundays, so I’m amenable to trying that too. Again, I’d try a burger on my next visit to see how it goes.

My boyfriend and I were not impressed by this place. We both ordered the prime rib. My boyfriend described it as the worst prime rib he has ever had at a restaurant. I didn’t think it tast bad, just bland. I found myself eating my side dishes first because I did not want to eat the prime rib. We both had Cesar salads as well. The salad was also very bland. The dressing was watery and had no taste. The crutons were tinny and plain. The best food item I had were what tastes like pumpkin bread that they offered in the table bread basket. Our server was not very attentive. The restaurant was not even busy but he did not come to check on us often and never offered drink refills. We had to chase him down to get the check. Overall I would not come back. We spent good money on our dinner and didn’t like it. Maybe it is a better place for brunch.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday a few weeks ago. Delicious! Although we ordered bloody Mary’s and they were probably the worst I’ve ever had. Next time we’ll do the make your own Bloody Mary bar. They also have $ 3 mimosas I got the classic eggs Benedict. I cannot wait to go back!!!

Allo mate’, here I am arriving in my Sunday’s best with my siblings and dad. Once in a while, I like to treat my family to a small outing in Gainesville — oh my have things bloomed over the years. Arriving with my Unilocaler friends on my mind and my finger on the app; scrolling away through the reviews and pics. After reviewing the brunch menu, I quickly compromised with the calorie intake I was about to indulge with the hardest Sunday workout ever later that afternoon to order a … MIMOSA for $ 3bucks! But I definitely hit rock bottom before I even had a sip — my heart fell to the ground as our waitress explained to us that they were out of OJ… WUT. I don’t undahstand!.. it’s. 11am… brunch… Sunda… nevermind. I quickly brushed that off and ordered a «tropical Bellini» which tasted like champagne and your usual cough medicine. Not my cup of Bellini— bahleaveME. ONWARDS to the food. I ordered the Florentine Benedict, which was quite delicious! I would definitely recommend it. The breakfast potatoes had a crispy, yet flavorful taste to it. — Yum. My dad ordered the pan-seared steak and eggs. Which I was definitely not a fan of. The steak was not cooked the way we wanted, and it tasted as if they used water to speed up the cooking process. WHY. Sorry maggie moo, we did not bring honor to you. My brother ordered the breakfast quesadillas, which was meh, just OK. Overall, the dining experience was ok — the waitress was prompt and attentive. I would only recommend the benedict for brunch and just MAYBE a mimosa if I ever get to try it — but hey, who could mess that up?! Grafton Street — I bid you good luck.

Been here about three times. The place is large and is a mix of a Bar with TV’s playing various sports. There is a seperate more formal dinning area that would be good for Families or people who want a bit more quiet. If you come in during the week in the early part of the day it is quiet enough you can sit anywhere. Each of the times I have been here I have had the good fortune to be waited on by Ben who is a great guy who I enjoy talking with. The first time I came in I had Fish N’ Chips. The Meal was good fries were crisp fish tasted fresh not like it had been frozen. They have a good selection of Beer on Tap. My choice was Brooklyn Lager which I had tried elsewhere and like a lot. For desert I ordered Strawberry Shortcake and enjoyed it as well. When I told Ben my Server, it was my first visit he went and got Dermott who I beleive is the manager and so he came out and greeted me nice touch. Second visit had a Burger I think Bacon Cheeseburger. The roll was Different almost like a pretzel roll delicious again fries hot and crisp and again a Brooklyn Lager on tap. This visit I ordered the Chicken Casadilla and it is delicious. I am picky about my Guacamole and it is nice and fresh and not watery. If I had one wish it would be that they throw in more Sour Cream, Pico De Gallo, and Guacamole. I will come back to be certain and try the Beef Stew and the Steak Salad.
