The consistency of the chicken is as flubbery as my boogers. Once I made that realization it was hard to finish my expensive(8 dollar) sandwich.

Ordered from the pick 2 menu. Half salad(summer) and half sandwich(Alice). The half salad was HUGE. I’d hate to see how big the full salad is. Fairly priced. Just shy of $ 10. I took off a star because I asked twice for NO dressing and it had dressing on it. It left the salad sloppy wet on the bottom and inedible for me. The rest of the salad and sandwich was great though!

Love their pita and hummus! Employees seem like normal working college students, never had a problem with their service. I also really love that you can swap ingredients in their salads. My go to for healthy alternative on-campus food

Definitely won’t be eating here again and wouldn’t recommend it. Salad and toppings were just blah. Nothing special. You can definitely find a better, less expensive salad in the area. I also had the broccoli and cheddar soup and it was terrible. Just bland and watered down. I’ve seriously had better soup from a can. I feel like I wasted my money eating here today.

I decided to give this place another chance, as the writer of last review said, over price and not good quality, BUT to add: Rude/bad attitude customer service resulted in me leaving without my food, yes, first time in 15 years of life in USA. Who: The pretty look lady with a little bit of weight, black eye and hair attitude: She is too good for this job and I am too rude for asking a third slice of tomato on my Veggie sandwich, just attitude of indifference and not caring not welcoming, What triggered me to step out? I asked to add Avocado, she did so with her attitude, then put the sandwich together and put it on the oven, one large slice of Avocado that I pay for. fell out over the chopping clean area, she simply grabbed that with lettuce bits and dumped into trash!!! I smiled kindly: Hey, that was a slice of avocado you just throw away, Her answer: «Oh it was?» with the attitude of «What ever» Mr Manager: It is not just to hire young girls and check their looks, you need to interview and see if they have any common sense, care and customer service, I walked out and no reaction, I went back in and gave them courtesy of explaining why I stepped out, They just looked like little kids, Any manager? Leader? I wish I could do 1 star PS– It is not just the attitude, but when you see that bad energy, you wonder how the food is prepared? do they wash hands? Do they clean things? do they hate their job? Just walk 3 blocks to Chipotle or Burrito brothers want meat? Kabob House and Gyru Plus(greek salad)

They have a policy that they will only make salads for pick up if you order 3. Wanted 2. Can’t do it. Gotta be 3. Dumb policy. Lost my business.

Very bad customer service. I came in an hour before they closed, and wasn’t greeted what so ever. My food was basically thrown on the table. As other customers followed me, the girl working the front continued to have a bad attitude. Never coming here again. Horrible experience.

I LOVED Designer Greens as a student in Gainesville so I had to come back and visit! It’s a healthy choice for lunch for sure! They have many Panini’s and sandwiches which you can purchase the full amount or get a half and half(½ sandwich and ½ salad)! If you want more bang for your buck, I’d go with the full sandwich or full salad. The half and half combo is more expensive and might leave you hungry. I love both the salads and Paninis so I had to go half and half! I got a half of the Pepper jack Chicken sandwich which includes chicken, bell peppers, pepper jack cheese, and a chipotle type sauce. I also got half of the Summer salad which includes Sunflower seeds, gala apples, little tangerines, cheese, strawberries, and a poppy seed dressing mixed in. The best part of this place is that you can sub out a topping for a different one. For example, I subbed the cheese for dried cranberries and the sunflower seeds for peanuts. LOVEDIT! This is a great place to go off campus for the healthy eaters out there! The food is always made fresh right in front of you with the freshest ingredients! If you are in the area, definitely check it out! Go for the Summer salad! It’s great!

I eat here every now and then, not because I necessarily want to but because it’s just so close to campus. I’m never disgusted or extremely disappointed in my salad, but I just don’t think the salads are anything special. I like the format and idea of a fast food salad, but Designer Greens just lacks the freshness and quality to keep me begging for more. Sure they have a lot of toppings to choose from, but some of the fruit I’ve gotten on my salad have been a little soggy. The cheese and dressings are also pretty generic. I had one of the sandwiches once, but it was also unmemorable. I hope it changes, because like I said I really like the idea, but for now it’s decidedly average in my book.

I’m a huge fan of healthy food so this is a go-to restaurant for me in Gainesville. I crave the Mexicali salad on the regular, and its my favorite«fast food» healthy option in all of Gainesville. They have great choices for salads and give you the option to build your own as well. I’ve never tried the soups or sandwiches before, but I’ve heard good things. Everything is fresh and made in front of you. Downside: The glass pane in front of the employees makes it very difficult to hear. I find myself standing on my tip toes yelling over the glass. It’s also a tad expensive for what it is and the dining area is limited. I recommend getting your meal to go and heading across the street to campus to bask in the sun while you eat.

With a name like Designer Greens, you’d think they would have good salads. I don’t think that’s the case, here. I think their soups really stand out and are the best menu item that you can get here. The salads are okay, but they’re not really worth writing home about. Service is sub par, at best. Every time I’ve gone here, the staff are a bit snobby and hard of hearing, even when there is five customers in the store. Space is cramped, so don’t be shocked if you can’t find a place to sit down in there.

This place was amazing!!! The varieties of salads, toppings, dressings, and etc is enough to make someone crazy! I wish I had known about it earlier!

I come here whenever I’m too busy to pack a lunch(3 out of 5 days a week. Oops!). Whenever I come during lunch time, the lines are long, but I get out fast. I’m a huge fan of their Gorgonzola salad as well as their guac & pita side. I usually order full salads and share with my boyfriend. It’s about $ 6 a person if you do that. One thing I noticed is that they CHAR chicken here. Whenever I look over at the grill I see some seriously blackened chicken. Eww. I’d definitely never order that and wouldn’t recommend anyone else to do so either. I wish they were bigger, but I’ve always found a table, so I guess they’re ok for a small restaurant!

Agree with Sanjida. It’s pretty much Subway but with salads. For those who want a healthy option near campus, you can mozy on down to Desginer Greens. Concept is good. You stand in line. You can order a pre-made panini or you can make your own salad. They had a bunch of different things to top off your salad. Fruits, nuts, cheeses, meats, etc. I, on the other hand, do not care for salad. I came for lunch with a friend who really wanted to go… so I got a flatbread sandwich instead. They had a lot of good looking ones. I got the Alice Springs Chicken flatbread.(Grilled chicken, bacon, mushrooms, cheddar). I also got a side of pita and hummus. The salads that my friends ordered looked good, but I was all about the sandwich. It was good. The chicken and cheese all melted together very nicely and it has that great grilled smell behind the sandwich. You also get the hint of bacon in it, but I wish there were more mushrooms. The pita and hummus were great. The pita was grilled and so it was hot, warm, and soft. Then you dip it into the hummus and that makes it that much better. Well worth a visit. Especially if you’re on a diet. But… it is kinda pricey for what you get. It was like $ 9 for my meal(sandwich, pita and hummus). But it wasn’t bad. The place is also kinda small and cramp. It gets filled prett quickly so you might have to get it to go.

I liked it. It’s conceptually sound; fresh vegetables and custom made salad. You’ll need to have a good idea of what you want to get satisfactory results — adding random things to your salad is not gonna make a good salad. Also, the price is kind of high for the food you get.

I liked their concept, which is a great salad. For being so close to campus, they are a nice healthy option for UF students. Casual atmosphere, a bit packed in, but that could be because I went during lunch time. Their salads are fresh made in front of you.(designer greens does for salads what subway does for subs) And their sandwiches are pretty yummy too, and still heathy-ish. I haven’t tried their soups, but what I’ve eaten, its good. My only complaint is its a bit pricey, but not so much I won’t go now and then. Good decent salad place girls, definitely try if you haven’t yet.
