It is great noodle restaurant with affordable price. They use the quality of vegetables, meat and seafood. It is less crowd than the other branch in Buena Park. I prefer to come here. Because I can find the parking easily here.

Food is good but service is horrible. The rude ahjumma(«korean lady») puts on a filter of disgust when you eat the food such that it makes the food taste bad. Some of the employees here need to learn some basic customer service.

The lady there is a Debbie downer, never seen anyone so depressed and angry taking orders. She first took our orders incorrectly and blamed my wife. She didn’t even apologize and said she was crazy, the most horrible experience here. We ending up not eating the food or getting our money back. After you read this post you will know exactly who his lady is. She has the most bit$;/y attitude and demeanor. Will never come back here and I hope his place goes bankrupt. Step down from the clouds you think your in and back to reality. Your food is mediocre at best, it’s just noodles with Korean ramen supu. With service like this you won’t last long, I can already tell cause nobody was eating there. There’s another one on beach and malvern but it’s the same owner, will never go there either.

I’m not a typical noodle person but watching too many Korean dramas makes me crave for some Jjajangmeyon. Anyway, since moving to the Orange county, I’ve been hunting around for a good Jjajangmyeon so when I found this place, I was ecstatic. *happy dance* So I ordered a bowl of Jjajangmyeon for to go because: 1. I didn’t have to cramp in the small dining area 2. I can enjoy it quietly while watching movies But. I was a little disappointed to be honest. The portion was big, that’s good. The noodle was cooked perfectly(still chewy), they gave a lot of the black bean sauce with some pickled radish and cucumber. But. it only had a little bit of the meat and you bit into onions most of the time. It also had a little bit of the cucumber, maybe like 7 – 8 strips? I gave it 4 stars because judging from the place, it still serves good food and the service is fast. I could’ve given it 5 stars has it had more meat in the Jjajangmyeon. Will come back to try other stuffs.

Once you’ve tried one place, you’ve tried them all! This place tastes exactly the same as every other Hong Kong Banjum. Personally, I like both dishes: Jjajangmyun and Jjambbong. They contrast each other well. Save your money and don’t get the sweet and sour pork. It tastes dry If you’re here with a hot date, you should each get one and share them. But if you’re here with a hot date, you probably came to the wrong place. Seating is crowded and cramped. You have to clean your own table(because they’re so busy), pour your own water into those standard white coffee cups, and try to have romantic conversations over the loud slurping noises of the people sitting around you. Do you really want Jjajangmyun or Jjambbong? Come here. Do you want a 2nd date?! Go somewhere more romantic!!!

Hong kong banjum is good, but this location is a little off. Ordered to go(2 jajangmyun, 2 jamppong, 1 tangsuyuk) and it came packaged nicely. Each soup has its own container, the noodles are packaged separately, and the jajang sauce as well. The pork was still crispy too However, the noodles all stuck together like rice cake and the worst-THEY forgot my TANGSUYUKSAUCE!!! Was so sad.

I love this soup. So spicy but delicious. I can’t finish it all. The noodles, broth, seafood with the veggies… Words can’t describe all its goodness. You just have to come and try it for yourself. During lunch hour it gets pretty crowded & there are not very many tables. My husband usually orders while I find a table.

This place knows how to make a good tasting bowl of jja jang myun. The noodles are perfectly made with the right amount of chewy texture and the black bean sauce is very flavorful too. If you are looking for a good, solid tasting jja jang ntun place, look no further, this is it!

I went krazy with a korean K when i saw this place as on-the-go jjamppong and jjajangmyun places are hard to come by outside the LA area. But man, the jjamppong was pretty average. Tried my sister’s jjajangmyun and it was spot on. Tl;dr — jjajangmyun is good here, on-the-go style but lots of seating outside the venue.

Food is ok for something quick if you are in the area, but the spicy seafood noodle soup was one of the worst I ever had. The broth tasted like it was made with ramen soup base. I havent tried the other items on the menu so I cant really speak about those, but man was I disappointed. You know when you have that craving and then you go out of your way to get it, only to be disappointed in the end… i hate that feeling!

Here is self service, so you need to order at the counter and when they call your last two digit# on the receipt you need to pick it up from the counter. HongKong BanJum which is famous for JjamBbong in S. Korea was started by JongWon Baek. There are a lot of branches in S. Korea and recently, he has been trying to expand more chains in US. The Broth for JjamBbong made by sea foods and fresh vegitables with hot peppers, so the soup has a hearty and spicy flavor. When you eat JjamBbong, try to eat with TangSuYuk which is sweet and sour pork. It would be perfect matching. There is JjaJangMyun which is black-bean-sauce noodles but it is a little bit sweet. When you want to eat spicy soup or try to relieve a hangover, please try to order JjamBbong. I ‘ve been following hostess of this restaurant, so I know well about the history of this branch. I met her first time in food court in Freshia Market at Garden Grove a few years ago, when she opened it. I really loved to eat JjamBbong at that time. However, Freshia Market was bankrupt, so they could not continously do the business there. After that, she opened new branch at Arirang Market at Fullerton, so I started to visit there to eat JjamBbong. Finally, she opened new branch at Village Circle on Beach at Buena Park which is nearby my house and located in independent building. Anyway, I been following her to eat this delicious JjamBbong. Now I can enjoy it without any concern of closing. Try to eat JjamBbong which is spicy and delicious. You will love it when you are addicted spicy food.

My go to place to get black bean noodle and spicy seafood soup when I am in Fullerton. You can ask them to give you more vegetable and sauce and less noodles(less carbs).

Hong Kong Banjum is just A-OK for me. Cheap and convenient market food court Korean-Chinese joint, with most people coming here for the jjajangmyun(black bean noodles) or jjampong(spicy seafood noodles) that goes for $ 6. The aforementioned noodle dishes are just average though, but meets expectations for $ 6 food court dish. A lot of people like the jjampong here, but it pales in comparison to the one served at Wok Holic on Beach and Lincoln. Supposedly, this location is much better than the newer location on Beach and Malvern.

7.05 for noodle. After tax. 12ish for sweet sour pork. I’m guessing the bad reviews are because people expect little to much from a, place like this Great bang for your buck meals, done real quickly. –1 for that lady who takes orders, she so grumpy.

what a disappointment. you usually see a whole bunch of people sitting in the outdoor area eating what looks like delicious jjam bbong and tang soo yook. you see signs for 5.99 jjam bbong and you think mann what a deal! so you go, and you order your jjam bbong, and jja jang and tang soo yook, pay 24 bucks for said 3 items, find a seat outside(jackpot!) dig in, and wtf. what is this? i honestly could not figure out how the broth for the jjam bong was made… it was mostly kimchi and a few pieces of octopus. it was probably closer to kimchi jji gae more than anything. badly made kim chi jji gae. i could do better. jja jang was also lackluster and the tang soo yook… the sauce was so sticky, we had a fly accidentally land in it. and it ended up just dying in it because it could not break free. seriously, waste of money. if you’re in the mood for quick fast food chinese food it might be worth it, but even then you’ll have to spend time looking for seating and what not so it turns out being not that fast anyway.

This place is located at the end of the food court inside the AR Market, across from their bathroom facility. This little red house only serves a handful of dishes, one of them being jjamppong and jjajangmyun, both being absolutely delicious. It’s mostly Chinese Korean fusion food.(Hence the Hong Kong in the title.) The jjamppong is a personal favorite, it’s a soup of miscellaneous seafood items. There is a bit of meat in it and plenty of veggies. The noodles are cooked perfectly chewy and remind me somewhat of spaghetti but is not. I always add in a bit of Sriracha in my soup, so it’s not terribly spicy but has that spicy-ness flavor. The jjajangmyun is one of those perfect greasy noodle mixes, perfect for hangovers. The dark sauce is mixed with lots of onions and some chunks of meat. There’s never a perfect ratio of sauce to noodles, but I believe you can order more noodles(or steal some from the jjamppong eater across from you). No don’t do that if you don’t know them. There is actually plenty of seating outside if you find yourself without a seat, and they also have to-go boxes for you if you want to take some home. Water cups are readily available and self-serve.

What’s all the hubbub about their jja-jian-mien? A great jja-jian-mien gives you a kick in the pants. The flavor of the sauce is strong, bold and require mouth wash afterwards and the noodle is firm and a little chewy. At HKB, the jja-jian bean sauce was bland, like it was a little watered down, and everything was cooked to mushy soft, including the noodle. Not so good. It wasn’t all bad though. We did discovered a new little Asian foodcourt to try out other options.
