Del Taco

I don’t normally review fast food places (seriously, does anyone?) but this place deserves a review. I’ve been to this place for the past 5 – 6 years and although I don’t go often, EVERY single time I’ve gone, they’ve always done it right. The food is as good as it gets for fast food, the amount of meat they give you in the tacos is easily 2x as much as any other Del Taco location I’ve ever been to, no one has ever gotten my order wrong, and the people who work at the drive through are amazing.
Most recently I was there to pick up a free birthday premium shake — the guy at the window asked if I wanted whipped cream on it and also actually passed it over with a huge smile. Whoa! Talk about unexpected great customer service.
Del Taco offers the birthday shake if you sign up on their website, you also get emails about their new items and coupons, which… I mean, it’s already the cheapest fast food place, I’m not even sure why they offer coupons. (Side note: for a long time, I actually got coupons at my house for a buy one get one free Double Del Cheeseburger. So basically you pay $ 3 for two double meat, double cheese burgers. I don’t even want to think too hard about how that is economically feasible, because it was delicious, end of story.)
So, one long review for the best Del Taco around and I hope it always stays that way.

Went here last Friday to food for the grandkids. The order was prepared quickly, but when we got home one item was missing. I called them and the following day returned to get the missing item.
This has happened here before. I suggest checking your order before leaving.
Food quality is good and service is friendly, just error prone.

One of the best places to eat around CSUF.
Amidst an abundance of low quality and unsatisfactory food experiences that accompany the life of a college student, Del Taco is a beacon of light. It is located a short walk from CSUF’s campus, and has fast service. The restaurant is cleaner than the average fast-​food restaurant, but that is saying little — the food at Del Taco is far ahead of the realm of fast food. I came there with an e-​foodie coupon for 2 Shrimp Tacos and a small drink; my order came swiftly, yet fresh, hot, and tasting very good. So good that I ordered 2 more Fish Tacos, which without a coupon is $ 4.00, an excellent price. What surprised me most is that the food here felt like authentic restaurant food — as a college student who has seldom chance of finding good food, Del Taco, despite first assuming it to be typical fast-​food, is a place I will come back over and over again. Thank you, Del Taco, for giving me hope in good food.
If you do the math, I believe eating at Del Taco everyday for a semester of school is cheaper than buying a meal plan at the Gastronome (ugh Aramark dorm food). In conclusion, Del Taco is a place that I will come back over and over again to enjoy delicious and authentic food.

Good food and they fill the tacos all the same, not one half full the next ¾ full and so on like other locations. Burritos are good but they are not as big as they used to be. Friendly service and clean tables most of the time. This is by the Cal-​state fullerton so they stay busy, try to go here at off peak hours for the fastest service or you will be waiting a while for your order. I eat at del-​taco at least 2 times or more a week and this is my fav location. Only draw back is a lot of homeless people around here and are always looking for a hand out. I Think that has to do with the Goodwill store next door. Try this location it just might be your favorite one also…

I had to pickup my drunk buddies from downtown Fullerton and this is what they wanted.
I wish the food was hotter and the fries crispier, but I guess you can’t expect too much this late into the night.

Well done del taco the chicken avocado bowl was delicious and hot and quick, u want a Chipotle like bowl without the wait and half the price come here. Chicken bowl had fluffy rice, black beans pico de gallo salsa, avocados and grilled chicken perfect for student budget.
Now for wah-​wah, No Bueno nachos. Grainy brown yellow nacho cheese, not like the movies nacho cheese it was grainy and tasted off. I love fake cheese but this was just sad tasting.

best del taco location ive been too.
look i go to school around here and when i need a quick, cheap bite i come here. drive thru is fast and convenient. no problems with that. when i go inside, parking is great. lots of spots and i dont feel like its super crowded even during lunch. inside theyre quick and clean. THEY WEAR GLOVES!!! ive been to so many locations that dont wear gloves while working with your tacos and look this place does it. so thank you to this great management and staff here. super friendly and super efficient.

I do not write too many reviews unless an experience really stands out, which today this del taco was great! I am in town visiting family and with a screaming teething baby and the hotter than we are used to weather I was pretty stressed out about them not hearing my order right but had the mentality that I wasn’t going to care either way just pay and leave so I can eat. The employee that was working the drive thru window was so great, and had a ton of patience. He was super polite and didn’t make me feel rushed or bad about a screaming baby and having to repeat my order. He repeated everything at the window calmly, even though they were busy with lunch and made sure my order was correct. I appreciate that, especially at fast food where most people don’t think they are paid enough a lot of the time to have to have great customer service like that. So this del taco wins in my book for good service and fast food!

This is my favorite Del Taco because the service from the workers is always great. Alejandro and the rest always greet and always try their best to give good customer service. I’m a regular here because it’s near my job and I’ve never had any trouble passing through drive-​thru or when I go inside to dine in.

This place is pretty nice if your doors can lock. Last semester my friend saw a stabbing waiting in the drive thru. Stay safe everyone by being smart. Actually it was gang related so I mean you’re technically safe.
Also 3 stars because she still got her food. I personally don’t like their chicken. It tastes like they add some weird spice blend.

Everything they make is so good! And everyone working at this location have been friendly, fast, and the cooking is the best of any Del Taco I have been to. (Snd I’ve been to s lot.). Also, they’re drive-​thru is open 24 hours. In my opinion, This is mandatory for a Del Taco to be successful, and it is an absolute must, if they want my business… Late-​night Del Taco munchies… Mmmmmmm … Nothin can replace those nights! Lol! 5-​STAR!!!

This place is close to the CSUF campus so i would stop in occasionally on the way to class. The cheaper price for the quality of fast food mexican is what brings me here. They have a variety of dollar items and combos under 5 dollars which is big to the college students.
I never had a problem with my order the service. The only thing that bothers me is that they need to clean up the salsa dispenser and soda machine counter more often. It is almost always a mess with spills and trash.
Other than that i keep an eye for the posters in the window to get the specials and eat on a budget!

I usually don’t do reviews for fast food, but I gotta for this one. I only come to this one because it’s on my way to work. I stop by early in the morning to pick up breakfast. It used to be the egg/​cheese burrito but since they started offering breakfast taco in competition with Taco Bell, I’ve been getting that.
I’m reviewing this place because of the awesome service I always get at drive thru. Early in the morning, before 7AM, it’s usually this one lady who makes the food and Alejandro taking the orders. He is always friendly, quick and accurate. They always get my orders correctly, especially with me not wanting any red sauce. I really enjoy coming here because of his friendly service.
No food review because really… it’s fast food, it’s made one way, the same way, all the time, no matter where you go, the difference is in the service.

Never thought i’d write a review on a Del Taco store… but they deserve this one!
The staff here works like they work at the Hilton. Well not quite that good but pretty darn good. The food tastes great here and makes me wonder why the food tastes different at other locations (gonna stop my imagination there). Another plus is they are open very late. Located right across the street from Bigs bar and grill… its perfect for a one two punch of alcohol and food.

Love the staff here. I guess I am considered a regular. Our family has take out 3 or more times a week.

I know that there are Taco Hell fans out there that are gonna be like ‘Del Taco sucks — Taco Hell for life!’ but this is my review, so suck it!
Absurd as it is, I love Del Taco. It’s hard to go wrong there, as long as you stick to what they do best, anyway. I try not to order most of their limited time specials, mostly because they tend to be awful. Go there for the chicken tacos, or the been & cheese burritos (red sauce please!) or even the regular tacos — you’ll be happy.
This Del Taco can be hit or miss if you order through the drive thru. My food has been known to come up missing, cold, double charged, or all of the above at times. Still, the line tends to move pretty quickly, and you can typically get out of there with your incomplete order in under five minutes.
For order accuracy, I go inside. (At three in the morning, when you’re too high to care about order accuracy, drive-​thru is perfectly fine, I’m sure.) Staff is pleasant, the food orders are typically accurate, and the inside is usually clean, even when filled to the brim with CSUF students (and staff.)
Taco Tuesdays and Thursdays usually provide a deal or two on tacos, if you need an excuse to go there for dinner.
I even like the breakfast burritos — my favorite being the one with eggs, salsa and cheese, though I could omit the cheese and still be happy. The hash browns are disgusting little potato mockeries though, deep-​fried in misery and old oil. Opt for something other than their syrupy iced coffee too — you’ll be glad I warned ya! Breakfast begins at 9pm I believe and lasts till 11am the next day, which works out well for all concerned :)
Suffice to say, I’m a Del fan for life. (Plus, I get my KROQ stickers here.)
