I brought a small business group in for happy hour last week. I can’t say enough nice things about the staff, the service and quality of the food. We all had an excellent time and look forward to another visit. Thanks to Sal and Anthony for making it a nice evening for us all.

This is a great new restaurant offering Italian cuisine but just as important, fantastic, friendly staff. The bar area is fun for Happy Hour gatherings, the restaurant is trendy and the menu diverse. The food is delicious and its presentation is exciting. WOW!

We went for brunch and were very impressed. Fantastic champagne and wine selection. I love the salad station and the pizza oven station. There is about 20 different toppings of high quality. I got about 10 toppings on my pizza!!! There is also a omelette station huge array of desserts and a seafood and antipasto station. Oh i forgot there is the meats, gravies and veg station. My husband and i really don’t like buffets but this is not your normal stuff yourself buffet. This is more a la carte with choice in a relaxed atmosphere. Great quality. Definitely will be back again

Let me start off by saying that I am a frequent flier of Louis Bossi on Las Olas so the expectations for Cibo are high! Cibo is a great Italian restaurant. The atmosphere has a casual elegance and is perfect for a date or dinner before a night out. The only complaint I have is the restaurant can have a bit of an overbearing noise level. We arrived around 9:30pm on a Saturday and did not have to wait for a table. The menu has a surprising assortment of pastas. Mostly homemade and very delicious! If you’re looking for something light try the gnocchi! To die for. The proportions are perfect and the price is just right. Service here is certainly on point. Never had to ask for anything and the check was delivered promptly after reviewing dessert. Most certainly will be coming back to Cibo for another meal.

This is our first time to the Fort Lauderdale location we have been to the South Beach location quite a few times which we love. I must say first the staff at both locations Fort Lauderdale as well as South Beach are wonderful attentive pleasant and friendly. All the times I’ve been to Cibo wine bar have been a wonderful experience. Now on to the brunch the Italian spread is wonderful nice large variety. The food areas are very clean as well as the restaurant as a whole. I’d like to compliment Salvatori for a magnificent job he has managed the openings. Our waiter Duusco was awesome, he was always very attentive to anything we ask for I was pleasantly surprise by the service, in passing i commented to a member of the staff, that i wanted to try the penne al vodka, and when i returned to my table there is was! This was a great experience, and though i enjoy south beach. I think i found my new brunch spot!

This free standing large restaurant is modern and well decorated. The Caesar salad and my husbands mixed greens salad were very good. My pasta in meat sauce was delicious. My husbands chicken parmigiana was mediocre. The chicken was too thick and tough. The $ 6.00 fee to substitute the potatoes for pasta is obnoxious. This is a rather pricey restaurant for food that is ok but not outstanding. The service was very not as personable and attentive to detail as it could be.

I have to remember that a 3 star rating isn’t bad. This place is ok. And that’s ok that it’s ok. Upon arriving I found out that there is/was mandatory valet– skip to the end of my meal, they couldn’t find my keys. Eventually they did, but c’mon now… Back the restaurant. It has a cool vibe. A bar to the side an a large dining area with open kitchen. So open that you can see them make the noodles for your meal. Pretty cool. I noticed that it was very noisy. I was on a date and realized I kept saying, «huh» a lot. I was surprised because it wasn’t that extremely busy. The bar noise does carry into the dining room a lot which creates even more noise. The Spinach salad was so good. Very light tasting which balances well against the heavy pasta. The bolognese was good– very hot, fresh and they give you a nice portion for $ 17. It was good. I wasn’t blown away, but again, that’s ok. As noted in another review. We got our salad quickly and then water forever for our meal. The two of us were there for two hours for the meal. Not because we wanted to, but because we had to. Good thing we got along or it would have been a long night. The vibe is cool, but I don’t know if that’s enough to get me to come back. With so many different Italian cuisine choices, you really have to knock it out of the park and Cibo doesn’t do that.

A multo Italian craving led to a last minute(6pm) reservation request for an 8:45 Sat night dinner. Success! Ironically, we ended up sitting at a hightop table near the bar and eating there when we were asked to wait a bit for a table in the main dining room. And decided to just stay put. It was perfectly fine. We were served quickly by a very friendly waitress. Frankly, the food was not stupendous but it was good. Great wine. The octopus appetizer was well prepared. The Caesar salad was a little disappointing because it didn’t have the big slices of anchovy I had seen pictured on their website. I survived. My BF got a very rich mushroom risotto as a main and squeezed in a crudo tuna app. I had a a small plate of a baked eggplant as a main. It was plenty –the perfect amount of food for a hungry dude and his — post holiday-trying desperately to eat-smart, woman.(kind– sorta). We skipped dessert but the menu selections looked verrrry tempting. This place has a nice lively vibe. The bar was hopping. The crowd is mixes — on the older side 30+. Glad we had a hankering for Italian. Spontaneity is the spice of life!

Today for Sunday Brunch we will be serving up disappointment, unoriginality, and the best stale service you can imagine! We were pretty excited to had found Cibo Italian Brunch for two on Groupon for what seemed to be a great deal. They do Sunday Brunch as Buffet Style including Speciality Stations that consist of Meats, Omelettes, Build Your Own Pizza, Charcuterie, Salad, Made to Order Pastas, and Waffles. These stations seemed very intriguing and different from the normal restaurant Brunch menu. Pulling into the parking lot you will notice your ONLY option is to Valet your car. It is free, however to have a large private parking lot just for Valet seems a bit much for this type of glorified restaurant. Our server Davide explained the Specialty Stations quickly and gave us time to look over the Half Price Champagne Bottle List. They already have them marked ½ price which is one of the perks we were looking forward to! Instead of by the glass or someone else making your Champagne you get to order your own and have it on your table! Bonus! I must point out that absolutely nothing on the Buffet was labeled making it a guessing game as to what you are placing on your plate. We slowly went through all of the stations bringing plates back to our table. With each plate consumed we kept getting more and more disappointed. The quality of ingredients used is very poor making for tasteless, oily blah. «Carving» Station– You will find Bacon, Sausage, Prime Rib, Dry Lamb Chops, and Potatoes. Only two meats were actually set out to carve. Omelette Station– Was there anyone manning this station?!? Pizza Station– Beware! If you ask for too many ingredients or have the Pizza Guy do any amount of work you will be shunned. Just look at his priceless face in my picture below… Salad Station– Throw some ingredients in a bowl, toss, then for the added touch soak those greens in Citrus Dressing. Charcuterie Station– Oh I know what you are talking about; those two sliced meats consisting of Bologna and Salami. Pasta Station– Hello Kitchen Staff! You are literally standing in the kitchen waiting for your pasta to be cooked. They offer three kind of which we tried 2⁄3. Both were very generic/out of a can tasting and made with store bought pasta. Waffle Station– A good Waffle was made, took longer than it should have but they have lots of toppings you can add. DONOTASKFORFRUITINYOURWAFFLE!!! Reply. There is an IHOP right down the road if you want a Blueberry Waffle. My Reply. Oh okay thanks… Dessert Station– Speciality Cakes, Coffee Cakes, Small Cup Crème Brûlée & Chocolate Pudding, and Fruit. Dear Mr Waffle Maker, if you could please not finger bang my Cheesecake when serving it. That would be greatly appreciated. He did this to ALL of the guest getting desserts. As for all the staff working, our interactions were uninviting and very stale. None of the employees were smiling nor offered any extra assistance; more so acting put-out having to do any amount of work. Our server was minimal during our visit. They had bussers coming around cleaning plates off of our table which were done in a timely manner. Overall, we walked out of Cibo with regret and dissatisfaction. Be sure you like sitting right next to other diners here as the tables are positioned on top of each other. I can not imagine how the service would be during a busy Brunch here… No thanks.

1÷19÷2016 — «I feel like I’m on vacation» was my impression of Cibo. LOBSTERTUESDAY!!! So glad for the complimentary valet services. The valet attendant was nice and courteous. We walked in and the were greeted by the beautiful hostess and taken to our seats. She explain that it was Lobster Tuesday(lobster specials) and that we were on happy hour, all wines by the glass were half off. And those wines by the glass, if you get the bottle is half off. This restaurant is stunning and they have dim, romantic lighting, which I am a fan of. As I looked around the open space, I thought to myself«I feel like I’m on vacation.» Our waiter came by and enhanced my «vacation» experience when he had an accent! ROAN, was my favorite part of the experience here. He was knowledgeable, friendly, attentive… I just can’t say enough. He talked to us about the wine and even gave each of us a sample to make the choice of wine bottle easier. We chose the Chianti Riserva, Frescobaldi Nipozzano, Toscana 2012. As we looked through the Lobster menu, we chose the Lobster Thermidor and the Orechiette Pasta, rapini, spicy Italian sausage, fontina, parmigiano, garlic, extra-virgin olive oil. Roan suggested we tried the ARANCINI rice balls(3) stuffed with ragu, melted mozzarella. The Lobster thermidor was creamy and baked to perfection. The pasta was al dente, cheesy but not too much, and the sausage was the right amount of spice. Those arancini balls were to die for. It was my first time trying them. Loved everything so much that we had to order dessert… and I am not a dessert person. We had the Hazelnut praline with strawberries, blueberries and caramel and the Vanilla Gelato with an expresso shot. It came with a chocolate straw that you can sip your dessert… I did just that. I might just make this my thing. From the start to the end, 5 stars! Highly recommend CIBO! Also, great team work by the staff. We interacted with the hostess, server, busser and even a manager. KUDOS! to the management team.

This is a new restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale. They already have two other restaurants in South Florida. It’s big and beautiful and very modern. The seats were very comfortable. The table we sat at had a padded bench on one side and chairs on the other. They even had a few throw pillows for extra comfort. Clyde and I were there with three friends. I started with a glass of white wine. It was nice. My friend got the sangria and said it was delicious, so after I finished my wine I got the white sangria. The sangria was sweet, almost like a dessert wine, and there was loads of fresh fruit in the glass. I enjoyed it and I would order it again. The crusty bread was served with a little cup of black olives. I love bread, it’s my weakness, and this bread was delicious. We tried a few appetizers including steak on skewers and grilled vegetables. Both were good. For our entrees Cyde and I shared the whole fish, I think it was red snapper, and lobster ravioli. Both dishes were delicious although my favorite was the lobster ravioli which was in a rich creamy sauce. I enjoyed the fish, but there wasn’t a lot to eat on it. For dessert we had ice cream which was a perfect ending to a delicious meal. Our server, I think his name was David, was excellent. In spite of it being busy he took the time to describe different dishes and check on us. I hear Cibo has a good Happy Hour and a great Sunday brunch buffet. I’m looking forward to returning.

Quite a lovely surprise when I heard they had opened in Fort Lauderdale. This location is so different from their location in the Gables. It is a free standing building that is just beautiful. We strolled in this past Friday night with no reservations. The lovely hostess told us it would be maybe a fifteen minute wait. Which of course we were fine with. We walked over to the bar area which is very nice and they had very comfortable bench seating. The bar area is a good size and the entire restaurant is very modern, simple yet classy. Our partners in crime were with us Michael and Goldie and we were all discussing how much we liked the interior. We ordered a bottle of wine and before the bartender could even open it the hostess came over and said we are ready for you. Wow, less than a five minute wait. She took us over to a booth overlooking the pizza oven. Our table was perfect. The acoustics are rough in the main dining area which makes it difficult to have a conversation. Our table was perfect being a bit out of the way and we were able to enjoy great conversation. The bartender brought over our great bottle of wine and we started with Grilled Octopus, meatballs, soup and salads. The guys really enjoyed the octopus. The meatballs were ok. They are tiny meatballs in a marinara sauce that was a bit bland in flavor. Hubby loved his soup and us ladies really enjoyed our fresh salads. The Cesar salad with anchovies was awesome! Our server was Brandon and he was excellent from start to finish. He knew the menu well and was very friendly and accommodating. By the time we ate our appetizers we were starting to get full so we decided to share dishes. I ordered pasta with Bolognese which I knew was great as I have had it before. No disappointment it was excellent. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the Bolognese was flavorful. All of us really enjoyed our evening here. Very excited they are at this location. Great spot to just have some good food, excellent wine list, and great service. See you again!

First let me just give the caveat that I found the valet service off-putting since we’re in North Lauderdale here, not fancy schmancy Sobe or the Gables — but oh the embarrassment — the valet is free — so I apologize for nitpicking with the staff about that. My only other(legitimate) complaint is that they keep the temperature there about the same as a meat locker, so you and/or your date might wanna bring an extra sweater or shawl just in case. But when it comes to knowledgeable service — boy does Cibo excel! Extremely friendly, patient and on point staff who know their menu inside and out, seem to almost have psychic powers to describe what wines and/or appetizers a person might enjoy and served adult beverages with incredible panache. My companion and I really enjoyed our drinks, how couldn’t we — half of them were free! A promo special for Amsterdam Vodka served up a nice refreshing cocktail. The bartender George who is extremely knowledgeable about wine, beer and alcohol is creating a new take on some hard liquors by storing them in special casks with additional herbal and fruit concoctions — the results, which he allowed us to sample, are spectacular. My companion and I shared polenta fries with a sublime parmesan dipping sauce. They also have some sort of special homemade Italian condiment that is quite hot, which if you like spice, you must ask for because it is delicious! All those drinks(we indulged in some great red wines by the glass — half off during happy hour from 5 – 7) and the fresh as can be crunchy bread sticks we weren’t too hungry… until I saw their meat and cheese tray that guests next to us were tucking into — it looked worth every penny as there was no stinting on charcuterie or cheeses… so we opted for a simple margherita pizza. This is pizza how it should be made, with a crusty darkened crust that puffs up into doughy goodness, a red sauce that is not too unctuous and of course sparkling with fresh basil leaves that as they soften into the cheesy crust release perfumed odors of their herbal splendor. I’m so happy I can walk here from my house but as noted above, if you need to drive and park, valet is free!

I noticed Cibo on way to my gf’s house and we decided to check it out. We found a seat in the bar area at the tail end of happy hour and decided to order a drew apps and drinks. The server did not come around for at least 20 minutes to even greet us. Once we got our drink orders in we looked over the menu and ordered a Ceasar and lobster ravioli to share. The salad came out right away, but the ravioli was still not at our table 30 minutes later. We finally flagged our server down again and she said she would check on it. 10 minutes later she brought it to our table. It was cold and overcooked. The server saw our discontent and offered to get us a new one. When the fresh one came it was absolutely delicious. Cibo is a relatively new restaurant so I’ll definitely cut them some slack, but they should have more staff working for the large crowds of new customers. It’s a very beautiful place and I’m sure once they get everything organized they’ll do really well.

I was happy to see Cibo Wine Bar taking the place of the very short lived ill managed Italio restaurant on Federal. I first became acquainted with Cibo at their Canadian location on King Street in Toronto. Though a chain operation now having 5 locations, Cibo fortunately doesn’t have that«chainy» restaurant feeling about it. This particular Cibo is in a new structure, only about one year old, hence everything is sparkly clean, neat and up to date. When you drive in, they have a large parking lot but for whatever reason have valet parking only, something I don’t like as I sort of have this thing about having strangers crawling around in my car; but maybe that is just me. When you enter Cibo you’re immediately taken by the size of the place. It’s larger than most restaurants in the area, has good lighting, comfortable seating, a decent bar area with an up to date décor. It also has a lengthy all-encompassing menu consisting totally of Italian food items mostly centered around varying pastas and pizzas but with others as well. For my meal I first chose their Grilled Octopus with radicchio, capers and lemon juice, $ 16 as noted under their Antipasto Pesce section. Then, for my main, their Veal Melanese consisting of a butterflied veal chop, rapini and roasted potato, $ 29. My octopus came in a simple but nice presentation, was properly charred, tender and had a good flavor about it. The veal chop had been pounded tender, was of a healthy size and decently breaded. Along with my meal I had one of their wines, which though very good, was served with what I would consider to be a rather chintzy cheap pour which to me isn’t very Italian like. As far as service went, I really couldn’t ask for much better as it was all professional, friendly and polite, and each of those who served me seemed to know the menu items rather well. When go again, which I most likely will, I think I’ll stick with their pasta or pizza dishes as they seem to be more to the core of what they excel in preparing as well as being a lot less pricey. I also have to say I preferred this particular Cibo location over that of their King Street, Toronto location as the service was much better.
