Good selection of healthy foods and fresh sandwiches, very warm atmosphere. Visit the Freyburg Historical Society while there, just down the road.

As mentioned in another review, Fryeburg(and the surrounding area) is fortunate to have such a store. Natural food and personal care items, locally sourced produce and owners that will look for and bring in new items. Keli and Ray have been more that willing to help find new and tasty vegan foods and bring them into the shop. Did your coffee maker just go out? No worry, you can pick up a new French Press. Run our of TP? The Spice and Grain has you covered. Or do you need a unique gift and want to shop local? They can take care of that too. Good coffee is always on and there are great soup options. Three cheers to the well stocked shelves of the Spice and Grain.

Fryeburg is incredibly lucky to have this little gem. The couple who owns this shop is totally lovely and will go out of their way to get their regular customers something special if they don’t happen to carry it. That said, they are very well stocked with organic, holistic, and healthy fresh foods, groceries, and sundries of all kinds. They have a fantastic spice, herb and grain selection. They carry local fruits, veggies, eggs, honeys, milk, and other great items. They have a small selection of ready to eat foods and some bakery items but I would not say this is their strength, they are not a deli or restaurant. The soups are delicious, and you can always get a good cup of hot coffee. This local grocer also sells beer and wine. Whether you need to pick up fixins for dinner, a sweet gift for someone, or a snack, they really have everything thats good for you.

My husband and I love to cook and this shop is a staple in our diet. They have a wide array of spices, herbs and teas, for wonderfully reasonably prices. We stock up on enough herbs to last for a month for under $ 15 and are able to choose from a large selection of vegan, gluten-free and organic items.

Stopped in on the way to Lovewell Hearing, which was itself very nice — prices here for organic produce&c are cheaper than at Local Grocer and S&G’s bulk spices option is fabulous.(LG sells half the amount of kale for the same price or more, for instance.) There’s not a café but that’s not necessary, and the ambiance — well, it’s a grocery store, what kind of ambiance are you looking for? That aside, it’s cozy in here and folks seemed quite nice.

Love this place! After eating all sorts of junky food in local restaurants, I was ready for a change. I have found great choices for snacks, drinks, and even vitamins in this place. The owners are really sweet, so I have enjoyed chatting with them. They were even able to order me a vitamin, and sell it to me at a discounted price(it went down from $ 16 to $ 10), since they don’t inflate the prices here. Overall, things are very reasonably priced. Odwalla juices are $ 2.75, which is better than some grocery stores! The produce is fresh, and sometimes even goes on sale. Nice breads and baked goods, too. And perhaps the best part – There is a nice setup for drinking coffee and chatting, with the tables in the front of the store.

We stumbled upon this cute little place after a hike in the White Mountains, and what a great treat it is! Plenty of vegan and vegetarian offerings, fresh local produce, and great tips on the region. Bulk foods, fancy beers, comfy seating for the café, and souvenirs too. A quality oasis in the middle of nowhere! It’s not obvious to find though, we would have driven right by if we hadn’t turned down the street to check out a different place with a big sign.
