This shop has (or had) a mechanic that was incompetent in my opinion. I was charged over $ 350 in parts and labor and the problem (chewed wires causing the check engine light to go on) was never fixed in 3 tries. At their recommendation I went to Charlie’s Auto Repair and the problem was fixed for less than $ 100. I miss the Ratchetman! Always fixed it the first time at a fair price!
To be fair they’ve always treated me well when I’ve purchased tires (twice) and had inspections done. Just wont use them anymore for repairs.

My wife had used this shop for a VA inspection previously and was happy with the personnel. So when it was time for an oil change, tire rotation and balance she decided to return there. Long story short, she was told that the brakes needed to be replaced at $ 280. plus. She declined. The tires after being balanced shook the car at 70 mph so they re-​balanced them three times with the same results. After having them re-​balanced at another shop, they were fine. She returned to McCarthy Tire and asked for the $ 40 that they had charged for the balancing to be refunded. She was told that a check would have to be mailed from the home office. Over two months now… no check. The brakes that they said needed to be replaced, were just fine. So, from my experience not only are they slightly incompetant, they also appear to be dishonest. Use caution.

Knowing that a friend of mine regularly uses McCarthy Tire is what prompted me to drive in for a state inspection. I was cheerfully greeted once I came in the door by a gentleman named David. Unfortunatley since it was almost noon on the first of the month, they had an abundance of cars to be inspected and could not service me that day.
I was impressed by the incredibly professional demeanor of the staff and the courtesy that was extended toward me. I was given advice on where to find a part I needed at the lowest price. I was advised of other places in town that might be able to do an inspection that day, and was extended an invitation to return at 7:30 the next morning when they opened. I was very impressed by the customer service, and I will certainly return.

Always willing to take care of all my tire needs.
After buying 4 new tires they would not rotate the tires because the person who I purchased them from left. Completely not fair. I will never go there again.
