Note: doesn’t accept credit or debit cards but has an ATM. My boyfriend and I had breakfast this morning after camping(Greek omelette platter and biscuit breakfast special with sausage gravy), and it was a nice experience overall. It’s a classic American diner and serves that role very well. The staff were friendly and prompt taking orders and checking on us during our meal. The waitress made sure I had my coffee filled when I ran low and brought me extra creamer with the refill. The coffee was«good enough» and better than I usually expect from diners. The prices were good. Breakfast meals were ~$ 4 – 8 and coffee was $ 1.50, and our total bill for two adults came to $ 15.79. I’d go back if I’m in the area again.

If you need breakfast before you get lost in the mountain highway, visit the historic front royal and have breakfast. L’Dees is one of the breakfast restaurants you will find before you enter the Shenandoah National Park or State River Park.

Great food for the cost! We ate breakfast here two days in a row on vacation. Service was great, the place is clean, definitely popular. We tried omelets and the pumpkin pancakes. Everything was delicious! Apparently they also have lunch, but we didn’t try that.

Open early and fun retro feel. Only tried breakfast items but they were a great deal and good bang-for-your buck. The swiss and mushroom omelet was delicious and the toast was already pre-buttered. The hash was not the best I have had/nothing special, but is filling. Pancakes were standard and good, bacon could have been crunchier/more flavorful but sausage was delicious and scrambled eggs were done well. We will definitely come back if we are ever around the area!

Just okay. Very good service but the food was nothing special at all. I have one pet peeve: when I ask for scrambled eggs, something resembling an omelet is not scrambled. I think my biscuit was microwaved. Three stars for the good service.

We came here for brunch. The prices are extremely reasonable. Just normal American breakfast food and it was really great. The waiter was friendly as well.

The food is not bad. I personally go to Mom’s Country Kitchen. If you compare the two at Mom’s you get more bang for your buck. There is more food as a lesser price at Mom’s. It doesn’t help that every time I’ve been to L D’s I seemed to always get the«rude waitress» or the one having a bad morning already at 9 in the morning.

Wow – an absolutely fantastic breakfast! Everything was good – I had the biscuit special. I liked the biscuit and gravy(served hot) and the eggs and sausage as well. The coffee was good and kept coming. Our waitress was really nice and took good care of us.

Minus 1 star for not accepting credit cards, its 2015. Unilocal requires additional text here for this to be considered a review.

This place is what you would expect out of a local diner in a small town. The service was super friendly. Be sure to bring your own butter unless you’re wanting to use country crock fake stuff.

This is the perfect place to go for breakfast or lunch! The best place to enjoy small town Main Street. The menu has lots to offer for all ages. Daily specials are a great way to go when you just can’t decide what to order.

Came here on the suggestion of a co-worker, and I was fairly pleased with what I had today. Since they are only open from 6 am to 2 pm, I had to hurry my butt to get there. It’s kind of easy to find, but I’ll need a gps each time just to get to the street. The parking there isn’t very plentiful, it’s easier just to park on the street and walk up. Now, once inside, the place was packed! I chose to sit at the breakfast bar, since it was just me(mind you, it was 8:30 am). After taking suggestions, I had the 2 pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage. Plus a glass of apple juice. Overall, the food came very quickly; sadly though, nobody really talked to me there, some places will but they didn’t. The food was pretty good! Eggs were not greasy, pancakes had excellent texture and flavor, and the sausage was terrific. I didn’t eat the bacon, it looked too burnt. No, they do not take credit cards, but it was worth the $ 10 for breakfast. It’s nothing flashy, but some nice home style country cooking(it almost looks like a diner). Sometimes, places like this can be overlooked because of places like Cracker Barrel, IHOP, and Waffle House, but it’s the wonders and magic of them that gravitate me for seconds, which next time, is what I’ll gladly do.

My boyfriend and I are both from small towns and saw this gem one morning while out and about. It’s seat yourself, the staff is so friendly and welcoming, and the food was excellent! The whole time we were there(around noon) the place was packed and the environment was homey and family oriented. It’s cash only BUT there’s an ATM in the back hall of the restaurant for your convenience and prices here are a steal for what you get. Fried eggs and bacon were just like being at home :-) Also, I don’t have kids but the women’s restroom looks like someone’s home. There’s a beautiful wood changing station and everything is spotless.

Typical diner, great prices, welcoming atmosphere, delicious food. Great bacon! Mentioned my dairy allergy and they had a helpful response, checking to make sure My order didn’t have any.

Good was plentiful, cooked well, and tasty. Prices are excellent especially when you’re used to the DC dollar. The women’s restroom has the best changing station I’ve ever seen in any restaurant. Awesome!

Awesome diner with just about everything you can imagine on the breakfast menu at more than reasonable prices. For French toast accompanied by two eggs, two pieces of bacon and two pieces of sausage $ 5.95. Service was great even though it was packed and a line to get in.

We stumbled on this restaurant because of Unilocal. The service there was fantastic. And so was the food. It was a very family-friendly place. Large menu and options for that fussy person in your group.

L’Dees is your basic diner/family restaurant in a small town. I’ve consumed about a half dozen breakfasts at L’Dees over the years — my expectations were in check, and L’Dees delivered. Their menu contains all of the usual suspects, and the coffee is basic diner-style. But I mean that in a good way! I really enjoy traditional diners/family restaurants such as L’Dees. There’s no pretense, no designer recipes, no attitude — just basic, decent food, served by honest people for an honest price. What more can I say?

A great little dinner! We stopped here at random while traveling. They do not take credit/debt cards, but they have an ATM in house. Service was excellent and the food was fantastic. Everything you would expect from a small town diner!

L Dee’s was exactly what I was looking for when I fired up Unilocal. The food was excellent, and the service was way above and beyond anything I had expected — and my expectations were already rather high having read other reviews! From parking access to ambience, from the great food to the exemplary service, everything is just right here. If I had to put L Dee’s into one word, it would be, «delightful.» Here’s what puts things over the top though, the prices. I wouldn’t have batted an eye if my check had been twice as much. That’s right, you get wonderful food and service, and it won’t break your wallet, either.
