We were so disappointed when we ate here last weekend. The salad was soggy as if it was made hour prior to serving, we also had chicken nachos, they were awful as most of the cheese compared to the nacho cheese at 7 – 11 stores with just a few sprinkles of real cheddar cheese on top, yuck! My husband had some wings and they were just as bad! We have always recommended Houlihan’s to our friends, I hope they don’t go now! This place has changed so much over the past year, we used to enjoy the food!

Only able to rate the service as I never got to eat or drink. Walked in to the bar and sat down… No bartender. 10 minutes later I realize she is sitting in a booth with some other customers and No one is getting service. She gets up, never says a word to me, gets a bottle of beer from the cooler and leaves. I got up looked for someone to see if I could get a table on the restaurant side and there was no host. If you are staying in the hotel and have no other choice give stick it out. Maybe the food is better than the service.

Dry chicken. Dirty eying hostess. 15 minute wait for a refill. The hostess seemed to dislike either me or my apparel for some reason. No idea who she was can’t even remember her name, not that she introduced herself as we walked in. Not only did my chicken feta taste like it was bought at foodlion in a box. My chicken was so dry and charred it was hard to eat. Really I didn’t eat it. My sister got a chicken blt burger or sorts and it was actually really good as were the fries. That’s why two start instead of one. Also on top of trying to choke down the dry chicken I went almost a full 15 min with an empty glass that I sat on the edge of the table before I was even asked if I needed a refill. Actually she didn’t ask because she could tell, I’m sure, I needed another. It’s just most places I go when you have alcohol they tend to want to keep your whistle wet. Not here. Not this place.

man… i hate to give this place 2 stars… but this is the third time we have been here with underpar food and pitiful service… i know its not a 5 star dining establishment, but for the third time, my favorite dish(fish tacos) were horrible. My wife and I had to send them back because they forgot all the toppings that make it wonderful. How yummy is some fried fish in a crusty flour tortilla with lettuce on it sound… we also had our 2 kids with us, and my 4 year old had to wait for his food… super awesome time if you’re a parent. They also forgot salads that we ordered, and milk with our kids dinner… our waitress(i wish i got her name) just dropped the check without saying a thing… maybe a bad night… COMEONHOULIHANS!!! This location has been much better in the past… maybe new management… another crappy experience for me… ill try them again, but my patience is thin :)

I love this restaurant! Steak is on point. Their ranch they make in house is perfect. Customer service is the most important part of getting me back as a customer and they get 5stars for sure on that! Keep it up guys! We date here often. And will continue to.

My wife and I stayed at the Front Royal Holiday Inn for one night in August. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but based on our experience at Houlihan’s we will in all likelihood not eat there again and cannot recommend this restaurant. During our stay we ate at the restaurant on two separate occasions. There was a major disparity between our afternoon and evening dining experience at Houlihan’s. We decided to eat at the bar on the afternoon of our stay and ordered some drinks, the fries, and pot stickers. We were very impressed with the quality of the food and the promptness of the service. Alyssa, our bartender, was courteous, professional, and very customer service oriented. Even though there were not many customers in the bar she was constantly working, preparing for the evening shift. She even took the time out to write down a drink recipe for my wife. We looked forward to returning to Houlihan’s in the evening but our experience was extremely disappointing and as a result we will not be returning here again. Our bartender for the evening was Amy. She was extremely lethargic and did not appear interested in serving her customers. She disappeared several times during the night to take smoke breaks leaving no one behind the bar while customers waited for her to return. Empty dishes and glasses piled up in the bar area during her absence. When Amy returned from her smoke breaks she did not wash her hands. She also failed to wash her hands after she took out the trash. She did make time to check her phone even though the bar was busy and customers had to wait to place their orders. After she poured a draft beer she left the tap running and I had to notify her of this. We also observed Amy pour alcohol from one bottle to another which, from what I understand, is illegal. We ordered one of the flatbreads during our evening visit and when it arrived it was cold from sitting too long prior to being brought to the bar. Based on the unsanitary conditions we observed and the unacceptable customer service we experienced we will not be returning to the Front Royal Houlihan’s.

A great choice for a family lunch or dinner, and even better for a night out. Daily drink specials are awesome and the food is always hot and fresh. Great homemade food!

The service was fine; the food was absolutely terrible. Moldy, frozen, shriveled up tomatoes on a pile of iceberg lettuce for a side salad. Frozen broccoli, and dangerously undercooked salmon for a woman 4 months pregnant. Like I said, the service is fine, but definitely don’t go here for food.

Had no clue we had this kind of fine quality cuisine here in Front Royal. I cam in for happy hour and had a blue moon with calamari. The calamari was fried to perfection and the batter had a soft yet lightly crispy texture. They stuck a pair of chopsticks and some sesame ginger dipping sauce to accompany the dish. This went together perfectly. The blue moon was right at the right temp and garnished with a very hefty quarter orange slice. Bartender bradly, was attentive friendly and upbeat. Overall if I could give this place 6 stars I would.

Always love the food here. Higher quality for the area. Normally this place is clean, except for today’s visit. There is breakfast remnants under/near several tables. Not sure if they had a really busy breakfast but even after we are our lunch it was still there. I would have thought at least a manager would have noticed it since the employees cleaning the tables did not. Lastly, the bathroom was disgusting as well. The urinal was a mess, almost like it wasn’t cleaned from last night.

Decent food. My meatloaf was pretty good. I tried my boyfriend’s fettuccini Alfredo and they definitely put too much sauce in there.

Very clean, very extensive menu, very good service, and very good food! Mussels were so-so but kids meal options were great, and portions were a good size.

We have dined here several times after a round of golf and we think the food is awesome. Very creative dishes with an Asian twist, fresh ingredients, tasty. Compliments to the Chef. Manager, too young for the job, needs some pointers on how to address customers. Otherwise great after golf place!

Houlihan’s in Front Royal is attached to the Holiday Inn hotel. I will start by saying that the service is just OK. I’ve had some nice servers but a lot of the ladies there kind of don’t really have any personality. They don’t talk much and seem stand offish even though their whole entire job is to be friendly and make you spend more money. The food selection is pretty good and the dishes are overall not bad. They have good beer too. Houlihan’s also serves breakfast and it tastes good BUTBUTBUT it is way overpriced and I think this is because they’re attached to the hotel.

This place has great tasting food and awesome staff from waitresses to chef and manager. We had dinner yesterday, breakfast this morning and lunch later. All three times the food was amazing. We ordered wine, Bruschetta, spinach salad and Tuscan white bean salad for dinner. Breakfast was waffle, garden omlette with skillet roasted potato, bread etc. And for lunch I tried Enchiladas. We loved what we ordered. It was exactly what we wanted. It has a nice bar too. The staff at this restaurant and the Holiday Inn hotel are awesome. During dinner the Manager came to check if we liked the food and after lunch the chef came out to thank me and wish me a good afternoon. The service was impressive. I will visit this place again. Highly recommended if you are close to Front Royal, VA

Decent food, just as one would expect from a chain. By no means bad, but not superb either.

I can’t remember ever being to a Houlihan’s before and I doubt I’ll ever darken their door again. This one, in a nice Holiday Inn, is quite atmospheric but the service is sub-standard and the food not-so-good. The greeting by the hostess lacked personality and one waitress wearing a very unflattering outfit(frayed jeans and a too-tight T-shirt) talked to a group of guys at the bar, coming back repeatedly, for way too long. My server, the bartender, was pleasant enough but she waited until I was nearly finished to check on the meal and then I had to ask twice for the check. I had meatloaf which I figured must be pretty fool-proof and it arrived barely warm and tasting like it had been made in a factory, microwaved and topped with canned gravy. Best part was the crispy onions, also manufactured. However, $ 20 including tip is not a lot for dinner so I reckon they can’t afford to pay for good managers or cooks. Or train their servers. Poor show.

The restaurant is clean. The staff is ok. We went on a Saturday night. The food was really bad. I’m not sure where to start. The almond crusted tilapia was over cooked with way too much butter sauce. My son’s Mac and cheese came almost cold and was cooked with imitation cheese. The mashed potatoes were awful. My wife’s mushroom enchilada came with bland rice and over cooked beans. The fried calamari was way too breaded, and was over fried. The high chairs are too small for toddlers, and smaller booths don’t have room for booster seats. I wish I could say something good about the food here. For cleanliness I gave an extra star.

I like Houlihan’s, but I wish they were open later. The staff is very friendly, the food is excellent. I particularly enjoy the Thai lime wings and the ahi tuna appetizers. A little out of the way unless you happen to be staying at the Holiday Inn or finishing up a round of golf next door. I wish there was a larger selection of beers on tap, but otherwise I really enjoy the times I find myself at Houlihan’s.
