Silver Fox Steakhouse Frisco is a special place. Three years ago the staff at this location helped us with a very big secret. We had reserved their large room for a birthday party. We had invited 30 close family and friends. The room was set up and the staff had even surprised us with vases filled with flowers for our tables. We had choices for our meat, vegetables, dessert. All the food served was delicious. During this celebration, our guests did not know the actual intent was for a wedding. The servers helped to move tables, they helped to take pictures, and our family was in shock. We return to Silver Fox for wonderful meals, on time service and great customer service. It is almost time for our wedding anniversary. Thank you Silver Fox for a wonderful memory. We will be back for special occasions, for our celebrations and«just because».

Excellent food and excellent service. I had the rack of lamb which was superb, my husband had the filet/lobster special which was divine, and my daughter had the prime rib which was cooked to perfection.

There are five steak houses in the metro that I’d recommend to any steak lover in a heartbeat, and Silver Fox is one of them. I always go for the III Forks Salad followed up by the large fillet mignon(if the bone-in is available it’s highly recommended and worth the upcharge). Nice selection of wines and knowledgeable wait staff to assist in your choice. Service is always impeccable, staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous, ambience is fantastic and the food is to die for. It is also a bit more intimate and quiet than other steakhouses in the area, so great for a nice romantic dinner. Definitely worth checking out.

Probably my favorite prime steakhouse in DFW. Never disappointed. The steaks are cooked to perfection & the specialty sauces are amazing. Love the wedge salad. Happy hour is nice too on those evenings where you just want an appetizer & cocktail.

My first time at this restaurant and very likely my last. Their appetizers were pretty good, I had the jumbo scallops, crab cakes and stuffed mushrooms. All very solid and cooked nicely. The steak, that’s a whole other story. First, I could tell this was a very good cut of beef and it looked amazing! Unfortunately, the way it was prepared and cooked was just wrong. Not dry, but absolutely no juices. It wasn’t that it was inedible just way less then you’d expect at a steakhouse on this level. Also, their beer selection is very weak and what they do have is in bottles, no draft. I get that is how it used to be at most high end restaurants, but this isn’t «use to be». This place is just following the old blueprint. Make it dark, use white tablecloths and put the wait staff in black. I know it’s a tried and true way to make money and that’s all fine but this place has nothing new or exciting or even anything that impressive. The staff we had was great and that’s what the two stars I’m giving are for. The lack of thrill was not their fault.

Somehow, Silver Fox has consistently escaped me in the years it has been open. I’ve been to III Forks a number of times, and I’ve certainly made my rounds in this little shopping area that Silver Fox sits in, but I’m going to get dramatic and assume a combination of Fate and being easily distracted seem to have conspired against me ever going here. Until this last weekend. And, like that old adage promises, good things definitely come to those who wait, as Silver Fox is an easy steakhouse to recommend in a city with more steakhouses than the population of some small towns in Texas. The entrance to this Silver Fox is kind of impressive for the rest of the surrounding area. You get a covered walkway behind a valet, imposing doors that look like they were lifted from the set of a murder mystery movie and a couple placards fastened to the wall letting you know you’re in the right place. Once inside, the hostess desk awaits you straight ahead, while the bar and one dining room branch off to the left, and another seating area goes off to the right. This is important to note because if you’re anything like me and you imbibe a drink, or 12, you will not get lost on the way to the bathrooms — this place is pretty wide-open, and yet it’s quiet and relaxing. The atmosphere is bustling with people, especially near the bar, but not once will you find yourself straining to hear your date or playing charades with your dining guests to guess what they’re trying to tell you. Anyway, the hostesses were all cordial and efficient with their welcome. I think I spoke to one of them earlier in the day, as someone called to reaffirm my OpenTable reservation, and that degree of service and attention carried over in-person as someone walked us to our booth in the bar area. We passed a number of tables and other booths, and each one was either set with guests, or being bussed to soon be seated. Business is booming here, and it is not hard to see why: if the front desk service is any indication of the rest of the experience, you cannot miss! After being seated, Clay came over to welcome us and he made our visit here a terrific one. For one thing, the man kept the pace of the meal very even, and that’s huge when you go out to a steakhouse. Some servers rush you out the door to turn tables and some servers forget you exist and your meal pushes into four-hour territory before you even get to dessert. This guy had timing down to a science, and was always there with refills or dining recommendations. That’s where things get interesting. Simply put, there are too many mouthwatering options to consider for one trip. The crab cake appetizer was great, as were the salads, but would we get them again? Maybe, but we would also feel comfortable branching out to try different things. The salmon and steaks were all delectable, but what about that lamb or, blasphemous as this may sound, that burger? And don’t get me started on the sides. No, seriously, don’t. This whole review could be about the Maker’s Mark mushrooms(!), which are impossibly better than they already sound. There was also a laundry list of desserts to consider, and now that I think about it, desserts and drinks may be a terrific excuse to come back — the bartenders were all generous with their pours(thanks!), and the chocolate cake we attempted to topple was worthy of the caloric overload it resulted in. Really, coming back to Silver Fox is a foregone conclusion. It’s a decision pushed right into«absolute certainty» thanks to the manager wandering the floor. I’ve lost count of the number of reviews I’ve posted on here lamenting the absence of a managerial presence in a «fancy» place, and Silver Fox’s manager on duty quickly shut that concern down. She visited every table, greeted guests at the front desk when they came in, and, if it was necessary, probably even took time to change a burnt out lightbulb if she had a spare 30 seconds. Seriously, she and her staff deserve kudos for keeping their guests confident in the polished level of service on display. There really are no complaints to voice when it comes to a visit to Silver Fox. If you find yourself flipping a coin between two steakhouses some night, save yourself the effort and give this place a shot. It may have«silver» in the name, but I’m confident you’ll find it worthy of gold.

As far as steak houses go there are far better offerings through the DFW! If you’re looking for a good cut, well cooked and perfectly seasoned steak that usually means you’re willing to pay a big check at the end of a the meal. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more in gas money to take yourself to some of the better, longer in business, and better chefs steak houses in the area. You’ll be happy you did. I’ve had the opportunity to dine at this establishment a handful of times over the last three years and each time it just seems to be the same. Nothing new or interested. I keep hoping they will change their chef or do source their meats from a different vendor but it hasn’t happened, at least it doesn’t seem as though it has. That being said the ambiance is okay and the staff and valet are quite accommodating. The food just doesn’t match the rest of it as a whole.

Lame house salad. Mediocre steak for the price. Was that really Prime? Decent wines but some huge markups. Limited appetizer list. Classic suburban Dallas. An Applebee’s of steak houses.

My husband and I went here for dinner and it was absolutely fantastic! Our waiter was extremely personable and gave us great suggestions for food and beverages. I had the steak which was cooked to perfection and their signature cocktail(raspberry lemon drop martini) and went home in a happy food coma. I strongly recommend dining here and my husband and I will be back soon!

Service At first our waiter seemed very attentive but once we ordered we only saw him maybe 2 times. Within about 5 minutes of us placing our order the table next to us was seated. They ended up getting their food 10 – 15 minutes before us and we never saw our waiter as we continued waiting for our food. When our food finally did arrive most of it was cold or barely warm. As we sat waiting for our server to come back so that we could let him know we saw the manager walk around and talk to every table but ours. He even walked to two tables on either side TWICE. We’ve never been to a steakhouse where the manager didn’t come by especially when we were celebrating something(my husbands birthday). When we finally did tell our server about our food being cold he took it back to get it fixed and even then the manager still never stopped by. Food My husband said his steak was warm and good and his potatoes were ok. I had the sea bass which was«simply seasoned» which I did not care for. I prefer more than just salt and pepper I guess. My potatoes were plain didn’t seem to have any seasoning. The Mac and Cheese was ok but nothing special. Since the manager visited every table but ours we stopped by to tell him how bad the service was and the issue with our food. He said«sorry» and«I’m sorry to hear that» but made no attempt to try and fix it or salvage the experience. He didn’t even seem to care based on his response and lack of concern. Bottom line– this place fell so short of our expectations; there is much to be desired compared to the other steakhouses we frequent.

If you love III Forks, you’ll really like Silver Fox. Same excellent menu but a more modern atmosphere. Much darker interior lighting. Considering the menu prices are about the same, I’d prefer date night at III Forks for the unique old-school elegance.

One of the best steakhouses in the state of Texas! Steaks are always on point and the service is impeccable! Better than any steakhouse you can even think about, I truly feel like it it still the best kept secret!!! Now, I know this is a steakhouse, however, don’t miss the delicious scallops! Honestly, the BEST I have ever had. All of the side dishes are simply amazing and the tomatoes and onions they serve individually is fresh and priceless. Try this place as soon as possible for an amazing experience!

The best steakhouse in Frisco or Plano. Better than Bob’s, better than Capital Grille, and better than Perry’s. Get the Strip Pepper steak.

Great wine list! Get a reservation if you are coming on a Friday or Saturday evening — the place gets a little crowded! Or you could try and find a place at the tiny bar. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a nice steakhouse — very dark lighting, comfy big booths, and dark wood. The bartenders are very attentive, and there are some tv’s to watch sports at the bar. I came in for a couple glasses of wine and a bowl of the french onion soup(which was excellent). The complimentary pickles and bread are super good — the pickles are almost sweet! If you are coming in for prime rib — be warned that they are huge!

I can’t think of a single reason to give this place less than 5 stars! Loved our waiter. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and appropriately attentive. I like the lay out of the restaurant and the lighting. Not too bright or loud for a Friday night. We ordered calamari to start, and it was the best calamari have ever had. By far. Soft, melt in your mouth, perfectly fried… honestly can’t believe it was fried calamari. I can never have it anywhere else again. I ordered med rare filet mignon, and he ordered rare ribeye. Both were perfectly cut, cooked and seasoned. Best seasoned filet I’ve ever tasted. Worth every penny.

What a fabulous dinner! We made reservations NYE for 8:45. We arrived a little bit before our reservation time and ordered a glass of wine form the bar. It was three people deep, but we got to order our drinks in a timely manor. I like to watch the servers in acton while I wait. I was highly impressed that both managers on duty were bussing tables, taking out drink orders, and seating guests. Bravo to the management team for helping out your wait staff. We were seated promptly at 8:45. We had the sweetest waitress named Simone. She was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. It had a set menu which is to expected being that it was NYE. THe surprising part is there were 12 items to choose from. I started with a crab cake. It was perfectly prepared with mostly lump crab meat and very little fillers. I then ordered the III forks salad and the hubby had the lobster bisque. My salad was fresh and crisp with a light dressings and the hubby enjoyed his soup. I had the most mouth watering, tender filet mignon cooked perfectly for my meal. It was accompanied with peppercorn sauce, whipped potatoes, creamed corn, and snap peas. The hubby ordered the bone in New York strip. It was huge, it took up almost the whole plate. He was elated with how well it was prepared and the quality of the meat. It also came with the same sides as my meal. Now, to say we were stuffed is an understatement. We were in a food coma. It was a perfect meal for a perfect night. Our meal also came with dessert which we had boxed up to take home. We both had the chocolate cake, which tasted fabulous the next day.

While on travel for business(and staying at the Westin), my friend and I drove over to the Silver Fox for dinner(it was raining, otherwise, we probably would have walked). Everyone was very friendly, and I think our waiter really stole the show by offering us a glass of «Frisco’s Finest» … aka tap water. LOL. He had a really good sense of humor, which we like. I started off with a cocktail because I had been sitting in a boring real estate class. I ordered a Grey Goose gimlet and I must say it was strong! One was all I needed! I like the pickles that they brought out for us to munch on, too. Cannot recall what they were called but gosh they were delish! I had the lobster bisque, but I really don’t know why … I have never had lobster bisque before so I guess I just wanted something different. LOL. It was pretty good but I really cannot say that I would ever order it again regardless of where I was. I ordered the 6 oz petite filet, cooked medium rare, and it was incredibly tasty and cooked to perfection! The atmosphere was somewhat casual(in my opinion) given the area we were in, but since I live in Houston and everything is casual, it didn’t really bother me. Overall a great experience and if I’m ever in Frisco again, I’ll be back!
