Hair by Houston

This review is over two years in the making, but I’ll try to keep it short! After relocating to Texas from another state, my first three attempts at finding a new stylist were with Toni & Guy because I’d been familiar with them back in Florida and had lucky enough have the same stylist for over 8 years. First, I tried a level 3 stylist at the Galleria and didn’t get the cut I was hoping for. Next I gave a management level stylist two chances at the Preston location in Plano, but still had a bad experience. My third stylist was a great girl who finally took the time to listen and she had a great personality, but her skills didn’t match and after several crooked and poorly layered cuts, I had to find someone new. Now, I’m not picky… I just have fine, straight hair that I like to have cut with some texture to give it body. I wanted desperately to find a stylist that I could just go to, without giving a lot of instructions, who would just know what type of cut would make my hair look great and I could trust them. By chance, or maybe fate, I walked into a salon around the corner from my house in Frisco last March, not expecting much and just looking for a trim since my bangs had grown out horribly. That’s where I met Houston, and I am so thankful that I did. Not only is she a lovely person to talk to, but she has such great skill. She fixed my layers after just two cuts and she gets my bangs perfect every time without me having to say much of anything. When I bring her a photo, she actually pays attention and provides a cut that works for my hair type, instead of my experiences at T&G where they just did what they wanted. She doesn’t pressure me into buying product and she’s adjusted her schedule to fit me in when I’ve made the mistake of not scheduling an appointment far enough in advance. My search for a stylist has ended and I can’t recommend Houston enough… So, if you’re in the market for a stylist who cares about how you look, not just another hair academy drone who repeats the same 5 styles on everyone who sits in their chair… then she is the one for you!

Absolutely LOVE Houston! Not only is she the sweetest person on the planet, but she ROCKS as a stylist. I truly love what she does each and every time with my hair. She’s honest, talented, caring, funny, and she won’t let you make a bad hair decision!
