Van Go’s Pizza

Fantastic pizza and good service. We had a Caesar salad bowl and 16″ prima pizza. The salad was tasty and nicely sized, the pizza was DELICIOUS and so fresh! Service was fast and attentive, prices were quite reasonable.

There was ample seating inside and outside. Really great place, can’t wait to go back!

Delicious. The waitress was extremely nice, very friendly and she was the only one working Our margherita pizza was one of the best we’ve ever had. They have local beer on tap as well as a good choice of soft drinks.
The back patio is very quaint. The inside is nicely decorated and clean.
Prices are reasonable, overall a great place that we’d highly recommend.

The pizza was very tasty. We enjoyed the crunchy crusts. Our two families had cheese pizza (kids were happy), Italian sausage (just a bit spicy!), and Pear Prosciutto. As an extra bonus, the back garden had the gnome house mentioned in other reviews with books the kids enjoyed reading. We’d gladly eat here again.

Friendly staff, good beer, decent pizza (very tasty crust). Was nice out on the patio, but a few too many mosquitoes for me. Still, a nice local gem just a few blocks away from some of the horrific touristy joints. Worth the walk!

Great pizza! We decided to order take out since we had a really busy day with island activities. Was pleasantly surprised when we order pizza from Van Go’s. When we visit next time this is a must! Ate the leftovers on our ferry trip back to Anacortes. Highly recommend to eat here! Yum.

Food? 5-​stars. Wine? 4+ stars. Service? Uuugggghhhhh… We were on a tight timeline and tried to call ahead. Nope. Phone was clearly off the hook, as when we arrived there were only two tables seated. Asked — immediately — if we could get in and out in an hour. «Sure, no problem.» Um, actually a slight problem. I totally get «island time», but we really had someplace to be (and we are currently late)… The pizza is bomb, though. We had Gorgonzola & chicken and prosciutto & pear. So good. The bottle of cab was great too. But don’t come if you’re in a hurry. Really. This is a 90-​minute minimum joint.

The pear, Gorgonzola, prosciutto pizza was good, but not great. I would like larger pear slices, and a different sauce, but the pizza was still enjoyable.
They have playing cards available at each table, and cool «Van Gogh» like decorations. The entrance is a tunnel structure with vines growing through it that is well lighted, and makes for a delightful preparation to entering the building.

Pretty good pizza. We had #6, an arugula and roasted garlic number. The Caesar Salad was a little salty, which is the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of five. Service was friendly and the poor girl who was the only server on a Friday night (need to hire more, management!) was trying so hard. Good, inexpensive place to eat in Friday Harbor.

The most amazing people run this restaurant and they make some delicious pizza. Alejandra and Daniel worked with us to create a welcome dinner for 45 people the night before our wedding. We are still hearing from our guests how great it was — all of it, the comfortable courtyard in the back, the personal service, and the yummy pizzas and salads. We’ll be back again and again. Don’t forget to tip the boys in the back kitchen.

Terrible service – waitress had such a bad attitude. She had a very thick accent and was blonde and got mad at me for not eating in a group of six people who were all eating. She also had to wipe down the table and told us if we kept staring at her she’d only go slower. I told her I was lactose intolerant and she just got annoyed with me, and proceeded to charge me for sparkling water.
I didn’t eat the food but I know her bad service ruined the experience for me and my friends who would’ve enjoyed the pizza otherwise.

Great little hidden gem in Friday Harbor. Definitely seems targeted to locals, which is exactly what we want as a visitor!
Excellent local beers on tap. Pizza crust was outstanding and toppings quite creative and the salads are super fresh too. We had the Brussels Sprouts/​Bacon pizza, Buffalo Hot Wings pizza, and a Pesto Veggie. All were great and we had leftovers for lunch for the next day.
Fun place for kids too — the décor is funky and there is a killer back patio with a gnome house. Playing cards on the table keep the little ones occupied until the food arrives.

Van Go’s is an oasis of quality pizza in an ocean of crappy seafood that is Friday Harbor.
If we were smart we would’ve come back here for every meal.
We sat outside in the courtyard around back. The day was hot, but the courtyard was cool, shaded, and had a tiny play area for kids.
We ordered a veggie and a meat pizza, both were awesome. We specified extra done for crunchy crust and the results were perfect. (Sometimes pizza places just ignore such a request)
Our service was just fine, but I did a few areas to be improved upon:
1. A large party that was seated before us slipped through the cracks and ended up ordering after us. The staff apologized and worked hard to make it right– the family didn’t seem to be too upset.
2. Pizzas meant for another table were mistakenly delivered to our table.
3. Menus seemed to be in short supply.
Overall– none of the little inconsistencies would keep me from coming back. Especially considering the alternatives in a town that does it’s very best to exploit a captive audience.

The high ratings for this place baffle me.
Took my family there earlier this week, and sure, the patio is charming and the people are nice. But MAN was the service ever slow and the pizza lousy!
We must have waited 15 minutes before we were even served water, and though the classic pizza our kids ordered was passable… The chicken/​Gorgonzola thing we had was just not good. It’s not just that the crust was too thick (hey man, I can be down with deep dish)… It was just too doughy, rendering it inedible. We resorted to scraping the topping off and eating those do as not to consume insane amounts of bread… but yeah, the toppings. Not yummy… and it’s not because we don’t like chicken or Gorgonzola. Love ‘em both to death. But there was something seriously off.

Excellent pizza and amazing salads. Friendly service and not as touristy as other places in town. Great outside deck.

Great pizza and really nice people. Every table has playing cards and they have a small but descent list of beers available as well as wine. We had the pepperoni pizza and it was spot on. Probably one of my favorite pizza places yet. They also have a patio to enjoy.

This pizza place has many diverse options on the menu, rather than just relying on the classics, pepperoni and cheese.
the service is fast and friendly. We were well taken care of!
Parking was really easy, as the restaurant sits back from the Main Street.

Stopped in for a gluten free pizza and it’s easily the best pie in town. They also have hard cider, which is always a plus. The prices are reasonable and the service was prompt and friendly. This just became our top pizza choice on the island.

Friendly pizza place in Friday Harbor. We did take out which was perfect as we ate our pizza on our cottage deck by the water. I could see how eating in could be fun too. Quaint place to eat.

We were a large group of 7 on a Friday night. They made room for us and service was super friendly.
The Greek salad was great and we ordered three large pizzas. Was delicious. The meat pizza was beyond yummy.
A great experience for us out of towners. A little expensive but not anymore then we would pay back home in Edmonds. Everyone left full and happy.
