Great local pizzeria. Not many of these left. Seems like a close knit family runs it and has for a long time. First time we went on a Saturday night and had not ordered ahead. Pretty busy with take out orders, but ours only took about 15 – 20 minutes. Gal up front was friendly and seemed to be very good at her job. Finally the food. There were 4 of us and we went all different directions. Wife had Gnocchi with this spicy red Alfredo sauce. That sauce was the bomb. I want to bathe in it. I had a Stromboli. Baked sandwich with sausage, salami, cheese, and mustard. Could only eat half. Tasted great. Lunch tomorrow is set. Kids split a calzone and said it rocked. We all split an order of garlic cheese fries. OMG. Yum. All in all, this is a great local spot that has been around longer than me. How I just discovered it tonight is a mystery.

With only two small tables, there is almost no where to wait for the 37 minutes it takes them to get a spaghetti dinner together for take out. They are way over priced and the food is nothing special, no salad comes with the $ 12.00 dinner and the portion is TINY. it’s not even half of what you’d get at other places. The meat sauce is thin on the meat & very watery and the one & only one roll they give you is not even made from French bread… and they’re not the friendliest. Won’t be going back.

Only 4 stars because I’m also a fan or Popolos and Tony’s. Mama Mia’s pizza and calzone’s are very very good. I got the medium combo and needed a plate and fork to eat it cuz the toppings were rolling off the slice. Fresh ingredients, tasty sauce, lots of chewy/stringy cheese and the dough is not too thick. I was surprised at how heavy a medium pizza was. Their medium was heavier than a large combo from most of the local franchises. The calzones are huge(my wife and I usually split one). Everything about the pizzas are true for the calzones. They get crazy busy between 5 – 7 so call ahead or plan on at least a 45min to an hour for delivery during these times. Still very much worth the wait. NOTE: There are only 5 – 6 small tables inside. Seating outside in better weather.

I come here but always forget to review! I love this place for lunch. Whether for a mini vegetarian calzone or a cheeseburger. This place is always tasty. Call it in, it takes a while to get this home made goodness ready. I really have to appreciate that they cut the stem out of my delicious ripe tomato. It’s the little things that make my food more wonderful. Thank you Mama Mias!

2 hour wait for pizza delivery. When I called and asked, kindly, about the status of my order, I got the impression that they just didn’t care. I can get a GREAT pizza anywhere, but my business does matter, and it would have been nice to be treated in such a way.

This is a very good Italian restaurant. Have had the pizza only and it’s really good with plenty toppings. But the dinner rolls are worth the trip from anywhere in a thirty mile distance. Soft, hot, fresh and tasty. A good meal can be made from their marinara sauce and these rolls. Go here.

We have been coming here for years because we love the pizza, but as of tonight will not be coming back. I had asked on the phone if they had any specials and the girl on the phone told me they had a large 1 topping pizza for $ 9.99 and each additional topping was .85. When my husband went to pick up the pizza, they had charged him $ 23.00. When he asked why it wasn’t the $ 9.99, they said that was for a medium. The manager refused to honor the price and then proceeded to laugh at my husband when he tried to explain that wasn’t very honest.

The manager laughed in the face of an upset customer tonight. I don’t think I can go here anymore.

Delicious, delicious, delicious! I ordered delivery and they were pretty quick, and I was amazed by the quality and quantity of the food. The pasta was amazing and so was the roll. I can tell that roll was homemade! Oh and the salad was huge and delicious. You guys have a loyal customer!!!

Not Happy! Ordered the Italian sausage sandwich to find out that I ordered some very thinly sliced want to be sausage. That was not a sausage sandwich. Bring back the original family sandwich please! Especially for the amount $$.

Love this pizza place!!! The pizza dough itself is delicious which means the pizza itself is ALOT better than the other well known pizza places in fresno. Small mom and pop shop, they are very generous with their toppings which can be a plus most times. Only thing that would make my experinece this time 5 stars that they would be a little lighter on the cheese, dont get me wrong still delicious. Still a fan :)

Absolutely some of the best Italian food in town. And fairly priced too. Amazing customer service and really friendly staff. It is a small place but aren’t those the best ones in town? We had a lasagna and ravioli plate. They didn’t make it till we ordered it. So it was fresh and hot and amazing. I couldn’t recommend an Italian place more strongly.

O. M…G. I can forgive mistakes. I can forgive having to remake my order. but you SERVE this to me?! You pretend you didn’t notice you burned it so bad it TASTES like burnt toast? The pepperoni is so hard that I can tap it like plastic. I am shocked

Based on what I heard from friends, I went a bit out of my way to give their pizza a try. As the pictures show, the«slice» of pizza is huge; looks to be ¼ of a small pizza. As a «yardstick» of sorts, I decided to stick with basic pepperoni for toppings; they were generous with the pepperoni, and the cheese as well. before I touch on the not so great side, I’ll note that I DID get my pizza to go, and it ended up sitting in the box for 30 minutes or so before I got to eat it(grabbed on my way to work). Yes, it’s a bit oily; such is the reality of real meat, and real cheeze. If you mind it, blot it off. Also, by the time I got to it, the crust was a bit soggy, but this was most likely a result of sitting in the box as long as it did before I got to eat. Will definitely be back, though I’d be back more often if they were closer to my house.

Wow… Quite a range of reviews here. I brought home a large combination tonight. First time I’ve tried this place. Here are my thoughts, for what they’re worth. Different people like their pizza lots of different ways. No surprise there. If you’re looking for thin crispy crust, or gourmet style toppings, this probably isn’t what you want. But if you’re looking for a substantial pizza, high-quality toppings and lots of them, I think you should give this place a try. I read a few complaints about the prices. Well, you can get cheaper pizza for sure. But it will probably be mostly bread, or really sparse with the toppings. Me and Ed’s is a lot cheaper, but then again I always eat a lot more of that pizza then I could manage from Mama Mia’s. So what’s the better deal then? Some of the reviews suggest that the pizza is greasy. It’s just that they use a lot of cheese. And when cheese melts… Well, you get the idea. And yeah, it’s basically a takeout place in a strip mall. If you’re looking for posh, this ain’t it. So, bottom line is, if the Unilocal descriptions fit your idea of a good pizza, then I think you’ll be really pleased here. If not, you won’t be. I know… That sounds really deep, doesn’t it? :) — We’ll be back for sure.

Wanted GF Italian food and to try something new, so I went to Mama Mia’s. It’s mostly a take-out place, with a squished-in small dining room that most people use to wait for take-out, and a small patio out front. Their menu is extensive, with different combinations that I want to try in the future. I got their gluten-free ravioli. It said five pillows, so I was expecting it to be small, but the five pieces took up the entire plate. The pasta is al dente, the cheese was stretchy, and the meat sauce was savory and thick. The inside was cheesy, with spinach and other veggies. Mmm. They told me all their regular pasta is homemade, and they’ve ordered the GF in until they can make a good one themselves. Same with the pizza dough – the place that makes it GF only makes large, but they’re trying to make their own for all sizes. Good to know, because now I can come back and try it out. :)

Greasy pizza. Not good. An order of cheese ravioli came with 5, um, is that even an order? 2 stars for the ravioli, wish it came with a few more, considering an order was about $ 12 :/

Awesome pizzas at very affordable prices. This is a 2nd generation ownership and the current owner has been running it for 26 years. So if you love history, you have plenty here. The current owner, Mike is training his family. A real nice guy. The only downside is there’s very limited seating, so if you go during peak hours, you probably going to have a problem finding a seat. They do have take out and delivery. This is my new favorite pizza in Fresno area and definitely worthy of five stars.
