Excellence In Eyewear

I’m trying to be more mindful of supporting small businesses and decided to come here after reading reviews on Unilocal.First, it’s such a quiet and warm environment. Second, they have amazing customer service! They were so friendly, helpful, and honest. Plus my glasses will be ready in 6 days. What was also nice to see, there were 2 return customers that came in while I was there, which says a lot when you have so many eye glass businesses competing for business by offering low prices and same day service. Needless to say I am highly recommending to everyone I know in the market for new glasses!

The optometrist here is amazing. I’ve been going to him for about 2 years now and a couple of weeks ago I had some swelling in my lower eyelid. Not sure on where would be the best place to go, I called and the receptionist said I could come in at no charge to me within the hour! I got there, got checked out and was told I had a chalazion and that it would go away with warm compacts. It’s finally gone and I’m so glad he didn’t try to sell me some drops or medication I didn’t need but gave me the real solution. He’s the best also my prescription is finally right and I can see :)

I have been going to Excellence in Eyewear for years. The owners always make extra effort to be sure I am happy with service. I get professional service every time. thank you for all my eye wear needs.

I needed my new glasses tinted (to make them sunglasses.) We do not live in the area — and Excellence in Eyewear was suggested to me as a place where I could have my glasses tinted. (The tinting I needed could not be done by the place where I got my glasses.)
I went in with my glasses and immediately we were greeted and helped. The person we needed to see for the tinting of glasses was momentarily out of the office, but. . we were kept apprised of how long before her return (e.g. — «she just pulled up», etc.)
Linda helped me with my tinting questions so that I’d know exactly what I needed to do to have my glasses tinted. She was very helpful and patient as both my husband and I asked questions. Things were explained well.
My glasses are now tinted — and we were VERY pleased w/​the help we received here, the friendliness of the staff, and the cost.
This will definitely be our go-​to place for glasses in the future. Yes, there are some places that may be cheaper, but. .. sometimes needs are best met by smaller, local shops. That was the case for us, for sure.

My experience here was just plain weird. The assistance made it clear from the very start that they thought I was weird, and worked on this persistent mind trip. The doctor is supposed to provide a prescription for eyeglasses. They look like none I have ever seen. I have since seen two optometrists and their prescriptions better match my backup records while this prescription is completely unacceptable.

Later, we tried to call in from another office, and the prescription provided was extra weird (beyond what I had in hand). The weird trip did not just include the exam, the process of ordering, but also used to extract unnecessary personal information that may have been photocopied. The worst part was that the glasses ordered did not match what had been picked. That was the crème de la crème on weird over weird.
Don’t come here if you aren’t fully backed up with friend or are susceptible to their mind trip. I’ve noticed that Fresno optometrists in general have a Stepford Wives mentality regarding where you come from, who you are, where you live, etc. My advice: visit a department store with affiliated services where there isn’t so much provincialism. Or just take a trip out of town and get them in another city.

I had gone to several different places to try to fill a prescription for my glasses. I call this place on a Friday close to closing and they got me in right away. The staff was super friendly and they did a great job. I highly recommend them because they take the time to get to know you and everyone there is awesome. Keep business local in Fresno. I’ve been going to one of the large eyewear shops in Fresno for years, and thought I’d look for better pricing. I found it here, as well as a much better selection (for my taste, at least) and no waiting. It’s also a locally owned business, family run, very personal and service oriented. Definitely my go-​to place for glasses.

So the story goes like this…
I sat on my friends (expensive) glasses, only to find out she was borrowing them from her roommate! EEK! A quick google search led me to this place. They fixed the frames within 24 hours for only $ 10 & they looked like brand new! Excellence in Eyewear saved the day!
